About Me

  1. Hey does anyone out there know if its possible to use a keyboard and mouse with ScummVM Xbox?? I wanna play some old school Sierra point & click games.... Ive tries plugging my wireless keyboard and mouse into the usb ports on my X3cp but no luck with that.
  2. Hey all, looking to sell my Halo 2 Special Edition unit modded with an Xecuter 3 chip, and fitted with an Xecuter 3 CP- a rather desirable setup for the enthusiast. It has not gotten the attention that I would have liked, so I'm looking to sell it, necessary cables, and a controller for $260. System is in great condition, and functions 100%. System also has a 250gb HDD.
  3. I have been contacted about a huge project for the og xbox scene but we will need the communitys help with it so what the project is. is that we were going to go out and find the og xbox passport.live server keys which would bring back the og xbox servers to play online again but since that is not possible to get them we are planning on making a new dashboard for the og xbox with party chat intergration online services and much more but we will need your help so please contact me if you are interested in helping out in the project.
  4. Hey everyone i was lucky enough to get this console its 1 of 5 in the world what do you guys think i would get for it if i were to post it online. Here is a video of the console i got
  5. As always, the finished product goes first. The system is a XChip modded xbox running XBMC. Has 4,000 games backedup on it (Coinops-NES, Atari 2600, N64, PS1, Arcade games and everything inbetween. Including some PC game ports as well as backed up Xbox games with custom maps and features). But, there's a twist. It can use original, unmodified NES controllers. And full SNES controllers with a simple SNES>NES adapter (Fun fact, they have the same contacts, just different plugs). This is designed to be a very long lasting Xbox. It runs under 100 degrees Fahrenheit and everything is plug n play so if I need to change the motherboard or PSU out its as easy as Legos. And as always, the unit is designed to be used by strangers at large events when its not sitting in front of my own TV, so its built quite rugged. For the case I went to eBay and simply searched "aluminum enclosure" until I found something I liked. When it arrived, it looked something like below. Then I used a drill press to slowly and methodically drill out the holes I wanted, then I filed them down. Luckily I no longer have to do this method for my consoles as I found someone who can reliably mill my holes out for me. While this method worked, its missing that final 5% that really makes you go "wow". For the NES ports, I used a microcontroller to imitate the OG xbox controller and let me use unmodified NES controllers instead. To switch between the NES and Xbox controllers, you just have to push the button next to the controller port, its that simple. I have adapters to allow me to use SNES controllers as well. Luckily its just a physical difference for the plug, like having a USB-mini to USB micro adapter. While I like the duke controller, I can now use more simple controllers for games that dont required joysticks. While its tempting to have my new contact professionally remake a front bezel for me to really polish it off, I would rather that money go toward a new project.
  6. Thanks for the OG Xbox mod information. Looking forward to fixing a couple of recent purchases (Xecuter 2 Xbox not working/loading, and another modified OG Xbox)
  7. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum but here goes... What's the best way to clone a 2TB SATA Xbox HDD to another 2TB drive? I have an Inateck FD2002 that is a dual SATA USB 3.0 dock, that has an offline cloning feature, but every time I try to clone my 2TB Xbox SATA HDD using the offline cloning feature, I initiate the clone function, then it briefly starts the process, but the dock restarts itself. The USB cable is not plugged into it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  8. Hey everyone anyone got an og xbox collection to show off post it here this is mine so far

  11. I managed to get an Xbox from a thrift store for free, however, it boots up to an error screen with a number in the top-left corner, 12. I've tried searching online and have found it to be related to the disc drive. I've checked all the cable and have even swapped it with another one, that works. Yet, it still refuses to get past the error screen. Help would be appreciated, thanks.
  12. so 2018 has been a real blow to rom sites, and im wondering what people think about emulation and modding in general for the future. Also are ALL rom sites in danger now? myself being a newbie to mod/emulation it has been a bit off a put off but i would love to hear any words of wisdom or tips for the future , thanks.
  13. I am looking for someone who is able to preform the following mods. X3IR mod and the internal Logitech controller dongle mod. Thank you.

