  1. Yes, still looking for a copy of the Xenium Gold's full flash memory dump.
  2. No, a 1.6 Xbox PSU is not compatible with a 1.0-1.5 console. No way to convert them to be so. They use a different standby voltage 5Vdc compared to older models with 3.3Vdc.
  3. Yes, easiest way is to install a modchip and boot HeXEn 2018 with a new hard drive connected. Either an IDE drive > 8GBs that is lockable (e.g., not a Maxtor QuickView hard drive) or a SATA hard drive up to 2TB with a compatible IDE-to-SATA adapter and 80-wire 40-pin 24" long high-speed IDE cable. Or, with several additional hardware and software tools read the configuration EEPROM's content so you can build a new locked drive for the Xbox by using a USB-to-HDD Interface adapter, a PC and XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 or Beta 3. The Beta 2 release needs to have the MS Dashboard 5960 file set added to it while Beta 3 is pre-configured to install a bootable Xbox Softmodding Tool to the hard drive - no original game disc is needed for this isntaller to run after the drive is built. As for the DVD drive, you can use any original Xbox DVD drive in any other console. You will need it connected for the Xbox's BIOS/Kernel to not display an error on startup. (If you install a modchip, booting a properly configured modified BIOS/kernel, you can bypass the DVD drive check.)
  4. I is too! Welcome to OGXbox.com. Mod it or lose it, KaosEngineer
  5. For the Xbe Shortcut Maker v2.0 the path should look something like the following: not E/Apps/Xbmc4Gamers but E:\Apps\Xbmc4Gamers\default.xbe It's to be the full path including the XBE filename, default.xbe, in the XBMC4Gamers folder.
  6. Do you have a parts list for the X-Cuter (one t or two?)
  7. There's no firmware source code inside. All I see is a link to XERC2 firmware, no XERC 2 XE. Aren't they a bit different? There were a few other versions XERC 2 Original, ?? XERC 2 ??, XERC 2 SE along with several XERC CME / CME SE (Case Modder's Editions) C5, C6 and C7. The code for all these versions well at least the CME/CME SE versions have to be different but can only find the XERC 2 firmware source code.
  8. If you look at the source code for Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool, you will see what is happening. To understand how the Xbox boots, read Matt Borgerson's online article titled Deconstructing the Xbox Boot ROM. Simply put upon power on, the Xbox's BIOS is decrypted and a copy of the decrypted kernel is copied into RAM. Execution of the code is passed over to this RAM copy of the kernel which controls the console. The NKPatcher code modifies this RAM copy of the kernel to apply patches to defeat the stock Kernel's security features and adds LBA48 support.
  9. Not that I know of. Is your game the PAL or NTSC version? THe offline DLC installer may only work with the NTSC version of the game.
  10. A modchip is a modchip. The OpenXenium has more features and can hold multiple BIOSes that the user can select to boot different BIOSes. The Aladdin can only hold 1 - 256KB BIOS at a time. The OpenXenium can hold several 256KB, 512KB or 1MB BIOSes (don't know of any of the latest BIOSes available that are this big though) in its available free storage space which I believe is 1.5MBs. More details available at @Ryzee119's github repository: https://github.com/Ryzee119/OpenXenium The OpenXenium modchip has it's own operating system (OS) - XeniumOS that controls the chip and supports locking and unlocking the hard drive without any other Xbox application. The Aladdin modchip cannot do so. You have to have the console modded - modchip installed and additional software installed to lock and unlock the hard drive. ConfigMagic Final 1.6 or Rocky5's updated v1.6.1 version are two such applications.
  11. No, the Aladdin modchip comes pre-flashed with Evolution-X (EvoX) M8plus_16.bin (Xbox v1.6 version. It will boot on older versions too but is suggested to reflash with the version meant for them.). Best to reflash it with another version of this BIOS with the latest LBA48 patch applied as this pre-flashed BIOS has an older LBA48 patch not supported by XBPartitioner v1.3 to properly prepare the extended partitions on a new larger hard drive. It also doesn't have a few other settings set to their preferred values. And, the proper version for your Xbox revision. M8plus.bin for 1.0-1.5 Xboxes or M8plus_16.bin for 1.6's available on the Hexen 2018 installer disc to reflash it via its menu options; however, under much longer names than those two dot bin files I mentioned.
