  1. I recently was given a link to what could be a useful resource for anyone looking to patch an XBE for widescreen etc. This has been put together by @Jay Yardley (He doesn't post here much anymore but is active on discord). Thanks Jay His repo contains a nice spreadsheet of find and replace values for XBE patching, along with pretty much every existing XBE patch out there. Also has some pages with a few useful tools etc. The more links we have to these things the better imo as it stops them being lost to history Anyway, here's the link. https://www.jayxbox.com/home Hopefully some of you will find it useful. (I couldn't find it linked anywhere here already but that may be the case and its buried among the old posts )
  2. Does anyone know of a link to the XBE patcher that patches og xbox games to run on an upgraded 1.4 ghz CPU? I can't find any links anywhere whatsoever. It looks like this. The link from this forum doesn't work anymore.
  3. I have Star Wars - Knights of the old Republic and Star Wars - Knights of the old Republic 2 installed in Games on my F drive. Evidently they both have the same title in the XBE (Star Wars - Knights of the old Republic) which means that Unleash only shows one game in the GAMES and XBMC-Emustation shows KOTR 2 as a duplicate title (Star Wars - Knights of the old Republic (duplicate) - even though the game scanner shows the correct title when scanning). Through searching, I read that this because the default.xbe for both games has the same title info and that the easiest way to update it is to go into the file manager on Unleash, click the white button and choose the option to edit the Game title - which works (I can change the title and it will show up in both dashboards) but has a problem - the interface limits the number of characters you can use to a smaller value than the length of the title for these games. Like if you blank out the title, you can't even put the full original title back in - it's too long for the (apparently artificial character length limit the Unleash file explorer imposes). All I want to be able to do is to change the title for the second game from "Star Wars - Knights of the old Republic" to "Star Wars - Knights of the old Republic 2" which matches the artwork, synopsis, etc. So my question is whether there are any other on-xbox (or PC-based) tools / applications that will let you edit the game title in the default.xbe without this character limit?
  4. Hey I know you can add main menu options with custom folder paths but when I set it to an app and select it, it opens the folder instead of the app inside it. Is there any way to add a path to a specific file?
  5. I'm trying to play DOOM ROE in 720p my xbox version 1.0 european, tsop with mod 128mb, I did according to the tutorial I found, you have to run the two files one at a time, but when I run the second xbe the image is as per the attached photo
  6. I'm creating my dragon image on a 4tb drive with bios cerbios I then filled the R and S partitions with the full set of xbox games and I am making the various connections with xbe shortcut maker2.0 from the dragon folder located in partition F Unfortunately, all links don't work As if the software fails to manage the 2 new partitions Are there any solutions at the moment?
  7. Hey all, I've just got back into playing my original xbox and I've got XMBC4GAMERS set up on a new 2tb HDD. Can anyone advise on patching xbe game files using Linux so that i can take advantage of 128mb of RAM?
  8. Hey Guys! I have a question. Some of my Games are widescreen patched. I used a hex editor to modify the default.xbe file Would it be possible to implement a check like: if defaultwide.xbe is present, then let the user decide if he wants to start the default.xbe or defaultwide.xbe Because sometimes I have my xbox connected to my CRT and sometimes to my Oled and this would make life WAY easier
  9. I am interested in something like Qwix or C-xbox tool but which also allows me to use an ACL file for the chosen xbe. As far as I know ACLs are only used with DVD2XBOX (which can use the context menu on extracted XBEs in its file explorer to process with ACL files, for anyone looking for that functionality).
  10. Weird problem I came across which I thought was an old softmod issue which chipping (Aladdin XT Plus + new BIOS) might fix on a v1.1. It hasn't. 160GB HDD, F:\ correctly formatted and every app I have in F:\Apps that I've tested boots without issue except for an UnleashX v584 one. I've copied in known working replacements from a variety of sources and they all just hang at the load screen. No skins being used, default Config.xml and Item.xml too. But move that same default.xbe to C:\ or E:\ and it works perfectly. Second problem, which is more serious, is that no generic MS dash stockfiles will work. I tried using them from E:\Backup and they momentarily flash the MS dash background before crashing to an error 21 screen. This is what happened when it was softmodded done using a very old version of SID which included a 5960 Patch you had to use to get the softmod to work. Much later I discovered only this Xbox's original C:\ drive files work as a MS backup and so I have had to preserve them carefully. I have another softmodded Xbox done with a later SID which by luck is a v1.1, identical 4817 retail BIOS version too. Even though that doesn't have the problems I could share files like the UnleashX v584 ones and its own C:\ drive MS dash XBE or full backup and they would work. But now after I cleaned up the HDD for use with the chip the files from that Xbox won't work either. I can't think what might cause these problems, which I'm sure are related. Any ideas?
