  1. Sorry for being late. I used another linux distribution but I think also in ubuntu will work. In most distribution modules/drivers for that programming device is already there, so even if you are not so experienced you'll manage to do it in 5 minutes. You can even try to do it with a live CD, without the need to install the operating system to your hard drive. Install urjtag via your package manager, plug in programmer and start flashing
  2. I had problems flashing it in Windows. Tried different machines at work (a Dell Xeon notebook, a i5 PC, and even a core2duo machine. Errors all around, even tried different drivers). Came home, I flashed it under Linux in one shot, no error, all smooth.
  3. Ciao , benvenuto. (Hi, welcome)
  4. Would be possible to get the mega key for the downloads? Thanks
  5. I didn't try any other adapter, but in my case, with the startech one I just have the exact same boot time as the previous IDE HDD. I just transferred the exact same files I had on the old disk to the new one (so, they are "equal" in terms of data), and it boots without delays. Works very good. Now I just put inside the old IDE HDD because I don't need extra space at the moment, but at least I checked that it was working good. Paid 19,90€ for it a week ago. Not cheap for sure, but it's ok.
  6. I think in the root of the E drive, if I understand correctly. PS. are you Italian?
  7. Which one is it, you have a photo? But if have no way of selecting it (strange thing, but possible) probably is doing "cable select" on it's own, and probably it will work correctly.
  8. If you're referring to me: yes, I received that cable.
  9. Any chance to have the file reuploaded? I received today the XBOX Controller to USB cable and wanted to TSOP my 1.1 XBOX in these next days. Thank you Sceriffo
  10. That would be perfect for my xbox I'm going to TSOP-flash. I'm still waiting for the controller port to female usb adapter to arrive. Is this save file available? Thank you
  11. You have problems starting it from DVD of from HDD? I have EU version, transferred it via FTP on the HDD and it works good without patching anything.
  12. I tried last night, and I can tell that while keeping the L trigger pressed scrolling up and down with DPAD it goes faster! Great!
  13. 15k RPM IDE? I only have SCSI and SAS that goes so high in RPM.
  14. Thanks to all. I'm in EU, and I'm using the classic composite 3-RCA cable. Still in search of a good SCART cable at a reasonable price. So I'm not in hi-res mode. UnleashX have a very very good scrolling behaviour. Normal with DPAD/triggers and fast with analog sticks. It's simply perfect. After I finish (I hope soon) a work-related online meeting I'm going to try, I'll try to hold trigger while scrolling, but I think I did already try to do that. But I'll check again. Thank you all, Sceriffo
  15. Hi dear. As primary dash I use UnleashX, but for some games I enjoy some trainer use so I set up EvolutionX and I launch it when I need to apply a trainer (Xored Launcher 2.2 just crashes on splash screen with lots of trainer files in folder). However EvolutionX is extremely slooooow to scroll up and down. Is there something I'm missing, like a parameter to set or a .ini variable, to scroll the list faster? Thank you, have a nice day Sceriffo

    Aladdinlcd

Hi dear, That's great. I'll order one of that chips in the next days, without much hurry. That PCB for the LCD display seems a better solution, optimal I'd say. Bu I think it'll be a lesser hassle to get an aladdin modchip and mod it. (based on the fact that I'm in EU land, and don't know where and how much they'll cost to me delivered. I think a lot more). Have a nice day, Sceriffo

    Aladdinlcd

Between Modchips and Hardware Mods sections, I post here. I'm planning someday to TSOP one of my XBOX, and I did see the AladdinLCD project by Ryzee119. I was thinking about fitting one of this in place of the currently installed modchip. On Aliexpress I can't find a single one, nothing.. I can find some on eBay for 10€ and they are like this: Are they good for this project? Seems very similar to the one shown in Ryzee911's github https://github.com/Ryzee119/AladdinLCDhttps://github.com/Ryzee119/AladdinLCD Anybody of you have had chance to try this mod, and can tell something about it? Have a nice day Sceriffo
  18. Thank you, that's what I did in the end. Extracted 5-6 games with it and got them working. Also I created XISOs to keep in my NAS with C-Xbox and saved a lot of space I did find that tool and used it, all good You are right about redump. I'm pretty familiar with the project. Before I meant to say I got them and the hashes matched the redump dumps. Now I shrunk them and saved a lot of space, DVD-DL media is a huge beast to archive Thank you all guys, Sceriffo
  19. One of my XBOXes on startup, if chip enabled, most of the times restarted itself 2 times and red/green flashing, and no video. But was working flawlessly without modchip enabled. After resoldering all the the modchip's LPC part I also noticed that GND was soldered quite bad and not always doing good contact with the underside GND motherboard point. It worked! After that, I also bridged (as you) the BT to GND and now it works every single time, not even a failure since.. Maybe it's worth to double check the soldering? Have a nice day, Sceriffo
  20. Upon research I read something that brought me some memories.... XISO! I did remember reading about XISO format but not having a XBOX back in the day never got a clue what it was. I think the ISO i have are not XISO. I got 'em from Redump, so I think that Qwix and C-Xbox will not work, but I'll try and see what I can do. Have a nice day all
  21. Great! Q3A is one of my favourite games of all times, since it was out back in the day. But I'm simply unable to play this kind of games with a joypad.
  22. I burned Hexen and Rocky5 tools on Princo 1-4x and 1-8x DVD-R white discs (quite bad quality discs, famous for non-reliability in time, I have then since more than 10 years) and in my 2 XBOXes, one with philips drive, the other with Samsung (if I remember well) drive, they got read without problems. If those drives can read Princo media without problems, they can read everything else I think.. Please note that with older DVD writers I can burn discs even to 1x, but using my current DVD burner the minimum speed I get using the 1-4x disc is 4x, using the 1-8x disc is 6x. Recent burners can't write DVD at lowest speeds, keep that in mind. Sceriffo
  23. Just wondering... as title says, what is the procedure you use and/or prefer to transfer your ISO games to HDD? I see "Qwix" does this, but I also read something about "C-Xbox". Both seem to do basically the same things more or less. What's your experience about this matter? Do you know any other software for this purpose? My OSs are mostly linux based, I have no windows machines, so if something for linux exists I'm happy to hear. However, I can use windows virtual machines. Thank you, have a good day. Sceriffo
  24. It's working all good, also the L or T shaped one from the last photo updated to 4981.67 256k without problems. Yesterday I also received a fully working S controller in the mail so I'm quite golden The LPCMOD-equipped one is the Xbox (seems to be a 1.1 revision) I'd like to upgrade a bit and use as main one because it was better kept. Just planning a HDD upgrade, don't know if there's anything more to do that's worth of. I have some IDE hard drives around here (fully tested with manufacturers utilities and low-level formatted OK) but I don't remember the capacity of them. Need to go and check. Let's say (example) for a 80 or 160GB drive, which would be your preferred partitioning scheme (with XBPartitioner, I think)? Thank you bros, hope to enjoy as much as possible this (long awaited) XBOX experience. Sceriffo
