  6. Hello! For those people with a Xenium modchip, I have made an open source recreation of a legacy adaptor that allowed you to use extremely common and cheap HD44780 compliant character LCD displays with the Xenium modchip SPI interface. The legacy adaptor was called 'SPI2PAR' and has long since been out of production and extremely hard to come by. The old website actually still works for now (http://cheaplpc.com/xenlcd/) if you want to see what it was all about. This design and info is all on my github page https://github.com/Ryzee119/spi2par2019 It does everything the old one does I believe (although I never had one), but it also can read the Xbox SMBus directly with a couple extra wires to the LPC header for temperatures from the ADM1032 onboard temperature chip and fan speed which are displayed and updated on the LCD mid-game. It can also read the Conexant and Focus video chips to work out was resolution your game is running at which is displayed on the LCD aswell. (This doesnt work on a 1.6 though due to the Xcalibur chip) XBMC can already display these, but these extra SMBus features will only apply when you're in a game or program that doesn't normally support LCD. Works best on a 20x4 character display.

  9. My experience with the original xbox goes back to early after launch. My first one died a horrible death after many stuggles with the xenium ice modchip Looking back I'm sure I was more at fault than the chip. My second one (softmodded) is in the living room hooked up to a hdtv. My third one (softmodded) is hooked up to a sony tube tv and my forth is sitting across the room on a table awaiting the next mod project .I'm glad i found this place because you guys are an invaluable source of knowlege. thanks and best wishes.

  14. So I just scored a xenium chip, which came free with a broken Xbox. the seller just said it was broken, didn't even know the chip was in it. Its a 1.1/1.2 and the board looks like new. Turns out the old owner has never flashed the chip and was running the stock dash, but had some how managed to switch the chip switch so it was half on half off, so it wouldn't boot. well I fixed that and slapped a new drive in to take advantage of the set up tools. so now I have two dilemmas. 1. what's the best bios to drop on this chip, it's currently in the 1.1/1.2 board. 2. Should I just take it out and put it in one of my 1.6's which are near useless without being chipped. Because it's a waste in a board that can be so easily Tsop'd That said it has one of the teamxodus solder less LPC pads. Can you remove them ?. any ideas or feedback from you guys ?
  15. So you got one of these suckers installed in your 1.6 xbox, me too. Change the stock HD for a 500GB one. I got into the xenium os from boot, and loaded retail dashboard to change the clock, spot on. Rebooted back to Xenium, and loaded Evo, and setup my ftp ip, and noticed my hd only registered 129gb,well i was having non of it. So i ftp'd xpartioner 1.3 over, ran it and it told me i needed lba48 version 2, hmmm. Now this part is what i found online after massive searches and swearing bouts. Remember the usb lead you got for softmodding, well your gonna need it again with your flash drive. put your Hexen disk into pc and extract the bios file. The one you need for the 1.6 is (evox.m8plus.v16.fc.137.bin) put this file as is onto your flash drive. Plug drive into xbox, and boot to xenium os. select launch menu, and add new item, pick flash and select your evox file, name it give it a colour, and launch it. Job Done if you get any problem give us a yell.