  12. It's a hard drive image to restore back to a 2TB hard drive. HDDGuru's HDD Raw Copy Tool, a Windows application, is used to write the .imgc (compressed image) back to a hard drive. It will overwrite everything on the drive so best to have a new clean/empty drive to restore to. Origins is an XBMC skin - preview video
  13. You can flash a different BIOS to it. Just make sure it has the same LBA48 configuration - .67 or .06. Since you've used a 2TB HDD, a .67 version is required and partitioning the extended partitions with XBPartitioner v1.3 using 64KB clusters and having it write a partition table to the hard drive - Format and write table operation You can change the dashboard either by editing the E:\x2config.ini file's dashboard entries or creating a shortcut to load the dashboard you want to use - edit the full path to the replacement dashboard's default.xbe file on the hard drive and name it evoxdash.xbe. Here's an example using the Windows application Xbe Shortcut Maker 2.0: After setting the path, change the Title Name and Title ID, click on the Create Shortcut Xbe... button to save the shortcut xbe file with the name evoxdash.xbe. Rename the current C:\evoxdash.xbe file on the Xbox's hard drive and upload the new shortcut file. Reboot. I don't have a good answer for this query. It's (very) slow compared to today's PCs transferring data to a hard drive. Edit: E:\x2config.ini not E:\x2-config.ini that I original posted. Fixed in text above.
  14. Is your console an NTSC or PAL version? If PAL, have you changed it to NTSC mode by running the EnigmaH Video Switcher v2 application. This Xbox application is known by a few other names: NTSC-PAL Switcher, Video Switcher v2, Video Mode Switch, video_select_v2_enigmah-x, etc.).

    Dead Hhd

It can be fixed but much easier after installing a modchip. Hard Drive Replacement Without a Modchip You need an EEPROM reader, PC with a 9-pin serial port or Raspberry Pi and 3 dupont jumper wires to read the contents of the serial configuration EEPROM on the motherboard. Using a PC with a serial EEPROM reader, run PonyProg software to read the content of the chip or with a Raspberry Pi use the PiPROM application. Save the 256 bytes of data to a file named eeprom.bin. Build a new HDD with from a PC running Windows 7 or 10 64-bit version using XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 or 3 (requires a new hard drive - IDE or SATA, if SATA an IDE-to-SATA adapter and 80-wire 40-pin cable to replace the one in the Xbox), and a USB-to-HDD interface adapter to connect the hard drive to the PC. The Xbox hard drive needs to be locked so copy the eeprom.bin file read/saved earlier to the folder where you extract XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 or Beta 3 to on your PC before running it. XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 needs a copy of the MS dashboard files (latest version is 5960) added to the provided C folder. Beta 3 is pre-configured to install a bootable version of Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool installer. Modchip Hard Drive Replacement With a modchip installed a new hard drive and IDE-to-SATA adapter and new high-speed 80-wire 40-pin IDE cable (24" length) is required but no EEPROM reader or building the Xbox drive using a PC. Boot Hexen 2018, format the drive and build a new NTSC or PAL hard drive.
  16. Guess, I don't know why there's a problem. The manual states that the HDMI IN 1 supports 480p and 480i along with many other higher resolutions. HDMI IN 1, IN 2, IN 3 (ARC) (Support 4K resolution, HDCP 2.2-compatible) HDMI Video: 4096 × 2160p (24, 50, 60 Hz), 3840 × 2160p (24, 25, 30, 50, 60 Hz), 1080p (30, 50, 60 Hz), 1080/24p, 1080i (50, 60 Hz), 720p (30, 50, 60 Hz), 720/24p, 576p, 576i, 480p, 480i. Are you using HDMI IN 1, IN 2 or IN 3? I'm not sure why they have this statement about HDMI IN 2 or IN 3 in the user manual: * HDMI IN 2 and IN 3 support High-Quality HDMI formats such as 4K 60p/50p 4:2:0 10bit, 4:4:4, 4:2:2. Although, the * I see is to direct one to it is next to Satellite antenna* in the manual's Input/Output jacks section. Other's have had problems on some high-definition TV sets when using these HD Link adapters (Xbox-to-HDMI adapters by Pound Technology, Hyperkin or clones of them) showing a blank screen every few seconds. Not sure if it was only while displaying 480i/480p or 720p and 1080i as well.
