Hello, Some help would be really appreciated. I really don't understand why it occurs. But it's the second PAL OG XBOX 1.6 that "dies" after doing the modchip : Open Xenium with LPC Rebuild. I have successfully followed this tutorial (and the solder joints look good): - 1st one working fine during a week after Xenium mod chip LPC Rebuild + Version 2.3.5 Make MHZ then sudden black screen and after Flashing Red and Light - 2nd one working fine after Xenium mod chip LPC Rebuild + Version 2.3.5 Make MHZ: Then died after one hour same symptom Flashing Red and Green. Is there a way to fix this Red and Green issue? Tried different power supplies did not make a change. Seems to be an issue for the motherboard?

Hey everyone, apologies if this is in the wrong place. I recently bought a component cable from eBay, the ones made from a 360 component cable and standard ogxbox composite. I downloaded enigmah-x and changed from pal to ntsc, enabled 480 and 720p. I plugged it in and there’s a weird green tint to everything. The Xbox splash screen seems ok (the evox logo doesn’t appear greener) but the xbmc menu does. Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this? The composite cable works fine. I even turned up the red setting on my tv but that just made everything orange. I love electronics, why don’t they feel the same? Why can’t I just blow into something and it work? I miss my nes. Thanks again, Rob

Hey all, first post as I stumbled across this page while trying to research my halo edition xbox. I pulled it out of storage and wanted to sell it as I havent used it in forever and am fairly out of the video game collecting these days. Memory is pretty fuzzy on this as it's been awhile, but I bought this new when it came out, used it a good amount and then ended up putting the Xenium Ice modchip in with the solderless adapter. It's been in a closet for at least the past 10 years. I believe the hard drive and disc drive are original, almost positive I never replaced those. I hooked it all up and tested it, works great, the only game I had laying in the closet with it was Sneak King, so I tossed that in to confirm the drive still worked, no issues. The case looks great, no cracks. It is missing one of the rubber feet. Controller, power and video cables are the original ones that came with it. I'd like to get $300 + shipping for it, but am open to offers. Pics attached and happy to take others if anyone needs.

I have a 1.0 and I flashed XBlast to the TSOP then tested each chip as I went. Once all 4 were passing I reinstalled OpenXenium and attempted to boot iND-BIOS-5003. Only, the LED flashes green and it doesn't boot. I tested several homebrew BIOS loaded from OpenXenium and they all have the same problem. I'm considering triple-checking for shorts (or reflowing with hot air) yet I'm surprised because XBlast boots and says all 4 RAM passes. I found a couple of Reddit posts with the exact problem: https://www.reddit.com/r/originalxbox/comments/7fppvw/attempted_128mb_upgrade_wont_boot_flashing_green/ https://www.reddit.com/r/originalxbox/comments/epel27/no_soundvideo_flashing_green_light_after_128mb/ I'd like to avoid doing anything drastic as XBlast finally states all 4 RAM are passing. The only other oddity is (even before this above error) when FTP to OpenXenium the drives (C, E, F) do not show up. Yet, the drives were available when FTP to a homebrew dash like UnleashX. Tested a different XBOX and FTP to OpenXenium all drivers were available.

Hi folks, first time listener, first time caller. I recently inherited a 1.1 console and am going through the motions of getting it rounded out and looking pretty. I went ahead and did the Rocky softmod, and today I successfully converted it over to a 2TB 2.5" WD drive. No issues. I have the MakeMHZ XboxHD+ kit coming tomorrow along with modchip, so I figured I'd go ahead and get this 128MB upgrade knocked out. I'm not a novice solder head by any means, I do a lot of work with my station on a fairly regular basis. I installed all four RAM chips and went to test, got the crappy flashing lights and forced a boot into dash anyway. 2 of the RAM chips didn't pass. No big deal, powered the console off and went back to work. Once I was satisfied with my handiwork (reflowing, checking for bridging, etc) I put everything back together. Now I get no flubber startup, no audio, nothing. The light on the XBOX is solid green and shows no errors. I can't FTP into the XBOX either. Drive eject works fine, the NIC light is flashing in the back when cabled. I've tried the llamma coma tech as well (both sides) and that doesn't seem to force boot the system either. What should I do here?

