Don't know, what were you doing? Let me rephrase that, "What were you attempting to do?" Is you console softmodded? Were TSOP flashing it with the ind-bios? What?

General Flashing and Modding Questions On XEcuter2.6 1.1&1.0
KaosEngineer replied to Eridyne's topic in Modchips
I've never seen an Atmel flash chip in an Xbox. Version 0.11 of raincoat doesn't look like it has support for that flash chip. Which version of it does? Edit: I see that raincoat knows how to flash the chip - the algorithm used to do so - the same method as a lot of other flash memory chips use; however, the manufacturer and part IDs are different. 0x1F is the manufacturer ID and 0x07 or 0x08 are product IDs for the specific parts AT49F002A or AT49F002AT. Without these lines in raincoat.conf, it's lost: Flash = 0x1f07,"Atmel AT49F002A",0x40000 Flash = 0x1f08,"Atmel AT49F002AT",0x40000 -

Hmm, I didn't know that there were Atmel flash chips used in the Xbox. From the flash device list I saw, there were only: Hynix, Hyundai, ST, Winbond and Sharp. -

What's the part number of the Atmel TSOP chip? Edit: I see you later stated the part number: Atmel AT49F002A TSOP. -
General Flashing and Modding Questions On XEcuter2.6 1.1&1.0
KaosEngineer replied to Eridyne's topic in Modchips
With a special BIOS file, you are may be able to flash the TSOP after booting from a modchip by controlling the A15 line (???) to gain access to the TSOP. However, I don't think after the Xbox boots from the TSOP, access to the LPC debug port connected flash is possible. -
General Flashing and Modding Questions On XEcuter2.6 1.1&1.0
KaosEngineer replied to Eridyne's topic in Modchips
Maybe. That's one way but there's another. FTP the Xbox Softmodding Tool's Build v1.1.7 / Installer Variants / XBHDM Build.zip extracted C folder files to the root of the C drive. This set of files contains a no-original-game-disc-required bootable Xbox Softmodding Tool installer. -

No, booting from the TSOP disables access to the LPC connected flash and vice versa. -
eBay.com or aliexpress.com eBay has a larger variety of chips than aliexpress only lists XT4032 (aladdin xt plus 2 clones). If any are listed on aliexpress.com any more, they come and go. eBay: new OpenXeniums, xBlast Lites, and Aladdin XT plus 2s (aka XT4032 and several other similar names) are listed as well as older modchips - Team Xecuter's X2s and X3, Xeniums, SmartXX's, cheapmods, etc.

Help With Off the Shelf Psu Design
KaosEngineer replied to QuietProjects's topic in Lighting & Electrical Mods
V1.6 Xbox's use 5Vdc instead of 3.3Vdc as the standby supply that is used to keep the clock circuitry and Xyclops SMC powered to enable soft-switching on / off the rest of the power supply. -
Help With Off the Shelf Psu Design
KaosEngineer replied to QuietProjects's topic in Lighting & Electrical Mods
Yes, since the standby power supply has to always be on. You don't want to run the 5Vdc 20Amp supply all the time just to provide the 3.3Vdc standby supply with the 3V, 6.5A Step-Down Voltage Regulator D36V50F3. This addtional 3.3Vdc standby supply only needs to provide 50-75 milliamps of current. -
Help With Off the Shelf Psu Design
KaosEngineer replied to QuietProjects's topic in Lighting & Electrical Mods
There's a small problem here. You need a separate 3.3 Vdc power supply that is always on to provide the standby power source for the SMC/clock circuitry for v1.0-1.4 consoles. And, for a 1.6/1.6b, you need an always on 5 Vdc source. Very little current is needed - I believe something like 50 to 75 milliAmps. It is this standby power supply that provides the voltage and current necessary to power on/off the console via the soft switch mechanism controlled by the SMC (v1.0-1.4) or Xyclops chip (v1.6), power the clock circuitry to keep the time and date current when the rest of the console is OFF and charge the clock cap. -
Red flashing eject ring. OS defective in the EEPROM. I believe the EEPROM they are talking about is the configuration EEPROM. Data is corrupted and the HMAC_SHA1 Hash or checksum values stored inside no longer agree with the data that's stored in the various sections each of the 3 values cover. For more information on the configuration EEPROM's content, see: https://xboxdevwiki.net/EEPROM

The only difference in the looks of the stock to an X2 BIOS is the word printed underneath the big X logo at the end of the flubber animation: XECUTER2 instead of Microsoft.

V1.0 XBox Flashing Red and Orange After Ram Upgrade
KaosEngineer replied to rawlor's topic in Hardware Mods
No, crcwell.bin is the BIOS file to be flashed to a modchip. XBlastOS.xbe is an Xbox executable version that runs as an application. It does not get flashed to a modchip. Change the settings of the Xenium OS to autoboot the XBlastOS (crcwell.bin) BIOS. Edit: I see you were able to get it working. I'd not read all the messages when I posted by reply. Great job! -
The Xbox doesn't have to be in the same room to be able to FTP to it. Connect it to your home network and FTP to it! Use MediaXMenu (MXM), https://downloads.diodematrix.com/homebrew/xbins/Console Based Applications/apps/dashboards/mediaxmenu/, to create a multi game/app disc with menu select which one you want to run. Edit: There are a few other possible multi-game menu systems that could be used. They are listed here: https://downloads.diodematrix.com/homebrew/xbins/Console Based Applications/apps/multi-game menus/

The Monster GameLink 400X component cable does not have an optical transmitter in it. The plug in the cable is used to make electrical connections to a TOSLink transmitter: 5Vdc, ground and the digitial audio output signal from the AVIP connector of the Xbox. You need a GameLink 100X adapter with optical TOSLink cable to complete the Monster Component AV cable set for optical digital audio out.

Use XBMC instead of UnleashX to FTP over the files that have no filename extension. UnleashX creates folders in their place and will not upload the file since a folder of the same name exists already (BUG in UnleashX's FTP server!).

The BIOS the modchp currently has installed on it is Team Xecuter's X2 4980.06 version based on the kernel version number displayed above. One thing that most of the BIOS dev teams did is assign their kernel version the BIOS version dot LBA48 (.06 or .67) configuration setting (e.g., 4980.06). Only Team Evo-X kept the MS kernel version their BIOSes was based upon making it a bit hard to know exactly which BIOS is installed. The last two releases, M8 and M8plus, both have the same kernel version 5838.

KIxxx 1.3 SPLIT by SPPV available in the download section of emuxtras.net has all the files included for KI 1 and 2 ready to ftp over to the console.

@SS_Dave is correct. It's an X2lite modchip. http://web.archive.org/web/20030416001656/http://www.xbox-scene.com/modchips/x-ecuter2_lite_pictures.html

There is nothing RARE about that console other than the asking price from the seller. 2004 is after the Linux competition concluded. Hackers started working on running Linux in May 2002 and finished three (3) months later with the first kernel messages appear on the screen from this article's content. Within a year, Linux was running reliably on the Xbox console.

Changing video mode / resolution / region settings in UnleashX only affects the operation of the Xbox while it is running UnleashX. Once you exit UnleashX to run any other app or reboot, the settings revert back to those set in the configuration EEPROM.

Yes, I believe that's it.