  15. Hi all! Just made an account to show my support on how epic the original Xbox is. (halo 2 for life)
  16. As the title says, I have an Xbox with an incredibly annoying buzz/hum problem. The buzz comes from the speakers of the TV, not the Xbox itself. And only occurs when using the component cables. When using composite cables, the audio is perfectly fine. Haven't tried SCART as I do not have the cable. I'm pretty sure this issue wasn't an issue just a few months ago. I've tried using different power cables, different power sockets (in case of grounding issue)... I think SOMETIMES it depends on what game is being played whether the buzz appears. My Xbox is softmodded, with the only physical mod being a new SATA HDD using an HDD to SATA adapter. Is this a possible cause? The only other thing I can see are three capacitors that LOOK like they are bulging, but no leaking yet. The three caps in question are right below the CPU heatsink, labelled C3E2, C2E5 and C1E1.. I've attached a photo to show the caps. The photo isn't mine, I found it on Google images but it's identical to mine., Are these caps related to audio, or are they related to something else like power? So the question is... does anyone out there have any ideas as to the cause of a buzzing noise with component cables that probably wasn't there a few months ago?
  17. The dreaded lights have finally arrived. I recieved my xbox second hand and it was already modded. I'm sure there's guide to this somewhere but I haven't seen it. Any ideas to the common causes and checks I should run? I've already started to take it apart and can't see anything terribly wrong, but I'm no expert...
  18. Hiya, I have been lucky enough to pick up a Xbox with a X3 chip. Planning to add a 2TB HDD and LCD screen. If anyone can point me to any good tutorials that would be great. Thanks
  19. So I've had a modded Xbox original for a few years now, and I just got around to using it again. Thanks to this forum it's running much stronger. Upgraded to the Startech SATA adapter, changed to an 80wire IDE cable (not pictured) and then moved over to a TSOP flash instead of a softmod.
  20. Sooooo i have a MAJOR issue. I had softmodded my Xbox and accidentally unlocked the HDD now it's somewhat useless.. (User: ecstone ) provided me with some info about building a EEPROM reader, but finding each individual parts to build it is gonna take some time and there is none on sale online... I was wondering if I can just purchase a modchip and just install Hexen to a brand new HDD (500Gb) or will i still have my Error 5 code to deal with????
  21. How to install XDSL from a disc. Link in the description of the video. Enjoy!
  22. Hey guys just made a new video of how to ftp to your original xbox hope you guys enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Nw6L2D7lkg
  23. I dont know if this has been put up on here before, but i came across this during my quest to fix a v1.2 xbox that wont boot. I have at some point managed to bork the hard drive during this quest Any how this webpage shows how to read an eeprom from an xbox using a Pi and a pin header normally used for mounting modchips in an xbox.. I have installed the program on my pi and got everything ready, just waiting for my header wires to arrive and then im goin to give it a go. My thinking is if i can read the xeeprom i can then use xboxhdm2.3usb to rebuild the hard drive and install a softmod. Then hopefully this bastard will boot again Heres the link .... http://icode4.coffee/?p=22
  24. Hey all! I’ve got a couple Xboxes in the office I’m trying to renovate and maybe get back up and running. They seem to be in pretty terrible shape. This post is primarily about my 1.0, but I also have a 1.1 that boots up three times and instead of standard red/green, it flashes orange and does not power off with the power button. Clock cap leaked, too. A lot. I replaced a few capacitors nearby as they looked bad too but same deal. I cleaned the board three or four times with rubbing alcohol, it looks pristine - can’t find any bad traces. I haven’t looked at the P/E board yet; could this be an issue? Anyway, main part of my post: i have a 1.0 Xbox that seems like it’s FRAG’ing but not quite. It turns on - no video - and after a bit, the front LED flashes green. After a bit of this it goes to red/green, still no video. I haven’t cleaned this one yet, but I have taken a look at the board and can’t find any super obvious problems. Clock cap does look to have leaked a little bit, but a quick cleaning and removal did nothing to fix it. One of the vias nearby looks as if it may be burnt. I’ve attached photos of the entire board here, I hope someone knows or spots something here I wasn’t able to. These boxes deserve good homes!!! Quick edit: this box has never been modded, not was it even opened before I started trying to fix this issue, warranty stickers and all. From the writing on top it looks like she gave out on the previous user and made its way from their garage sale to me.