  17. Was there a game save present on the hard drive for the game you installed DLC for before you ran the DLC installer?
  18. Most likely the 4K TV doesn't support 480i or 480p resolutions. Check the specifications for your brand/model of 4K TV's supported resolutions.
  19. Yes. I believe it's a check for the presence of the DVD drive attached to the IDE bus and/or the power/control signal cable to the motherboard by the System Management Controller (a PIC processor), not that it won't boot if a DVD is loaded into the tray on bootup. ind-bios 5004.67 - the BIOS is 256KBs in size and Evoxdash will be replicated it 4 times to fill the 1MB TSOP flash chip on the motherboard. You also need to upload the ind-bios.cfg file to the root directory (top-level directory) of the Xbox's C drive. Only needed if you have a younger sibling that may mess things up for you by trying to flash it and pulls power or turns off the console during the flashing process. Until a replacement dashboard is installed to the hard drive, the MS dashboard will load unless there's a disc in the DVD tray on power up. It doesn't really matter if you load the Hexen disc in after the MS dashboard has started just power cycle the console to start it. HeXEn's menu doesn't appear for about a minute so wait for it. Boot HeXEn and try to flash it. If you get badk the ID of 09 00 unknown flash, they are not made. Those two bytes are the first two bytes of the Xbox's BIOS, not the Flash Chip's ID code that should be returned when the bridges have been made to enable writing to the TSOP chip.
  20. OpenXenium ~$25 (Multiple BIOS support with 2MB of flash for BIOS storage) XeniumOS + other modded BIOSes. Its a new open source clone of the old Xenium modchips. (https://github.com/Ryzee119/OpenXenium) Aladdin XT plus 2 (aka XT 4032) ~$5 (1 - 256KB BIOS)
  21. You need to know the base size of the BIOS. X2 4981, 4983 or older versions with lower numbered values are 256KBs in size. There's one lower numbered version, X2 4978 size 1MB, that had a built-in FTP server. X2 5035 is 512KB M8 and M8plus are 256KB BIOSes. ind-bios 5003 and 5004 are 256KB BIOSes. If you see other sizes mentioned, the base BIOS file has been stored multiple consecutive times to fill the space. For example, if you see an ind-bios 5003 stating it is 1MB in size, it is actually 4 copies of the same BIOS: ind-bios 5003 + ind-bios 5003 + ind-bios 5003 + ind-bios 5003 Each being the base 256KB size written multiple consecutive times to a file to create the larger sized dot bin file. Edit: Updated information on larger X2 BIOS version 4978 - 1MB not 512KB.
  22. Yes, if you use Evoxdash to flash the TSOP. It will write 4 consecutive copies of the 256KB BIOS dot bin file to fill the 1MB flash memory chip.
  23. Not on a TSOP. You can't put a 256KB BIOS in the first quarter of the 1MB flash chip and leave the remaining 256KB (2 - 512KB bank split TSOP) or 768KB empty. You fill the entire chip 4x256KB BIOS or split the TSOP in half for 2 - 512KB BIOS banks - 2x256KB (not recommended though). Evoxdash writes multiple copies of the BIOS's dot bin file to fill the chip's size it detects based on values stored in the evox.ini file's Flash = lines. If you want to use 2 BIOS's (2x256KB or 1x512KB + 1x512KB or 2x256KB) you'll need to create a 1MB dot bin file. The BIOS's code reads some data values from the start of the flash chip's address space and other data gets read from the end of the 1MB x 16 memory space.
  24. Not all of them, the one @nikeymikey posted still works.
  25. Yes, @nikeymikey posted a link to the copy he has stored on OneDrive. EWJ 212 Standalone.7z
