  1. How much power is available from one of the USB ports on the OGX360? What are the power requirements of the Hyperkin Duke controller? With its LCD and dedicated microcontroller plus the controller's processor itself. the power draw is most likely more than one of the OGX360's USB ports can provide.
  2. I think he (N64 Freak) has sold the last one he intends to make. Check his Current Products For Sale subforum post. He said he wasn't planning on making any more of the HDMI mods unless there was enough interest in doing another run. Not exactly sure how many would need to be pre-ordered or interested in purchasing them before he will make more. P.S. I just went to the subforum and her had a new post there. Looks like he needs interest for at least 10 of the internal HDMI boards. PM @N64 freak about your interest in purchasing an internal HDMI mod. They are not cheap. 70€ for the HDMI mod itself plus S&H. Mine shipped to U.S. was either by trackable shipping at 8€ or a non-trackable option at 3,70€. I opted for trackable shipping for a total of 78€. Prices may vary as I ordered one at the end of January this year.
  3. The Xbox Softmodding Tool Evox skin looks more like the Evoxdash with it the way it is. The skin.xml file can be modified to move the menu text between the horizontal lines and changed from a vertical menu to a horizontal menu by editing the <Menu>...</Menu> section of the file: <Menu Horizontal="False" Smooth="False" Align="Middle" ShowIcon="False" Rotate="False" ShowArrows="False" Scroll="1"> <Position Top="257" Left="99" Width="441" Height="195" Fixed="True" FixAt="4" MaxItem="0"/> <Font>font3</font> <Preview EnableAudio="False" Top="0" Left="0" Width="0" Height="0" /> </Menu> Change Horizontal="False" to Horizontal="True" and edit the <Position /> line to move the text between the two horizontal lines. Top, Left, Width, and Height values TBD. P.S. I'm working on moving the text and will update this post with the TBD values when I have them. Not really liking how it looks. FixAt doesn't do what I thought. It sets the position of the item that's selected in the list. So far changed the <Menu>...</Menu> section of skin.xml to: <Menu Horizontal="True" Smooth="False" Align="Left" ShowIcon="False" Rotate="False" ShowArrows="False" Scroll="1"> <Position Top="339" Left="168" Width="441" Height="25" Fixed="True" FixAt="1" MaxItem="1"/> <Font>font3</font> <Preview EnableAudio="False" Top="0" Left="0" Width="0" Height="0" /> </Menu> It's still not quite right. Can't get it to only display 1 item at a time from the list of menu items.
  4. Edit the skin.xml file and find the <Menu> line, for example: <Menu Horizontal="False" Smooth="True" Align="Middle" ShowIcon="False" Rotate="False" ShowArrows="False" Scroll="1"> To show the arrows change ShowArrows="False" to ShowArrows="True" similar for icons to be displayed that you asked before, change ShowIcon="False" to ShowIcon="True"
  5. Edit the skin.xml file of the skin you are using and change the following line: <LoadingScreen ShowInfo="False"> to <LoadingScreen ShowInfo="True"> P.S. If you use one the UnleashX's built-in skins, you cannot edit the skin.xml file. It is stored inside the default.xbe file of UnleashX itself and cannot be edited. Built-in skin names are those not surrounded by < and > symbols in the Settings -> Skins list.
  6. Those values can easily be added by editing the skin's skin.xml file and placing them at a location on the screen that you would like them to be displayed. The skin's as provided are of a clean minimalistic design. A user can modify the default Xbox Softmodding Skins, design their own based on the skins provided or add additional skins that provide this information. Read the skinning section of the Unleashx Tutorial Guide for more information on how to add these items to an already existing skin. If you have questions about editing the skins, start a new topic in the UnleashX Skins subforum. You could also add some skins that have these items present. Additional skins found here: Previews of these skins can be seen at https://imgur.com/a/8P1Hz
  7. Again video settings to stick have to be done in the MS dashboard not UnleashX settings. The settings in UnleashX only affect the display while running UnleashX. Once you run a different app, the settings stored in the configuration EEPROM. Those changed by the MS dashboard are used.
