  1. I would like to remove the DVD drive on my 1.0 tsop . Occasionally the Xbox will fail to boot because of the drive, and I have no need for it. I looked around on the internet and my xbox, although I know it can be done; I am not seeing clear way of performing this mod. Assistance would be appreciated.
  2. Hi! I've had this xbox since childhood, my dad bought it modded 20 years ago and he then upgraded the hdd and dvd drive. Now i have no idea on what modchip this is, i'd like to start fresh with this xbox, remove all the ancient media player stuff my dad put on it, and just play games. If someone knows what this is i'd really appreciate it. My idea was to remove this modchip and softmod it, upgrade the bios, and the hdd. The issue is that I dont know if it's possible to just remove this thing. Will it still boot? Even with the custom hdd? If possible i'd also consider keeping it, if i can upgrade bios and hdd. I'll follow the easiest route. Thank you in advance, all the help is appreciated! Othern images l: https://postimg.cc/gallery/GGqWxLR
  3. Looking for advice on how to remove the Xbox top panel crystal / jewel (not sure correct term) with minimal damage to the panel and the crystal / jewel itself. I'm thinking maybe fishing line and heat gun? I'm removing the jewel / crystal from a rare top panel so I can't afford to fuck it up.
  4. This thread will demonstrate how the xbox jewel can be removed, and in a pair of follow-up posts how a hole for it can be made on the xbox cover, all in a very low-tech manner. I'm not confident enough to call these tutorials, but they may be helpful. First: removing the jewel. I grab a couple feet of dental floss and stuff it under the edge of the jewel with a card or what have you. Then I dribble some rubbing alcohol down there, because in my experience rubbing alcohol acts as a mild solvent on the adhesive pad thingy underneath. Whatever helps. By the way it was another modder, not me, who invented the floss method. I start flossing while keeping the arms of the floss in that letter U shape. I'm going to add more alcohol in a minute and re-position the floss at the other side of the jewel then continue working it. After a while the floss approaches the middle of the jewel and it starts to bind, that's when I add some mineral oil to lubricate everything. Pretty much any type of oil will do though. The whole mess starts to look like this... Getting farther in, the floss wants to bind again despite the oil. I don't want it to snap. I lift one of its arms to a 90 degree angle and slowly work the floss back into action. Eventually the jewel is off. This took maybe 10 minutes.
  5. Dear all I want to change power led color of og Xbox but can't remove front panel to gain access to power pcb, what is the easiest way to open it? Thanks
  6. Removing the delay from the window where the game video is running without it blinking when loading every time you make a move, or at least make the video appear before the slider goes down completely
  7. Evening everyone. Tried to post this on /OriginalXbox and for some reason my post isn't going up even though I've been active in it for sometime now. Anyway here is what I am trying to do: Hey fam! I have a 6 Xboxes. 3 are 1.0 and all have chips. 2 Jafars, one x2.0 pro. Most had issues one way or another and I had the chips lying around anyway. So out of convenience at the time, I installed them. I figure I don't need them in there. I already understand the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I just want the chips for other boxes. Definitely not new to the OG, I've just never swapped mods other than chips. I have TSOP'd before, so bridging points is not a problem. I am just trying to figure out steps. These are my thoughts: Drives are all unlocked (partitioned, formatted, no retail/stock dash), so I am thinking pull the drives, rebuild to stock with FatXplorer, install the drive back in the box, then relock with the modchip still in. Pull the modchip and disconnect d0 Bridge points Boot from exploitable game Use SweetDarkDestiny's TSOP MC Flash Program or his flasher disc Profit? Just looking to see if anyone has done something similar and if this process sounds like it will work? Looking for any and all input other than "don't do it." If I mess up, I still have the chips right?
  8. Hey, I've done a RAM upgrade on one of my consoles (1.4) and it's doing the on/off/on/off/on flash orange and red dance. I've reflowed the chips, scoured them with a magnifying glass for bridging and the rest of the board for splashes, and scrubbed the board with IPA hoping that if it was a splash, it'd be knocked loose, but I've had no luck. I'm at the point where I think it might just be some bad memory, so what would be the best way to remove the chips without damaging or moving the surrounding components?
  9. Thank you in advance for any and all help provided, I was fortunate to have come across a X3 chip along with a X3 LCD Face plate. But my XBOX is TSOP, I haven't came across on the "how to" remove the TSOP instructions. Is this a possibility? My xbox is a v1.0 or v1.4(not a v1.6) I have ind bios. I don't think I made a backup of my EEPROM when I did the TSOP, not sure if this is relevant to this.
  10. Hi, I have been searching for a way to disable the profile picture of XBMC4GAMERS. I only have one profile and it is set to auto load. Looking at /system/userdata/profile.xml there is the line <thumbnail pathversion="1"> that shows where the current image is located but if I delete it, there is still an empty square shown.... now how do I get rid of this square?
  11. i have a new bottom shell that i'm going to transfer the guts of another xbox to. i would really like to take the date label off the old shell and put it on the new one(versus writing all the number on a piece of masking tape). is there any way to do this without destroying the label?
  12. If i flash a bios with the skip dvd check will i still be able to boot from dvd on a blank harddrive?
  13. I recently got a green xbox and want to sell my old black xbox. I want to remove the 500GB sotmodded hard drive and replace it with the original 8GB. I know how to do that but I want to be able to use the 500GB drive in my Green xbox - how do I do this? I don't mind formatting the 500GB drive and starting afresh. I have an IDE PC if that's any use. Any help greatly appreciated
