tecoloteuno
Is it safe to flash using a 256kb on a 1MB TSOP? xbox v1.

There will just be extra empty space left over. Ccub implemented a switch to allow the empty space to be utilized for a second (up to) 512K BIOS. Ccub implemented a switch to allow the empty space to be utilized for a second (up to) 512K BIOS. Not on a TSOP. You can't put a 256KB BIOS in the first quarter of the 1MB flash chip and leave the remaining 256KB (2 - 512KB bank split TSOP) or 768KB empty. You fill the entire chip 4x256KB BIOS or split the TSOP in half for 2 - 512KB BIOS banks - 2x256KB (not recommended though). Evoxdash writes multiple copies of the BIOS's dot bin file to fill the chip's size it detects based on values stored in the evox.ini file's Flash = lines. If you want to use 2 BIOS's (2x256KB or 1x512KB + 1x512KB or 2x256KB) you'll need to create a 1MB dot bin file. The BIOS's code reads some data values from the start of the flash chip's address space and other data gets read from the end of the 1MB x 16 memory space.

It will write 4 consecutive copies of the 256KB BIOS dot bin file to fill the 1MB flash memory chip.
SaGiNaW OuTLaW
Where'd you get the switch for your TSOP? Does it only work with ANY 1.0-1.5 versions? Thanks
sweetdarkdestiny
You can TSOP any xbox 1.0 up to 1.4 (Btw. the 1.5 is like the spoon in Matrix). A Xbox 1.6 dosn't has a TSOP. The TSOP split works only for the XBox 1.0 and 1.1. 1.2 up to 1.4 have just a 256kb TSOP.
SS_Dave
In my view you don't need more than 1 bios. The only need for 2 bios files was for Xbox Live. On a version 1.0 - 1.1 you could do this to get 2 (2 X 512kb) or 4 banks (3 X 256kb ) Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
