Really no point, especially if you cannibalize the dvd power cable like I did. You can always get a DVD delete bracket that holds the DVD door in place. The startech IDE2SAT25 board wouldn't get in the way of any of it. (Not to be confused with the popular red startech board). Is that board configured to be female rather than male, making it suitable for use over there? All the clutter behind my HDD in the tray makes it hard to not only fit all of it, but to close my LID! I did go and remove the white mini molex connector and soldered the wires from the DVD power directly to the board. You'd also want a right angled sata cable.
