Thanks. I have uploaded a more or less new version / test build called " OGXBox XBlastOS MC TSOP Flasher v1.8.0 The Edition 64MB NTSC+PAL ". This version has even more bioses as the Dev edition and it will load faster because of the fact that I splitt up the config into 3 configs. The XBlast flasher and the EvoX flasher now have there own configs and flasher XBE's. So the main loading fromt the game to the first config is pretty fast and in there you have 3 main options. Loading the XBlast Flasher, loading the EvoX flasher or start Rocky's SMT. Everything elese is moved to the flasher configs it self. One downside though, you need a memorycard/usb stick/360 MU with at least 64MB for this version. But I think for the ones which mod on the regular basis this flasher could be the one to use. Mrs. E. : And a little side note. The UDMA5 works not only with the Startech adapter. You can also use the Renkforce (Same as the Startech but a couple of bucks cheaper) the Delock 61702 and Delock 62510 adapters with it.

The 8163B needs 4 x 1k ohm resistors and a little bit of wiring. Before that, you flash the 8050L firmware. The 8164B needs some 1k ohm resistors, 2 x 4148 diodes and 1 x 857c transistor and a little bit of wiring. And before that, you flash the 8050L firmware. The 8050L is the original XBox HL drive which is used in some 1.6/1.6b. How ever, I don't know how to mod the Samsung 616. Mostly because I don't own one. But I would bet that @KaosEngineer know how that one woks.

And to set up your HDD as F+G you need to format your HDD twice with XBP. 1 reboot in between. After that the ER massage should be gone. How ever, since you have only 500GB, one partition with 500GB (F) should be fine.

If you have the OGXBox Installer on hand just boot your XBox with it and use the file explorer in the live apps section to copy your files back in place.

The UDMA5 version is basicly fpr StarTech adapters only. So you have two options, get a StarTech adapter and hope that was the problem or get a modchip. (Option three: Desolder the TSOP and flash it with a external flasher) And a little quote of the read me ...

Try to boot without the dvd drive. Disconnect it from IDE and the Yellow cable. If you still get the error, leav it disconnectet and try the old 40 wire cable (which can work without the DVD drive). Had some trouble my self that the 80 causes problems and lead to an error 16. One thing more oyu could try is to set up your HDD again with FatXplorer and using different files. You could simply use the ones from the hexen dvd (Use DVDMulleter to unpack Hexen). And one thing more, that noDVD bios from TruHeXEn 2020 is faulty (DVD cold boot bug). So when you get your xbox up and running, you should consider to reflash your TSOP using a different bios.

And check the size of the bios in C:\bios. Is it 256kb or 0kb?

As far I remember the XChanger has a quick boot option which will boot the 512kb bank when used. So expand your bios to 512kb, flash it to bank 2 and enable quick boot. POWER BUTTON: Takes you straight to the X-Changer Menu EJECT BUTTON: Quick boots up with your ‘Modded’ bios

Since your XBox as a has a modchip you don't need the eeprom. Just change the old for a new HDD set it up with an Installer disk of your choice (OGXBox Installer, TruHexen, Slayers etc.) and done.

You can flash any bios you like to any of these banks of this modchip. How ever if you like to flash the 512kb bank you can expand your 256kb to 512kb. Copy this to a new text file: @echo off copy /b bios.bin+bios.bin bios.512kb.bin Then save it and rename the text file to "512kb.bat" for exmple. Drag and drop your bios on this .bat file and you will get a 512kb bios.

It isn't impossible. It's a bios like any other bios. The point not flashing a OC bios to a TSOP until you know for sure that the bios work is, that you can break your xbox in round about 10 seconds. And no, changing the HDD can't change anything in the bios.

Lock the drives. Install a softmod. Remove the chip. Launch xblastOS and flash your bios. Drink a coffee.

A little OT (Because it's a 8164B). Who said all XBox dvd drives are dying? I bought a NOS 8164B : https://imgur.com/a/NB4rMoK Seller asked for 2,- € but little me paid 10,- € (incl. shipping (4,-€)).

Mix some of your flux with some IPA (which is hopefuly 99%) and check it with a MM. What I do is to blow most of flux out with some hot air (150°C and 100% AF) and clean it then with IPA. After that it's pretty clean.

Well, you can flash your TSOP with it as long as you have solderd the 2 TSOP points. How ever, you know that if something went wrong with these OC bioses, for example bad MCPX or GPU which didn't like the OC at all, you end up with a nice looking brick? How ever it's a 1.0 so you could flash the TSOP with a 4x256KB (1MB) bios and after that splitt the TSOP (2x512kb) and flash one bank with the OC bios to have a fall back. How ever I highly suggest to get a modchip to use OC bioses. And if you go for a cheap chip you should also consider to buy a cheap USB flasher for it. Or buy a OpenXenium/XeniumICE/XBlastLite.
