  3. Thanks - I improvised with a usb2 SD card reader and an old 2Gb Sandisk SD - it seems to be working perfectly - hopefully I won’t ever have to refer to it as the crazy Xbox again - thanks for all your help

  4. It wasn't making good contact with the board any longer. I think I tightened the screw down one too many times. It would cause the Xbox to power cycle 3 times then flash red. I never used the 2nd bank back in the day because I was too worried about screwing up the modchip. I actually just recently updated it with the latest Xecuter BIOS for it but the TSOP is soooo much better.

  5. I just picked up one of these on eBay here in Oz for $20 AUD. Yet to test it but hopefully it is good, I'll let you know.

  6. They shipped ‘em something! But OP makes a good point. People who don’t really know what they’re looking at often conflate OGX and 360 A/V connectors. I found a listing at vintage stock for ONE original Xbox cable, but when a I went in to grab it they “didn’t have it in inventory” because someone marked it as a 360 cable.

  8. you misunderstood me. term of placement of this lot. it is no longer relevant, it is not on sale from the seller. the last review for this product was written 11 years ago, in 2008

  9. Eh, if you’re on a 1.0 you can really get the same feature set besides write protect, which is still achievable with a switch, as is multibios on the 1MB flash chip. Having a chip around can always come in handy if your BIOS gets hosed for some reason though.

  10. Looks like a damn good price for the av pack! Have you tried one of these before? I’ved used one for a long time and the picture seems pretty good! Would like to see if there’s a noticeable difference there.

  13. Kinda sounds like your flash chip is going out, my guy. Ever end up checking for a wire on the bottom? Either way it sounds like it’s probably about time for that Aladdin you’ve got laying around.

  15. I got 3.3v from a bench supply but you can get it from the xbox if needed. Up to the hobbyist. 28awg wire will do. What is a CPLD? Did you try google? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complex_programmable_logic_device See this too. It tells you the required operating system, supported cables etc. http://urjtag.org/book/index.html

  16. This right here. I once lifted some pads on a 1.4’s TSOP and ended up destroying all of the pads for said chip out of frustration. That console works great now with a simple modchip install. There are few, if any, repairs that are impossible. It’s just not the case. Granted you may not be equipped to figure them out or do that fix yourself... doesn’t mean they can’t be done. On that subject I have some spare boards I can send out if anyone is willing to pay shipping costs for them I have gotten my practice out of them and stole the components I cared about having. Useless to me now.
