I'm a noob and I need a little help please. I have softmodded my Xbox with Unleash X and now I want to hard mod it. I have burned Hexen 2018 disc image file to a disc and now I am trying to figure out how to get Xbox Bios Checker either v4 or V5 onto a disc. I burn the files to the DVD R disc but the Xbox won't recognize it. What Files do I need to burn onto the disc? Should there be a disc image file? What am I doing wrong? Do I have to hardmod it first for this to work? I'm sorry but I have looked at so many videos and searched so many forums that now I'm lost in the forest. Please break out the crayons on this one to show me how to do this. Thank you.

Into quite a bit of a mystery here. Sold a fellow a modded Xbox and he traded in an old busted Xbox to save a few bucks so now I'm trying to fix it. When turned on the Xbox turns off pretty quickly but then restarts immediately, then the same again, turns off and then back on a third time and then stays on and shows flashing orange and red lights (the odd time it will flash red and green just to deepen the mystery). Googling the problem results in many ppl saying it's an 'av pack' issue if the av cable is not the problem but the restarting thing tells me it's more likely a PSU issue or a bios/mod-gone-wrong problem. Pulled everything apart completely, thought I found the problem with a burnt contact point near the plugin. Re-flowed all 4 points just to be sure and no difference at all. Kept googling and found a few encouraging leads including this url https://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-163.html#xboxerrorcodes1 and tried jumping that wire from the lpc pin 5. No f*ckin' joy. Also just a side note - the lpc vias are all plugged with solder (see pic) indicating that a modchip was removed at some point. Also I checked the solder points for the Xbox 1.0 TSOP and it looks like they've been done also - but the guy said he never modded that one. Thing is, the further into this I get the more convinced I am that this unit is fixable. Most people will just say eff it and chuck it or whatever but I really like to save old things if at all possible. I have included a pic of the wire I jumped (yellow wire) from the lpc pin 5 as the url tutorial suggested. The same pic also shows a mysterious blue wire that was here before I opened it. Asked the dude about the blue wire and he said no idea, never modded that one. In some of my Googling I found a post saying something about a D0 wire or DO wire described as a 'modchip enable wire', maybe this could be it? Any ideas about how to move forward or what the blue wire is for would be great, my thanks go out to anyone who has any ideas that might help,

Hi people, i bought an softmoded OG Xbox a couple of months ago with an 80GB Ide hard drive. I wasn't able to use it because i needed to get an Voltage converter (v220 to v110, 300W) and i wasn't able to test it untill now. During that time i replaced the thermal paste following some tutorials and cleaned the upper case. Now that i have the converter the console won't turn on. It doesn't make any noise. I checked the capacitors and all of them seem to be alright (Flat on the top and no leaking) and i tried with a different power cable and nothing. Thanks for your time. Following the footsteps of these gentlemen & crew: Trusty N64 Freak FriendTech I intend to upgrade the CPU in my Xbox, for Linux performance. At some point (after I have an SMD rework station) I intend to upgrade the RAM also. At this stage I'm just researching the feasibility, and seeing what I'm jumping into. I believe I can use a CPU socket (495) from a mobile Pentium 3 to use a P3 1 GHz "SL53s" with minor accommodations made. I will need to comb over the datasheets as I don't currently know If I can just "drop in" a faster 495 mobile celeron/P3, say after I've installed a CPU socket from an old laptop. Processors I've seen photos of installed in adapters include: SL5XL The Tualatin 1.4 GHz 512KB L2 Cache and 133MHz FSB SL53S Seen in N64 Freak's 1GHz mod, apparently using a cpu w/ 100MHz FSB is not out of the question. SL657 Seen in an adapter board somewhere. I wouldn't try an SL6BY because the core voltage is lower than 1.5V and the original CPU used up to 1.7V Some concerns I have: VID Voltage Range, VID[4:0] SSE Technology, SpeedStep Technology. GTL+ (do any of the cpus use the older GTL, if not then it is not a concern at the moment) Bus Speed: Can I use a chip with 100 MHz FSB? Nobody wants to downgrade.. L2 Cache: Does this matter? Can I simply use a chip with more, believe I can because Trusty & N64 freak have already done this without issue. To slow the CPU speed, they are apparently using STPCLK# assertion. This is accomplished on the adapter PCB with the necessary support components added. My first attempts will not include provisions to slow the performance, as playing games on the console will not be an immediate priority. I'll have to check the usual places and see if I can locate a CPU area schematic for the Xbox, I believe it is in the wild, if anyone has details, please PM me! The socket 370 to 495 adaptor shouldn't be too difficult to create seeing as how I have some datasheets to work from. First attempt I will use a standard 495 PGA mobile cpu (currently looking for one w/133 FSB) in a recovered 495 socket, then comes the task of designing an adapter board to go from 495 to 370. If N64 Freak would like to comment his words will be greatly appreciated, I'm not here to steal anyones thunder; just looking for a performance gain. I have datasheets from that era attached below, I'll have to see if the SL5sn (xbox) CPU is mentioned. Hi there, I'm having some strange issues formatting SATA HDDs on a 1,6 Xbox with and Aladding xt +2 modchip. I have upgraded to a 1TB SATA drive with the SATA/IDE adaptor and the 80 wire cable. I just did this on a Xbox 1.0 and it worked just fine, but when I try on the 1.6 Xbox even though I try to write the partition at 927.7 GB it never shows up correctly after the reboot, the F drive is only 120GB and after many tries still cannot access the full amount of memory.. Tried a bunch of times, wondered if something was wrong with the drive (it was used but was working perfectly before I upgraded my computer to an SSD) so I went out and bought a brand new 2TB Seagate drive and I'm still having a ton of weirdness. When I try to make both partitions 927.7GB it still shows very strangely after a reboot. It shows (again) that the F drive is only 120GB but is showing the G drive at like over 1700 GBs. To my knowledge the largest size these partitions (with 64KB clusters) can be is 1024GB and anything over that will not work correctly. I kept messing with it and I can't get the two equal sized partitions no matter what. I have tried loading some games on and it seems to work (games load), and the memory seems to display correctly (minus the size of the game copied) after I copy a game. Should I bother worrying about this? The GBs do after all add up to pretty much 2TB... It just seems so strange because I was really pretty sure you can't have partitions over 1TB.. Also since I had no issues before on the 1.0 version I was thinking it could just be the Xbox somehow...? That seems wrong too though... Any clarification or suggestions would be super appreciated, thanks a bunch.

