  1. Also for further clarification... https://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-251.html Here's an excellent use for it too.

  2. Live on backups now. After reading through the posts in this thread, It seems it was kinda hijacked on page 2 by another user who had kindly uploaded a CCI set to (I believe) Archive.org and Gdrive. It seems there were issues with that torrent being completable (Archive ALWAYS has issues with torrent files in my experience) and also the Gdrive quotas. Reading further on it seems there were also issues with some long filenames etc. I don't know if that set is even still obtainable but I would recommend you skip it and just go for the new set on back-ups. The new set is on a 10gb connection seeding 24/7. All filenames have been shortened/corrected where needed to fit with the FATX spec and have been successfully transferred to an Xbox hdd. The torrent will also allow you download only selected games, It is not one massive file. Quick EDIT- Some people have complained about some dupes of games from differing regions in the pack. Some were included just because I already had the games, others such as the PAL Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 2/3 versions (actually called Dancing Stage Unleashed 2/3) have different track listings and as such I consider them different games.

  3. You DO NOT want to use UDMA2. That is for stock IDE HDDs. You want UDMA5-7. I recommend trying 6 since you’re using a Startech adapter and an 80 wire IDE cable. And as mentioned above, check your cluster sizes.

  4. Hey all, so a little update on this Xbox which I originally thought was a Halo 2 release... It's actually: MaxOnline Limited Edition XBOX Elite https://consolevariations.com/collectibles/microsoft-xbox-maxonline-limited-edition-bundle I have just found the box and confirmed it is this version, still sealed in its bag as shown in the photos and box still with it. Estimations are between 500-1000 units ever made!

  5. That would require hacking of the actual bios file itself.

  6. You can use XBPartitioner to check the cluster sizes of your partitions.

  7. A suggestion would be if Emustation had the option to access Favorites by clicking Right Thumb, like 4Gamers does. When you start adding multiple custom tiles and have nearly a full library of Emulators, it takes a while to find it. Emustation's Kiosk won't allow games to be added to Favorites either, but you can still remove games from Favorites via the Favorites tile. The Favorites tab in 4Gamers won't allow games to be removed unless you manually search the game and unfavorite them. It looks like you can press Black for an Options menu, but nothing appears. It would be nice if the text in the 4Gamers Favorites UI could be smaller. A few games nearly takes up the whole screen, compared to Emustation's version which is more ideal for a larger list. I'm on the latest builds of both. Thanks.

  8. When it comes to the LPC, sometimes people can damage their board trying to remove it. I have personally almost always just dropped in a 2X2 pin header next to the 2X6. Quick, easy, functional. However, I DO make sure that the 2x6 is already nice and flat and that the 2x2 section has pins that match in direction, otherwise there CAN be alignment issues. But usually it's totally fine.

  9. Hi, thank you, I have already removed the modchip and I'm waiting for the recap kit and the new modchip. I have opted for an Xblast which I will be flashing with Cerbios. Hopfully within the next week everything will arrive.

  10. X3 and X2 can both replace the microsoft logo with a file in the root of C named either x3logo.bmp or x2logo.bmp. The tutorial linked below says it need to be on E but I know my x3logo.bmp is on C and it works so maybe it can be on either. https://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-251.html

  11. This tells me that there's something pulling too much current on the IDE bus until after the hard drive has finished spinning up. There are most likely bad caps and or resistors on either the hard or DVD drive's controller boards.

  12. The "Demon" one looks SICK. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the X2 does the logo by embedding in the bios and the X3 uses a file on C (if present), correct?

  13. Seeing as there seems to be some confusion about x3 in this thread, I can confirm that the X3 bios lets you change the MS logo, it just needs the file on the HDD C root. I currently have a Nike Swoosh on my X3 system

  14. I used to mess with x2 bios's but only changing the xbox text, been a while since I've done it though. All in bios, x2 4981 so no config files

  16. There's a newer set available at back-ups.me Repackinator shortens the folder names to keep them within FATX spec.

  17. Take a look at the following PDF file included with the homebrew xbox-scene bios tool application KernelBasher v1.0: XBOX TEXT TUTORIAL.pdf Edit: diomtec.com closed the legacy xbins mirror website. https://legacy.downloads.diomtec.com/mnt/downloads_ams3_01/old_downloadshomebrew/xbins/PC Based Applications/bios tools/KernelBasher/_old/KernelBasher_1.0.rar Release 1.1 includes a Setup.exe file to install the application and its additional content: https://legacy.downloads.diomtec.com/mnt/downloads_ams3_01/old_downloadshomebrew/xbins/PC Based Applications/bios tools/KernelBasher/KernelBasherV1.1.zip However, there's a new site with the same content: https://xbxbx.ams1.ppn.prutzel.com/?dir=xbins_xbox_mirror/PC Based Applications/bios tools/KernelBasher _old subfolder for the v1.0 and v1.0b versions of KernelBasher and the one listed above has the v1.1 version. On my WIndows 10 PC, running the application complains about a missing DLL file: MFC71.dll. It can be downloaded from DLL‑files.com. Extract the content from the downloaded ZIP file then copy MFC71.DLL to KernelBasher v1.1's installation directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\KernelBasher\ This application only works for a limited set of modified Xbox BIOSes.

  18. See if you get the same behavior with a UDMA2 BIOS. Also, have a look at the motherboard caps. Maybe take a pic.
