After you have partition the disk it needs to be formatted. Partitioning divides your drive into sections, but you can choose to simply have one partition (a single section encompassing the entire drive) Once your drive is partitioned, each partition will have to be formatted with a file system (X-FAT. Xbox File Allocation System). Normal when you do a new install that happen with out you knowing it doing it. Basic computing.

Hard to say about the Sharp TSOP chip. But had some one else tell me that version 1.0/1.1 Xbox's are not that common a quick count here 8 X 1.0/1.1 2 X 1.2 3 X 1.6 2 X box's not even opened to look inside.

The Problem with the pound cable was the sound was studdering and the picture would freeze up That was on version 1.2. I tested the pound cable on a version 1.1 with same sort of results the same xbox with a cheap component to HDMI and a Compete to HDMI converter left it for dead so dose N64's HDMI Kit same games same TV. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY !! -
I got one of the pound Cables it very quickly wound up in the bottom of the JUNK BOX as I think it's a piece of Shite!! along with the one from Aliexpress.

I have not had a Sharp branded chip to flash ever, Maybe that version didn't make it to Australia.

From 1 of his other posts Hello all, I was just wondering why my xbox will hang up after turning it on at the boot screen. I have done a successful tsop mod with the 256k bios on a v1.4 xbox with the evox m8 plus F and G but when it completely shuts down and i eject the disc it will do the blob animation while showing the ecox in the left top corner and it says linux under the xbox logo but hangs up and will not proceed any further to my dashboard. I installed the bios using hexen 2019 disc. I was told to try to rebuild the hard drive but not to sure on how to do that through hexen. Any and all help would greatly be appreciated. I would say he would have left the links on and I had a look at my 1.4ghz mother board from him and the link is there. With all of the BIOS re-flashes I have done I have only ever removed the links on 1 Xbox as I knew the owner would stuff it up by re-flashing it and expect me to fix it for free. Even then the owner returned the box with no Dash on it from stuffing around with it and wanted it fixed right then and blaming me for it not working.

I have on the back burner an idea of using a Aladdin chip from FleeBay with a switch and LPC chip upgrade to run a 256kb and a 512kb BIOS. I know is been done as a recovery chip I can't see why you could not have 2 normal Bios's in there instead. SS Dave

If you have a version Xbox it's a 1024kb/1 meg Bios unless your using a mod chip. You can use Evtools to change the size and other options I have set No DVD on boot,no TM(trade mark),no animation,no Splash Logo and if it's a 1.0 to1.4 then no Evox logo I use fan speed 20% with Partition 6 up to 137 GB then part 7 takes the rest.

IMHO the IND5004.67/Ind5003.67 Bios's are slow and not worth it stick with he Evox M8 Bios

Yes te version 1.6 do report the temps higher in fact the temps are crap my 1.6 reports it's 4 deg Celsius then it will jump to 65 deg Using a non contact thermometer the temps are the same 1.1 and 1.6 both running CoinOps demo for a hour no lid's but every thing in place 45c fan at 20% room temp 25c. I possibly got 1 of N64's last Modded mother boards a 1.4ghz CPU 128 meg ram that's been tested to make sure it worked but not put into service yet that's a one day job. This Xbox is a version 1.6 that is under another xbox and has been running for over 2 hours Yer right the room is 22 C/72 F

I put over 50 kilograms of those in the trash about 5 years ago as I could not find a use for them I would still have 15 or 20 here in the junk box.

All version's 1.0 to 1.5(1.5) have a TSOP (Thin Small Outline Package)

Replacing the thermal past ? I have only done one of my Xbox's (I have 4 in regular use) and not seen any better temps. If you have removed the heat sink then you do need to replace the paste. I work on the If its not broken then don't fix it principle. SS Dave

Yes the version will need a temp soft mod so you can boot the Hexen DVD to re-flash the BIOS. I Use a Hack with the 007 Agent Under Fire game 1st solder links on PCB and reassemble Xbox leaving the HDD loose 2nd Copy game save to hard disk that has the new BIOS in it. 3rd Load 007AUF and when the game ask's for load mission load fro hard disk 4th after the Xbox has shutdown automatically install the new HDD and fully assemble the XBOX 5th Boot from your Install disk and follow the bouncing ball install. 6th Start sending games via FTP and enjoy your newly modded XBOX. Is that simple or what!

Better late than never. Welcome aboard MRH. If your worried about the Clock cap leaking on your version 1.0 to 1.4(1.5) the cap can be removed I would probably do that anyway. If there is any staining on the PCB clean it with Isopropyl Alcohol or mentholated sprites and a Stiff brush(tooth brush).

If the Xbox was already the Bios Flashed you should not have done and do not need a soft mod. A xbox with a Reflashed Bios Chip(TSOP) or a Mod Chip will crash if you try and boot from a hard disk with a soft mod. Boot the Xbox that has a Bios Re-flash/Mod chip from a Install DVD then do a install from option 3 of the Hexen 2019 or SlaYer 2.7. Don't worry about locking he Hard Drive as it not needed any more.

LEAVE THE BIOS AS IS If it is still booting Slayer 2.7 Boot the Xbox with the SlaYer disk and your new Hard Disk fitted Use Option 3 New Install/ Full Rebuild Then option 3A Full Rebuild Or Burn a DVD with HEXEN that can be downloaded from here When burning set the right speed as slow as possible and use a DVD-R disk But you new disk in the Xbox that has the mod chip and the new hard drive and turn it on. It will take about 1 minute or 2 and the eject button will turn red the screen may go black for a little bit but it's ok. Have a look at option 3 TSOP Flashed /Chipped Xbox Then Option 3.5.3 or 3.5.4 NTSC or PAL Don't worry about locking the drive it's not needed any more DO NOT try and do a soft-mod on this XBOX SS Dave
