i was going to do this mod 

usinng a rca pannel connector ,but what type of gauge cable do i need from the mother to the rca connector

Since it carries a low voltage digital signal, the wire doesn't need to be very thick at all. Something like a 15 to 20 guage (~1mm) wire is fine. Thicker wire is okay, but not needed.

I used 2 wires from a cat 5 cable that where twisted together  and it is not overly important inside the Xbox any way as the shield of the RCA connector is grounded to the metal cage.