Trying to rescue a 1.6 box. The unit booted to microsoft dash but dvd rom drive has failed, tried cleaning and pot adjustment, no luck. Next obvious option was installing a modchip.Installed an Aladdin XT plus I had working in another 1.6 as was already flashed. On boot I get the unit cycle on and off until the third attempt where it flashes Green and red really fast. I removed the lpc wiring and modchip, even pinheader, checked for damage, the header is perfect and the xbox boots normally. I have never had an issue like this before. Do I just keep trying to install again or am i missing something. Does the 3 boot attempts mean something? I am unsure to the sequence of events from pressing the power button. Any pointers, help would be appreciated. Just dont want to throw it out. Update, the green / red fragging is not modchip related and happens intermittently when running the box without a modchip. Progressively worse the more boot resets.

I made some homemade og xbox component cables using og xbox av cables and xbox 360 component cables. At first the homemade cables didn't work as I had read the diagram backward. Eventually it worked with what I assumed was fine colors until I took some comparison photos. Once going into xbmc, I noticed that colors were missing, specifically green and red. I've checked all the connections with a multimeter to make sure they go to the correct output. I also checked with a multimeter to make sure nothing was bridged. Everything appears "fine". https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1p4oX9jJtl0ok6f0cWt4hHe7HL04pc1k8?usp=sharing That's some photos showing a comparison photo of my pound hdmi vs my homemade component cables and the connector itself for the component cables. Any advice on what could be happening would be appreciated. edit: Everything is ntsc, incase that's relevant information

Due to some modification that previous owner made, when I turn on the Xbox it's working fine, but the circle is red,but there is no error at all. Its really annoying, I would like to change it back to the original green. Also, when I boot up the xbox the Xbox logo is blue instead of green. I would like to restore this too. Do I have to flash a new bios, or it can be done by only modifying a couple files? Before I reformated the HDD on the title screen there was a "Slayers 2.7" text, so I guess they made all this with that, I mean I dont know what is this Slayers stuff, but it maybe have to do with something with this case.

Hey guys, just wondering if someone could confirm a suspicion of mine. So a while ago I dug out my old OG Xbox (V1.3 I believe) and found it wasn't working, it would switch on for a couple seconds then power off again. Did some research and found that the dreaded clock cap had leaked and one of the traces on the back was broken. So I removed the motherboard with the intention of repairing it, but then life got in the way and I didn't have the time so it sat in pieces for the best part of a year before I found the time to fix it. So I managed to remove the clock cap and clean the board, then I jumped the broken trace with a wire between the test points. (All good there, no shorts that I could find) I also changed the thermal paste on the GPU and CPU to Arctic MX4 while I was at it. So I put it all back together again, plugged it into my old SCART tv, it turns on from the power button fine, has a solid green light, you can hear the hard drive starting up too (still has the original in it right now) but there is no audio or video output to the tv. I tried a different AV cable but got the same result, and I know the tv is good cause my Sega Saturn works fine through the SCART. Also worth mentioning that the DVD drive (Samsung) won't open by it's self. I cleaned up the belt and greased the slides but same result. I tried it with the top of the DVD drive off so I could see and it looks like the laser moves about like it wants to open but the motor makes no attempt to spin up. So in short I have a V1.3 Xbox that shows a solid green light, No video, No audio and the DVD drive doesn't open. From what I've read on here so far it sounds like I may have a corrupt BIOS/coma console on my hands (though I heard V1.0 and V1.1 were more prone to that). What do you guys think?

Hi, hope you can all help, I've done my research, searching and have the same issue as in the other thread, but creating a new thread so that his issue doesn't get complicated. I've had my NTSC box since day one purchase, softmodded when that first became available, upgraded the harddrive. All was working fine when I used the xbox last year. Plugging it in today and I get solid green light, no video, no audio, no flubber, and no eject DVD. What I've done so far. Bought another PAL XBOX from ebay (just in case I can't fix the other one) - it's a 1.6. Swapped what I thought was the faulty DVD drive to the new xbox, it works fine. Tried the red, yellow, white cable and SCART (no image) Tried the HD component box (no image) I've inspected the board, I don't think anything as leaked, here are some pictures. Pics: I don't think any cap has blown leaked. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aoee44V6bKCWkKo9bdQ6KcH5zzHPEg https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aoee44V6bKCWkKo-Vg7utgm8-U14tQ Questions: Is the fix at this point, to try to do the coma fix as above I'm a soldering noob, so going to need to practice that first! Is there a way of getting anything off the old harddrive? I've kept eeprom etc or do I have to try the above first as can't swap the harddrive to the new xbxox. Do I need to check the underside of the motherboard? I've not done this yet. Any help, much appreciated, thank you.