  11. Hi, I have a lot's of XBOX iso's I want to use those with the attach.xbe (https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1134-xiso-playing-games-from-xbox-hdd-using-iso-images/ ) But that means I would need to manually rename for every game.... Is there a command line tool to rename XBE titles? (preferably linux or source available)
  12. For those of you like myself who were looking for a way to have multiple instances of a multisystem emulator (instead of having seperate rom folders for each system within one emulator) without overwriting configs/saves, Any hex editor should work, I used this one http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm#download Make a copy of the desired emulator folder on your pc. In this example I used Xboyadvance_v24b07 Rename the folder to something more specific: I chose Xboyadvance_GB Open the default .xbe in the Xboyadvance_GB folder in your hex editor Select search > replace - Make sure you've clicked the boxes labelled "text string" under the "find" and "replace with" sections, and uncheck the "case sensitive" option at the bottom. In the "find" field enter xboyadvance In the "replace with" field enter xboyadvanca (replace with whatever name you like, but it must be the same number of characters as xboyadvance - 11 characters) Save the .xbe and ftp the folder to your xbox, you'll have to setup the default directories and configure everything, but once you're done it should be all set. You can follow the same method, and replace the xboyadvance with something different the second time, I just used xboyadvanca, and xboyadvancb, on mine., and the default that came with the emu for the third, and I now have 3 independent versions with their own configs, previews, saves etc. I posted this tutorial hoping it would help some other picky people like myself, you can use it for different emulators like Neogenesis or Meka-X, but the search strings would change according to the name of the emulator of course. I'm also attaching two edited Xboyadvance ..XBE's. You should be able to just plop these into copies of the emu folder and ftp it to your xbox, though you'll still have to configure the emu of course. Edited XBE's.rar
  13. I have a Xbox (v1..1), Currently it has Modded with Spider Chip with M8+ Bios flashed. (* Its HDD content actually is softmoded, but due to old HDD failing, I cloned the content to the current HDD which is not lockable, thus had to use the spiderchip again) One of disadvantage of modchip is it doesn't support playing game from ISO directly, But nkpatcher seems only for softmod. Therefore, I searched and managed to find out from the post http://www.emuxtras.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=187&t=3228&start=20, about using the amazing console app "cdrom_modchip" to load the ISO file. It works greatly without needing to config or code anything., except having to run/load the patcher every time after the xbox restart. Does anyone have any idea how to load the patcher.xbe automatically when the DASH started. From the post above, it was mentioned about configing the IND_Bios.cfg ( the order of DASH1, DASH2, DASH3 etc). But I don't like ind_bios, as I feel M8 bios is much clean and faster. . Thanks in advance Peter

  15. Qwix101 Ftp to your xbox Create xiso's extract xiso's patch default xex and more.... Change Log: Note: Please read the Qwix_FAQ.htm file included with Qwix! Even with that file included in the RAR, many of those questions come up all the time. This is a bugfix release and adds no new features. Qwix 1.01 fixes: - Reworked FTP transfer buffers for improved Windows performance during and after transfers, which can also increase transfer speeds (especially boost mode). - Changed default transfer buffer size from 512KB to 1MB. - Fixed a transfer thread leak which caused various problems with Qwix after transferring an ISO. - Fixed a problem that prevented game icons from being downloaded after transferring an ISO. - Fixed a problem that prevented batch properties from taking effect if you pushed a button on the toolbar before clicking in any other control first. - Made the XBE rename case-sensitive when deciding whether it should rewrite the XBE file or not. - Disabled the "Use advanced Avalaunch features" option in the connection editor until the SITE REFRESH command is fixed in Avalaunch. Yes, that's all that the option does. No, it doesn't make transfers slower. - Fixed the taskbar disappearing act and an occasional OLE32.DLL access violation, both on Win98/WinME. - Fixed a few font and color issues, making things a bit more consistent with certain themes and platforms. - Fixed a problem that prevented a transfer to the root directory of an Xbox drive. - Fixed a random access violation that was caused by the component used for all the lists and trees in the Qwix user interface. - Made the local PC folder browser show the proper folder name for shortcut items like My Network Places shares. - Fixed the Rename ISO feature from the Scan Folders right-click (from the Load ISO screen, not Scan Titles).