  8. When in NTSC mode you have to use the MS dashboard to enable the high definition resolutions. Force Progressive in NKPatcher Settings only forces games to run in progressive mode after you've enabled the high definition modes with the MS dashboard when in NTSC mode. The UnleashX options for high definition modes only work for UnleashX dashboard after enabling them in the MS dashboard and using an AV pack or cable that supports high definition resolutions.
  9. When you boot the console with a disc in the tray, the softmod is not activated. A softmod only activates after the MS dashboard loads which does not happen with a disc loaded into the DVD tray before the MS dashboard starts. The stock MS BIOS attempts to load default.xbe from the DVD disc if found runs it before it ever tries to run the MS dashboard off the hard drive which is when the softmod gets enabled. The eject ring remains GREEN. It does not change to ORANGE that shows that the softmod is active. Enable persistent softmod in NKPatcher settings if you want to have the softmod enabled before the game disc loads.
  10. Easy question first. To use 480p/720p/1080i you have to change to NTSC mode and have a AV pack/cable connected that supports high definition resolutions. Microsoft never released such a AV pack/cable in the PAL regions.
  11. What's happening with the first Xbox that you say is no longer working. "No longer working" can mean lots of things and many are fixable.
  12. Those are the last or next to last BIOS versions released by the various development teams for the Xbox. There are many more earlier releases but it's best not to use any of them.
  13. Try booting a Hexen 2018 disc. Oh wait, the console does not boot to a replacement dashboard anymore. Slayers installer disc messed up your softmod installation. I think you'll have to hotswap connect the hard drive to a PC and use XboxHDM to fix the files stored on the hard drive. Type in xbrowser, not xboxhd when prompted to do so after booting into Linux. Have the MS Dashboard files in XboxHDM's hdm/C folder or HDD_files/C folder depending upon which version of XboxHDM you are using. XboxHDM23USB runs under Windows 10 64-bit version. The Xbox HDD connects to the PC using a compatible USB-to-HDD interface adapter.
  14. Which BIOS to use depends on your Xbox version more so than the modchip being used. Most BIOSes are 256KB in size. If the modchip has a 512KB bank size, the BIOS's dot bin file is written two (2) times consecutively to fill the bank size of the modchip. There are only a couple of BIOSes compatible with a 1.6 so you have a very short list to pick from. Older revisions have a much larger selection to use. V1.6 BIOSes M8plus_16.bin (Size: 256KB) x2_5035_v16plus_512k.bin (Size: 512KB) V1.0-1.4 BIOSes Size: 512KB x2_5035_vOld_512k.bin Size: 256KB M8plus.bin x2_4983.06_256k.bin x2_4983.67_256k.bin 4981.06_256k.bin 4891.67_256k.bin iND-BiOS.5003.06.bin iND-BiOS.5003.67.bin iND-BiOS.Beta.Feb-11-05.06.bin iND-BiOS.Beta.Feb-11-05.67.bin
  15. Install a good copy of the MS dashboard to the root of the C drive. Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool Extras disc has it. Hexen 2018 disc has a copy of it - StockFiles/C folder. Copy it to the C drive of the Xbox.
  16. The iND-BiOS by default should look for the partition table on the hard drive. If found, use it instead of any LBA48 setting, 06 or 67, preset in the bios's dot bin file that you flashed to the modchip/TSOP.
  17. The drive is already unlocked so you can connect it to a PC and use Xplorer360 or XboxHDM's xbrowser option to copy it to your PC's hard drive. On the PC, move the file to the folder where XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 is extracted and lock it using the lock hard drive option in the main menu. As delivered using XboxHDM23USB does require running a Windows 64-bit OS and connecting the Xbox HDD to the PC with a USB-to-HDD interface adapter. A short incomplete usage XboxHDM23USB Beta 3 pictorial. (Beta 2 and 3 are slightly different. B2 is not preconfigured to install anything the user has to add files to the C and E drive they want to be copied during the Xbox drive build process while Beta 3 is pre-configured to install a bootable (no-original-game-disc-required) Xbox Softmodding Tool installer.
