USB Keyboard Support on PSO etc?

I have a very basic non-multimedia USB keyboard and a USB->Xbox adapter, such as what you might use for a soft mod. I can't seem to get it to work with PSO, or even the network settings page (I tried typing in 192.168 etc). I've also tried using the X3CP faceplate USB ports but same problem there too, no reaction.

Am I doing something wrong? Would be cool to be able to type in PSO or use it in Xbmc4Gamers.

What is the adaptor you are using.  I use a straight up chopped controller lead soldered to a cut off USB A socket lead.   Works with my keyboards as long as they dont have macro keys or-keys that do non keyboard functions or have a Fn button.

Tried using this generic thing, the xbox detects a memory stick if i plug that in so there's definitely a connection.

Kinad rare and expensive but slots into the controller the player is using. The adaptor you have in another controller port most likely has no idea what to do with a keyboard.    I could be wrong, but best guess.

Issue solved: Found the oldest, crappiest, most vanilla Microsoft keyboard and plugged it in, recognised it first time. PSO with a keyboard is epic and typing in IP settings a breeze. Thank you!
