Have you got a soft or hard mod? If a hardmod load hexen into your disk drive and reformat the drive and see if that can fix it. -

1st find out what your default dashboard is called, probably evoxdash.xbe. then see where xbmc4gamers xbe is located, probably on your E partition under apps. you then need to make a shortcut xbe and point it to the xbmc4gamers xbe. Name the shortcut evoxdash.xbe. Rename your original dash xbe something like evoxdash_backup.xbe you should then be good to go. As you have a TSOP it shouldn’t be to hard to fix if you get it wrong, just have a copy of hexen that your dvd drive reads okay. -
Make a copy of the eeprom and back that, the C and E partition up to your pc. Then if you want you can go into the TSOP and modchip section on hexen and reformat your drive and it will do a complete install for you.

Did you swap the psu as well as the motherboard, check the main supply connection are compatible? Sounds like something is connected.

Yep it’s a TSOP. Run hexen to check your xbox version. If it’s a 1.0 or 1.1 you can run a 1024k bios if later it’s a 256k bios. When you boot up what does the startup screen show, ind-bios, x2?

Just stick the chip in the dead box to bring it back as a spare. I prefer chipped or TSOPed boxes as they are easier to fix hdd cock ups.

Soz, should have recalled the title of your original post. Darik’s Boot and Nuke is the software that should hopefully be able to reformat the drive. There where a couple of articles on xbox scene regarding your issue, if you do a bit of surfing on the net you maybe able to find them.

Welcome, crack open the box to check you have a chip and what it is rather than a TSOP. Also what version you have as a 1.6 runs a different bios to earlier models.

There are third party software apps that should be able to nuke the drive, you would then just need to reformat.

Are you worried about what’s on the drive, if not you should be able to reformat the drive with you computer. Then install into your xbox and reformat for fatx

Are you running the video output in PAL, if not use enigmah and run it in PAL and see if that fixes it.

Do you know anyone with an Aladdin in a 1.0-1.4 Xbox? Ask them to install the chip and flash a 1.6 bios for you.

No, try removing the chip or turning it off if you have that option, you should then be able to load the stock M$ dash. Then you can Softmod your xbox, load Hexen from the disk drive and then turn on you chip and do a hotswap.

Tried using xbmc’s game save manger for trouble some game saves last night and it saved them to a memory stick without the issues I was getting with unleashx’s

What type of solder are you using, if you use lead solder you will not need as much heat? Also use either a small chisel or conical tip on your soldering iron and plenty of flux.