  18. Setting the Timezone On the Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool modded console, use the Extras Disc or upload via FTP a copy of the 5960 version of the MS Dashboard files to the root of the C drive. Use UnleashX's menu to Launch MS Dashboard or the file manager to browse to the C drive and select xboxdash.xbe. Edit the time zone in the Settings menu. Update: I forgot to include a link to download the MS Dashboard files or where to get the Extras Disc - go into the current Xbox Softmodding Tool build's subfolder, as of today Build v1.1.6, then into the Extras Disc subfolder. Download the dot iso file found there and burn this disc image file to DVD-R media. Boot it in your Xbox.
  19. The first thing to do after softmodding is to backup the eeprom.bin file to your PC. Installation of Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool told you several times to make sure you backup the eeprom.bin file once the softmod process was complete. Not to do anything else until you did so.
  20. If you are getting error 05, NKPatcher in Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool is broken. It should not leave the hard drive in an unlocked state. It should have locked it with the new password generated with the new NULL'd password. Did it show that there were several different steps being performed when you NULL'd the key? The last step should have been locking the drive. You didn't happen to power off the console in the middle of the process, did you?
  21. No need to rebuild. The HDD needs to be locked. Not sure which HDDKey it will need. The original or the new NULL'd key. NKPatcher should have performed several steps when it NULLs the HDDKey: Unlocked the hard drive Backup the old eeprom data NULL(zero) the HDDKey value stored in the configuration EEPROM Backup the new eeprom data Lock the hard drive with the new password generated with the NULL'd key.
  22. The hard drive only needs to be locked again. Not sure why it's not locked with the new NULL'd HDDKey password.
  23. NKPatcher should lock the hard drive when you NULL the key. I don't see why you'd get error 05 (HDD unlocked) if in fact you only used NKPatcher to NULL the HDDKey. Somehow you unlocked the hard drive. From afterdawn.com's XBOX Error Codes Explained - Go Here First! web page: 5 - kernel - HDD not locked (The retail xbox bioses require the hd to be locked) When you upgrade your hard disk drive for one that is larger, you most of the times use a new hard drive that you bought in the shop. Now, when you put this hdd in your xbox and you try to boot up with your chip off. It gives you error 5. Why you ask? Well i will try to explain it simple. The original (also called "Retail") hard drive is locked by MS. Why did they lock the harddrive? Well if it wasn't it wouldve been more than easy (in the start of xbox hacking) for hackers to change content on it. Thats why MS locks it. It is just a security measure. This locking proces uses information thats on the motherboard. The "Lock" on a xbox hard drive contains information that is based on the harddrive itself and the motherboard it came with. One thing that makes this clear: You can not change a retail harddrive with another one from an other not modded xbox. With every xbox there is only ONE i repeat ONE compatible harddisk drive. That is, if they are locked. If you don't mod your xbox (tsop or modchips) you can not change harddrives. Not even from another xbox. However when your xbox IS modified you can change your harddisk for almost every other harddisk (thats UNLOCKED). This means that even when your xbox is modified, you can not just put another (retail) XBOX harddisk in your xbox. However some smart people made programs that can lock or unlock your xbox harddisk on the fly. So when does the error occur? The only time this error should occur is when you boot up your xbox in original mode AND you have a harddisk in your xbox that is not yet locked. So now you ask what do i have to do to make your xbox work again? Well the answer is pretty easy. Boot up your xbox with the chip on. Preferably with a slayer evo-x cd. Now you choose "Eeprom management." Than you choose: "Lock hdd." It takes one second. After its ready it should say something like "Done" When it is "Done" just turn off your xbox. Disable your chip and try to boot in original mode. Now there should be no more error 5. Update: Fixed the black on white background font it was a bit too bright.
  24. Flicker Fucker.exe attached. It's build 007 the latest ever released. I found the pre-built executable for it but not the source code that used to be available online as well. There's a compatibility list on the Wayback Machine: http://web.archive.org/web/20070527003321/http://www.seedwiki.com/wiki/ff_compatibility_list More info on Flicker Fucker at it's old web site archived by the Wayback Machine too but not the executable or source http://web.archive.org/web/20070524122228/http://xbox.nugnugnug.com/FlickerFucker/ Flicker Fucker.exe MD5 Hash: 891093DDEE06ED9DC22EAC8EF21AE0A9