Hello everyone! I was hoping to get some help with my old modded Xbox. I used to have a pretty good library of backed up games, and I cannot remember if a patcher as needed to get the games ready for playing. I've been using ImgBurn to get my ISO images burnt (the same program I've been using since i first did my mod) and for some reason the Xbox recognizes the disc as data and freezes instead of allowing me to play them..I'm trying to make my friend relive the same joy on Conker: Lie and Reloaded and my original copy is too scratched up! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your time

Hi, What's the best softmod to use in 2018, I have Need for Speed Carbon and Swat Global Strike Team. I am also able to solder, so setting up a usb port is a possibility. Just want to use the most flexible method, most reliable. Thanks for your infos. M.

Hi from the frozen north of the UK. Dusted off the old v1.0 xbox and fitted a new 80mm fan and re thermal pasted the CPU /GPU. I originally softmodded then TSOP flashed my xbox using pencil graphite as the conducter. I have now soldered the R7D10 point and flashed EvoX M8+ bios. The xbox has never been quieter and I forgot how comfortable my Nyko Airflow duke controller was. Happy days!

I was using the newest version of Xblast OS. I was wondering if anyone had any solutions on this situation? Ive spent way too many hours trying to figure this out so far. I used chimp program, to unlock a hard drive , but when I try to lock it back up . The hard drive doesn't lock and i get error message. Is there a better way and how . thanks

Hello All I have a x3 modded v1.2 xbox that i have upgraded with a 2tb drive. I am trying to ftp games to it but after a while it will stop and give me errors like file not found using flashfxp or filezilla. I have tried with static ip and dchp also with router and direct using (crossover cable) from my pc and a laptop. The process gets to a certain point then errors, i've been trying for days with no luck. any suggestions more than welcome. Thanks

Well the “Xbox artwork installer” is out, although it’s only on my downloader that comes with XBMC-Emustation and XBMC4Gamers. Currently prebuilt is 1072 Games with full artwork and synopsis information. There is more artwork done but that’s for specials and homebrew/emulators eg... these aren’t part of the installer. Hello, I have two xboxes, version 1.2 and 1.4 in both of them after the start Frag. They do not have a tsop. In one there was a chip for a spider web with cromwell, I soldered the chip and the console got Frag. In the second one, however, it worked but after replacing the past, it stopped competing. I tried to run both aladdin but it does not help, any ideas ?

Hello, I have xbox ver 1.6, delta power supply gives 4,3 volt instead of 5v and the same drive hdd does not start. 12 volts is ok Capacitors have been replaced, but they are still the same. Do you have any idea what to check. The capacitor is 5v but on the output is already 4,3 volts
