  1. Some games will not work as they have filenames too long for the FATX filesystem and can only be played from original media or a mounted (attached) XISO-format dot iso file.
  2. which file share host there are several different sites used in all those links? I'm assuming you mean zippyshare. I have Ad Block plus installed in Chrome and have never had to install any Malware to download the files. You do have to sometimes click on the download link several times before one of the clicks actually does start the file download. I believe most of those files are available in the Downloads section of emuxtras.net. You do have to signup for a free account there to gain access to that section of their web site. There's a lot more than the above files in their download section. Note: www.theisozone.com that had those files is no longer online. They went offline over a year ago. A new site has recently started up but it is not the original site where they were available.
  3. Because they take less space on the hard drive when there are lots of tiny files. On a 512GB+ partition, each of those files less than 64KB in size each take 64KBs, 1 cluster, of hard drive space to be stored. There's also a script for XBMC to do the process for you. Upload all the XISO format ISOs to your Games folder and the attach.xbe app and I believe it creates the subfolders, copies the attach.xbe app to it and moves the ISO there and changes the XBE title name to that of the game's default.xbe file found inside the ISO. And, some games have filenames that are not allowed on an FATX formatted partition. Names longer than 42 characters or with characters not allowed by the filesystem.
  4. They won't be until you put each XISO format dot iso file in separate subfolder along with a copy of the NKPatcher driveimageutils' attach.xbe app renamed to default.xbe. You also have to rename the internal XBE Title to the name you want each game to appear as in the replacement dashboard's Games menu. Use UnleashX's File Explorer to rename the internal XBE Title of each copy of the attach app. Browse to the renamed attach app, default.xbe file, so it's highlighted and press the White button for the Select options menu to appear. D-pad up to the Rename XBE Title menu item then press (A). Use the onscreen keyboard to edit and save the game name. https://imgur.com/9CbLEtL After doing all of those steps for each game, they appear in the dashboard's Games menu.
  5. Too damaged or the Xbox DVD drive's laser is going out. I'm not exactly sure why all the original Xbox DVD drives seem to be dying. No research has been done to verify the actual cause of the drives failure. Is it the laser, other part of the reading head assembly or something else failing on these drives?
  6. There's also @Kekule's LPC2LCD adapter based on @Ryzee119's AladdinLCD complex programmable logic device (CPLD) code. However, a new printed circuit board has been designed for a cleaner layout of the connections to program the Lattice LC4032V CPLD and connect an HD44780-based LCD module to it. Note: If you plan on installing the LCD module in the Xbox by making a cutout in the front panel, make sure the overall dimensions are not too big for it to fit the available space.
  7. It may not be the diode that's shorted. Another component attached to it in the circuit can make it appear that way. To properly test it, you need to remove it from the circuit (unsolder it from the printed circuit board).
  8. You can. Ryzee119's AladdinLCD - Convert the cheap AladdinXT 4032 Original Xbox modchip to an LCD driver for TSOP modded consoles. https://github.com/Ryzee119/AladdinLCD
  9. Buy an original used copy of the game and rip it with DVD2Xbox. Don't rely on Arcade Punks' content to work!
  10. OpenXenium and SPI2019Par plus there must be an LCD too not pictured on a v1.6 Xbox. Recently modded to have those devices. Amazed someone sold it to you. Where's the white sheathed cable go to on the back of the console and out through the RF shielding on the right-hand side of the picture? What's it's purpose?
  11. You can connect a PC drive to the IDE cable and leave the Xbox's DVD power/control cable connected to the stock XBOX DVD drive's controller board. The PC drive won't read original game disks but backups can be read.
  12. Not that they were no good. There just seem to be ghosts in the machine - works of some of them.
  13. Okay, I had not remembered that it worked in another console with this same disc. I should have though. You posted a list of all the consoles you tried. 1.4 Xboxes have lot of little gotchas. Pound Technology HD-Link video output anomalies, DVD drive problems, what else?