I believe its a Digital Signal problem, Console is set to NTSC-U due to Modding reasons Don't think it makes a difference in pal Anyway, Connecting the simple RGB connections its fine, No green tint/hue. Once a Digital Signal is being out putted it has a Green Hue, This can be via component cable to HDMI. Its currently flashed with IND Bios, Its a 1.4 Motherboard and is TSOP not chipped. Any help is appreciated.

I wonder if it's a RAM compatibility issue or indicating definitely damaged RAM IC? Does anyone know the max temp the RAM ICs are rated for? I am working with a 1.4 revision board and an OpenXenium which should be booting straight to XBlast. I haven't seen much info anywhere about a solid green LED in the process of a RAM upgrade. However when I've got a chip installed it power cycles twice then goes to solid green LED but no video and the OpenXenium LED is yellow whereas if XBlast were to have booted the OpenXenium LED would be green. The board has default K4D263238D-QC50 and I have tested adding K4D263238M-QC50 (salvaged from a 1.0 revision board) and K4D263238F-QC50 (bought new on eBay but I used them). No additional RAM boots and works fine. Does the yellow LED on the OpenXenium indicate anything useful? What about the solid green LED on the console? Thanks

I found an original xbox. I don't know much about it. It was opened, but I doubt that it was modded. I bought cables, which were lacking. I tried to connect it to my flat panel tv via a composite to HDMI converter. I can see the blue screen on the HDMI channel, and I can see it switch from 720 to 1080p, so I am convinced that is working. I never see anything from the XBOX though. All I get is a flashing green light. I don't have any idea of what's wrong or how to go about fixing it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I have a tsoped original xbox ver. 1.1 motherboard, clock capacitor removed, and running indi-bios. In rare occasions, when I turn on the console..I get a flashing green light with no image nor sound on screen. What can the green flashing light code mean? I tried unplugging the console from power strip, pressing/holding power button for 30sec. and when I re-connect the console and turn it on..I still get a flashing green light. But usually the console turns on fine. I'm not sure if it's a bad ribbon cable, or a bad sata adapter. I do know I have a foxcom IDE ribbon cable, and I do have a good quality sata adapter. The capacitors on power supply and motherboard look fine, they are not bloated, nor leaking. (capacitors look new) Thanks in advance

Hi all Tonight I finally got round to swapping out my HDD. Thought it was all going swimmingly until I tried to boot it up and all I get now is the a blue Xbox logo and the eject switch LED flashes between red, orange and green The box is a v1.4 fitted with an Aladdin chip and I had previously flashed the chip with a Evox M8+ bios which was working fine So tonight I swapped out the HDD for a Toshiba 500gb sata drive, fitted a sata\ide adapter and switched the jumper to the Master position and changed the ribbon cable for a 80 wire version Booted up the box with an OGXboxInstaller 2021 disc and it detected that a new HDD had been fitted, formatted this and went with the F: drive option Rebooted and used the standard settings in xboxpartioner to allocate max space to F: The rebooted again and installed xbox4gamers as the single default dashboard Thought that I'd be all good to go after that but no the xbox won't boot, just get the flashing led issue Any ideas of what I've done wrong? Thanks

Hello All I've been looking for this theme for days.... I have seen it mentioned elsewhere but no link, only the posters.jpg. How do I get the green footer to appear? Is it in the Textures.xpr? I've lookd through it and can't find an image that looks like its this footer so I can replace it and repack my own XPR. Also, on the root menu I can only get flat jpg posters and when replacing with 3D png's in Textures.xpr its flattened to jpg. When I change the view to 3D I can't get the image to change to my png 3D covers. I've tried _Resources but thats ignored. Thanks in advance

