Do, all the fucki/ng hdmi solutions of output signal video make REALLY a better picture than the best component ''for the same resolution'', or it's ONLY for not loose quality during  passage to hdmi or upscaling ?

;) Thanks and sorry.

The N64 freak HDMI is one of the best although it is just a component and digital audio to HDMI converter.

There is also a Digital HDMI from MakeMHX that gets a digital signal before the video chip and and output HDMI but you need above average soldering to fit it.

Not all HDMI cables are made equally, no. Whether or not you'll notice or care about the difference in picture quality is a different story.

The HDMI adapter cables made by Pound and Hyperkin are okay, but aren't as good as N64 Freak's internal HDMI mod or Kekule's HDMI cable. The Pound and Hyperkin cables can sometimes show lines or visual noise in the video signal (the amount of visual noise can vary per Xbox even).

The cheap $6 Xbox component cables on eBay usually suck, so anything else is a better option. If your TV has component inputs and you can find a good set of component cables, then there's no real need to get an HDMI cord/adapter.

Like Dave said, MakeMHZ's HDMI mod is supposedly the best option out there, but it also requires that you solder it onto your Xbox and not everyone is comfortable performing that process.

It,s bad because I have already the monster and I went upgrade my xbox and my picture. So I can do nothing more for give me a passe time and upgrade my  xbox.

I  have already the monster, so I will keep it and to buy the framemeister if I want play on a recent tv.  But now  it's useless with my  TV 720p. So with my 720p and without sofmod, the ossc or other soluce are useless for me.

Yes I had the chance to see the new makemhz on the net. It's so complicated. I need xenium-sofmod-dashboars-lpc rebuild-  solder. I never do all that.

If it's possible for someone like me ( with video that explain A to Z ) I will try but perhaps it's impossible for me.

All the HDMI conversions out there with the exception of the MakeMHZ and the Citrus3000psi versions are just a component to HDMI converter the difference is 2 of them use digital audio and a better conversion chip (N64 Freak, Chimerc systems) and the rest are a basic RGB with analog audio to HDMI (Wii2HDMI).

Ok, So I 'm trying to buy the chimeric, and next, I wil buy the makemhz or n64 freak. And add a upscaler ( if the doawnloaded games don't existe in 1080p directly) And after, installe sofmods.

( sofmod for use controller without dongle, and compatible for makemhz or n64, compatible with the best cd drive that I will find (perhaps itachi)+ to get emulator game of Halo and GTa in 720p) ( And if the 128mb are useless 99% of time like somone said here, I will keep my 1.6)

Yes I need to structure my purchase.

Thanks

For Xbox games the 128mb upgrade is useless. The only place it made any difference for me was with console emulation, specifically the N64. Most N64 games would play horribly prior to the upgrade and quite well after. If you are mostly using the Xbox for playing Xbox games you aren't missing out on anything.

Does anyone have and installed XboxHD+ by MakeMHz?

      https://makemhz.com/products/xboxhd

I really want to get something like this but wanted to confirm if it truly upscales games. For instance if a game doesn't have 720p, will this thing take it and output the game at that resolution?

So I recently made use of this invaluable resource to download all of the old Halo 2 DLC onto my original Xbox (https://digiex.net/threads/xbox-offline-xbox-live-downloadable-content-dlc-installers.675/). The title update and four map packs were a no-brainer, but I was intrigued to see "official" Bungie multiplayer game-types included in the installer as well, as follows:
      1. Classic CTF Tank
      2. Covie Gulch
      3. Golden Showers
      4. Peacemakers
      5. Swords No Radar
      6. Team GoldShowers
      7. Zombies
Interested in knowing how a few game-types were elevated to "preserved official DLC", I did some research. It looks like #1-5 were made available on the Official Xbox Magazine April 2005 demo disc (http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/official-xbox-magazine-demo-disc-43/), and #7 was from the June 2005 edition (http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/official-xbox-magazine-demo-disc-45/). But my question, while quaint, is this: when was #6 ever officially released? All online "Bungie game-type" lists seem to acknowledge it as one of the officially released game-types, but I can't seem to find its origin. Does anyone recall how they got ahold of it back in the old Xbox days? To be clear, I'm talking about the game-type "Team GoldShowers".

Hi, I am just wondering if anyone with more experience than me can tell me how bad this looks or about any diagnosis clues I can be aware of. The first XBOX I found on ebay last year was surprisingly not modded and I guessed it might be a 1.0. Because of that I didn't want to mod it or open it so I bought another cheap one that had already been opened. I had some fun with that one then I gave it away. In the meantime that 1.0 was calling my name and I bit the bullet and opened it up. Softmod went fine of course. HDD upgrade went fine. Then I wanted to try something more interesting. I looked up the RAM upgrade and it didn't look too bad. That actually went smooth. Luckily the 1.0 is the least work to short circuit the TSOP. So TSOP flash and 128MB RAM was working. I kind of surprised myself. I was fumbling around not really thinking through things and I wanted to see if I could flash an original BIOS back to it. That was the end of the fun for me. After the flash it reboots and goes into the blinking red. I realized the BIOS probably didn't like having 128MB RAM so I used my heat gut to remove my just added RAM. That wasn't it. I knew it I had a big project ahead of me. That was when I found the Open Xenium modchip that apparently is supposed to divert the boot to it's own BIOS. Hence my question in this forum.
I didn't see how I was going to remove all that solder from the LPC ports with a solder braid or any other way for that matter. I realized I might be able to use my heat gun again. I had some bad luck and didn't realize how hot I was getting my board in the process either. I almost lost 3 components all together but I managed to get 2 of them back on. I circled the remaining problems in my pictures below. Is any of this repairable? The Open Xenium chip makes it to a red LED but XBOX still only boots to the blinking red lights. I was pretty happy with my soldering of the wire but not so happy with my soldering of the LPC jumpers. The board took some damage. From what the pictures say is this beyond repair? If the Open Xenium chip is making it to a red LED am I close?
      Thanks all you smart folks!