  14. How big is the download you have of CoinOPS 8 Massive? IIRC, it's over 63GBs compressed.
  15. Also found the file you are looking for - archive.org's Wayback Machine has captured a copy of it from xbox-scene.com. http://web.archive.org/web/20140804234745/http://dwl.xbox-scene.com/~xbox/xbox-scene/tools/bios/x2_Config_Maker_v5035-0.5.9PC.rar
  16. No, it will not. You have to build a circuit to pull signals from the 8164's control board to simulate signals a stock Xbox DVD drive sends and receives from the System Management Controller via the 12 pin all yellow or brown/white wire cable. This cable can be used to power the 8164 as well instead of using a Molex Y-power splitter. To install a softmod, the DVD drive has to be able to read ORIGINAL game disks. There's an xbox8164adapter.zip file on the Internet that is the flashing tool with modified firmware to allow the LG-8164B to read original Xbox games. Or, at least, that's what it is supposed to be.
  17. The latest version of X2 Config Maker for PC that I find is v2.7.2. Is this the app you are talking about? Attached it if posted links don't work for you: x2ConfigMakerPCv2.7.2.rar
  18. From the Wayback Machine's capture of xbox-scene.com's modchip pictures: X3 - http://web.archive.org/web/20141027150737/http://www.xbox-scene.com/modchips/xecuter3_pictures.html and X3CE - http://web.archive.org/web/20150510044644/http://www.xbox-scene.com/modchips/xecuter3ce_pictures.html
  19. It's not really an X3 Control Panel (X3CP) PCB as the silkscreen shows in the Gerber files. It's an X3 Reset/Eject Adapter PCB. Item #3 in the X3 Parts List image below. (I need to try and find one of these Parts List images for the X3CE too if Team Xecuter ever released one. Isn't it's PCB a different color? I need to double check. Edit: Yes it is, the X3CE is RED on the back (logo) side and WHITE on the component side.)
  20. Check the directory listing of the files on the DVD (D:\) on the Xbox What are the sizes of default.xbe and config.xml?
  21. You must mean component cable for an High Definition AV Pack, not composite in the first sentence. If the screen gets jumbled when you start a game, you must have a 1.6 console. The Xcalibur video encoder does that on v1.6 consoles. You'll need to install XBMC4Xbox and the 480p game loader script to patch the games so they run properly. Or, you can use XBMC4Gamers. I believe this pre-built distribution of it has the script installed.
  22. Which AV cable are you using? Not that it should make any difference. I'm using the standard definition composite cable in all of my testing.
  23. Are all the Samsung drives listed in your table the same drive that boot some installer discs but not others?
  24. By Similar operations during the startup process, I mean: When powered on, the flubber animation plays, the DVD heads move to recognize the HeXEN 2018 disc that's preloaded in the DVD tray then beneath the big X logo appears: Xecuter Rox My Box More data is read from the disc and the front panel Eject ring LEDs turn RED. There's a long delay of about 40-45 seconds that I believe is the processing of the config.xml file for UnleashX. Next, the big Xbox logo with Xecuter logo below it fade to a blank screen and in a few seconds finally, HeXEn's main menu appears and options from it can be selected and executed. I never see an UnleashX logo appear between the fade out of the big X screen and the appearance of the menu. Sorry, I did not make it clear what was happening in my previous post. The burned disc I have made for HeXEn 2017, 2018 and TruHeXEn 2019 all work. They all boot to the main menu and operations can be performed from the menu. My Xbox is a v1.1 and has a Philips DVD drive.
  25. On my Xbox with an X3 modchip booting the X3 BIOS Build 3294 with the HeXEn 2018 disc already loaded into the tray. I see similar operations; however, I never see an UnleashX splash screen. The console displays HeXEn's main menu. Are you using HeXEn 2017, 2018 or TruHeXEn 2019? (Oops you already said the versions you'd tried earlier)