Hi all I was playing Black earlier (great game) and left it for a while, came back and it was frozen. Not too surprised. So a couple of restarts later and it's just getting worse. To the point where I can only get into XBMC for a minute or two, but can't launch a game without it freezing. At this point I can still hold the white button and get into the X3 boot menu. The power supply looks in a bad way, and I have an identical model lying around, so I swap it out and - no dice, pretty much the same thing as before. Try changing the hard drive: Acts up a lot, get one or two boots out of it before i'm back to square one again. Notice I can still boot into that blue screen where you can flash stuff, I figured maybe my BIOS had gone bad with all the freezes and restarts. Drop a new bios into a folder named C:/BIOS. Load back into the blue screen and manage to start flashing, gets about 3/4s of the way through and it just freezes again. At this point it's completely fucked, just fragging, occasionally it gets to the "X" BIOS screen. Absolutely heartbroken at this, it belonged to a friend of a friend who died in 2005 in a motorcycle accident. If anyone has any idea what could be up with it i'm all open to ideas or paying for repairs (UK) if someone really knows what they're doing. I really don't get it, I pretty much ruled out the HDD, i don't THINK it's the PSU since i replaced it and same again. Just don't know what's up with it. Won't boot into a Hexen 2019 disc I made either. Please help!!!!

Hello, guys Today I updated my softmoded Xbox with Rocky5 softmod and xbmx4gamers ...everything was ok, until I started to download artwork downloader which is over 600 mb and placed it in E: In the same time I uploaded a game with size of 4gb by mistake in E: again instead of F: So, now the xbox starts green animation and flashes like to start the dashboard, but continue on black screen. My only suggestion is that I consumed the entire E: and on that drive is the xbmc4gamers folder, too....I dont know, but if the dashboard need some space on start maybe that cause the black screen...any ideas to help??? Also, is it possible to connect the hdd to a pc and xplorer360 app to erace that game from E: and to make some space on that drive??? Any help is welcome! Thank you in advance!!!

So I ordered a couple of generic 500gb HDD’s on Amazon for 2 Xbox’s both are v1.6 and mod chipped, they just happened to all be WD green. Wrote a 500gb hdd image to both drives as I have done with many in the past, new ide cable and adapter etc but non of the WD green drives will boot?? Is there an issue with these drives and OG Xbox’s?

As the title states I am repairing and modding a green 1.6v Halo edition xbox. This console was my wife's and we have had it in our closet for years. I decided to pull it out and see if this thing works for her to play as she refuses to play my PC or xbox one. She doesn't enjoy the new games as I do and wants to play older games she used to play as a child. As of now I have broken down the console and thoroughly cleaned it. I removed the heatsinks and removed all the old thermal paste and replaced it with noctua NT-H1, which is what I use in my PC builds. I noticed that the 5 capacitors closest to the CPU are all bulging and need to be replaced, so I ordered those. For mods, as of this moment I will be installing the Openxenium chip with the LPC rebuild board. I want to install a 2Tb hard drive and I know I'll have to upgrade the IDE cable and ad an adapter. Can someone add part numbers for the cable and adapter. I'll be using the WD Blue 5400 rpm drive for this. I have not made up my mind on BIOS and want to play around with several to find the one I know my wife can use with no problems. If anyone has some suggestions on BIOS let me hear them. Last I want to add some RGB lighting to the build, nothing crazy just a nice soft glow is what I'm shooting for. Not sure where to hook up to power and guess I'll have to search for some power pinouts and such. I would love to see some of your builds with lighting to get some ideas. Anyway I will be taking everyone along this journey as I build and learn this console. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated and I look forward to talking to and learning from you guys.

Hi, I picked up a original Xbox off Facebook Marketplace the other day. After turning it on the light started blinking green and orange. I noticed it was modded. I have no knowledge in modding but it has a mod called unleashx or evolutionx with fce and neogensis. Fce and Neogensis have over 100 plus old games. When im playing a game disc the light does not blink and just stays green. When no disc is being used the light blinks green and orange. I was playing Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 game for about an hour yesterday and it was running fine with fan running normally. Is the green and orange blinking something I should worry about? Also how can I fix the blinking?
