The Cerbios 2.3.2 with HD+ support is not far away with the ElpisHD in beta testing

Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

This is truly fantastic news. Cant wait for the open source HD+ solutions to start releasing. No way I give MakeMhz a penny of my cash.

... Except if it's for an HD+. 😛 Although the types of solutions like Harcroft is working on are open source and would be my first choice, since it uses the same exact ADV5711 chip and they can be built with the help of PCBway and Digikey. :)

I’ve been way out of the loop of updates lately, but I thought this was already a thing for the HD+ as long as you aren’t running a stellar chip.

The initial versions had the MCU, but it was removed as soon as Stellar was released and moved over to their modchip so that the two were locked together and the design of the HD+ that was released after Stellar's release was basically useless without Stellar. It became apparent very quickly that this was not a good business decision and they released their "legacy" module, which is basically Just the missing MCU that should objectively already be on the encoder anyway. Enough people feel a certain way about this that an almost free solution was found to address this issue and truly unlock the HD+ for use with any bios that codes in support for the ADV5711+STM32, and thus, any modchip.
