Probably an HDD issue but not sure what I can do ..  My Xbox has a xecuter 2 modchip and when I flip a switch this insert CD screen appears. 3 switches with one of them opening this screen..I am no expert with that modchip but can this help?

Usually caused by C partition going frickity fucky. In that situation I just format C and set it up using an installer. Although I am unsure of your dash config... as long as you're booting from the E partition, you should be fine.

Not seen that screen - I think you need advice from somebody who knows the Xecuter 2.0 chip and the Cromwell BIOS version that it appears to be using.

My thought is that the chip might have two BIOS banks (selected by the switches mentioned) and whatever BIOS is being used is looking for the main dash in the wrong location. What should happen is that eventually the BIOS default action will be to try to launch the xboxdash.xbe and as Bowlsnapper suggests the C:\ drive is messed up in some way. Typically that would be due to a previous softmod but with the likely age of the installation there could be several other explanations.

One thing you should not do is attempt to reflash the BIOS at least not until you get some expert, knowledgeable advice first.

I can probably delete the c partition from my PC but how do I launch an installer if the Xbox doesn't boot ?

So I simply burn a disc with like rocky5s tool and will be fine.

If rocky 5 has an option to wipe C and reinstall typical files, then yes. I use the OGXbox installer to do it.

You are seeing the regular MS bios boot when this switch is flipped, correct? What are you seeing on the boot screen when the switch is in the other position? You're gonna wanna launch the disc with the chip enabled. I believe you are seeing the screen when disabled.

I see the regular boot both with activated and with deactivated chip but different error screen. When I changed bank it doesn't have a boot screen it goes directly to the flash menu.

An unlocked drive is error 5. This error comes up when the MS dash cannot load. Error 13 is the dashboard error. It's coming up when you're trying to load your modded dash. You have both. You need to setup C and E, install your dashboard all over again and then I would worry about the drive unlocking second. Backup the E partition before you wipe so you can move things back and not lose everything.

This screen (that I'm replying to) is the MS dash/MS Bios giving the 5 error. So load the OTHER bios pictured here...

... and you will be able to boot the installer disc with it.

They could just lock the drive and test. That may fix everything. No sense in going in to rebuild everything when it’s not needed. We really need to get back to trying the easiest tests first before jumping to more extreme measures. This seems like a simple case of trying to use a hard mod build with a stock setup. It just won’t work.

I got this console modded and running years ago . It recently had some small issues and that may be party cause of the age of HDD and many apps didn't work . And now this . I didn't try to launch stock dash I use EvoX

I understand, but if you’re flipping the dip switches and it boots stock, then that is disabling the chip. Those mod chips can hold more than one bios which is what the dip switches are for. If you don’t have a bios flashed on certain banks, then it is indeed booting to the stock dash. In turn, if your drive isn’t locked, the stock dash can not boot it properly.
