  1. Can I swap a cable from an official S controller and a Duke. I can solder so was thinking I could open my Duke as the lead is snagged - still working perfectly. I was planning on cutting the wire just inside both controllers and then soldering the non frayed wires from the 'S' to the Duke. Has anyone tried this? Should I just leave well enough alone? Thanks
  2. Hi - are 3rd party controllers compatible with Coun Ops 8 and Massive or is it better to stick with an original controller?
  3. I repaired a black Controller S just replacing the worn joysticks with alternatives which have worked well. The controller had joystick centering issues which those replacements pretty much eliminated. The controller has been used quite a lot over the two months since the repairs without any problems and then last night (BTW still very hot ambient temperatures 85+F) the controller started acting up. At first I thought it was a game glitch or a corrupt game save file but after being returned to the pause menu multiple times or just freezing with no controller response it started to tell me to reattach the controller to port 1. A replacement Controller S worked fine as far as I tested it so I do not think it is a controller port problem. I've had a similar thing with a used MS XB360 wired controller which was faulty. It would work fine then suddenly report the same thing or getting no signal despite the fact it was a wired controller. My suspicion was the cable had been run over by a vacuum cleaner or something similar as there was clear physical damage and exposed wires I'd wrapped in insulating tape. But I guess it was also stretched to the point one or more of the wires was part broken. However with this OG Xbox and Controller S its unlikely to be anything like that. The cable is always used with plenty of slack and has never knowingly been stretched or damaged. There's no evidence of that at all - the cable looks good. So what could cause this behaviour with a Controller S? Any ideas?
  4. Need chip of controller ( duke- smaller realease original) modded for wireless or with the shell too.
  5. Hopefully this is the right place for this. Are any of the pieces of the Xbox One controller compatible with the OG Xbox? I'm mostly curious about the ABXY buttons and the joysticks. I know that Xbox 360 joysticks will work on the OG Xbox controllers more or less, but the Xbox One has a lot more options for custom controller parts, so I wanted to see if anything was transferable.
  6. i know there is a way to mod an og xbox to use an xb1 controller but has anyone found a way to put an xb1 controllers circuit boards into an og xbox s controller shell?
  7. This is new to me - I had a Controller S go properly bad yesterday. It was one of those which had developed stick centering issues but I'd thought I'd fixed that using some plastic friendly lubrication. At the same time I also replaced the sticks as the thumb-pads were badly worn. The controller worked perfectly for six weeks after that but I had suspicion things were not quite right a few days ago when the Xbox booted and it would start scrolling through the main dash menu on its own again. Re-centering problems returning you'd think and that appeared to be the case because if I rolled the sticks 360 degrees a few times and then rebooted all started behaving normally again. But last night something else went wrong: the attached memory card was continuously being reported as corrupt (its not) and the main dash menus were not auto scrolling up or down as they had before, they were actually stuck. You could move the menu down using the d-pad but selecting a particular menu item was very difficult. It would shift up one and then just wouldn't launch. Removing the controller and rebooting appeared to fix the problem but shortly after I started a game I discovered the left trigger was not working and some other buttons too. Rebooted again, tried a different game - all good initially but the same faulty behaviour soon reappeared. Using another controller quickly confirmed this was a specific controller issue not a controller port or Xbox console one. Anyone else had a Controller S go bad like this?
  8. Hello everyone, first off all, excuse for my English as I am Brazilian I just got an Og Xbox 1.0 with Xecuter2 and I'm still learning a lot about this beauty but I have a problem and maybe someone here can help me. I was browsing the forum but found nothing on this specific matter. The Xbox works fine except for one thing: the controller keeps disconnecting. It came with some 3rd party controllers and an adapter for PS2 controllers, so no original controller for me. The funny thing is that when it disconnects I only can make it work again when I wrap the cable around the controller and make my way unpluging and pluging it back. Someone told me that it could be caused by a faulty cable on the controllers but I checked the cables with a multimeter and they appear to work fine. The PS2 adapter sometimes work and sometimes do not work, but the LED on the adapter is always on. I also disassembled the box for cleaning and to take off the clock capacitor (that was leaked btw), time when I also checked the daughterboard to see if it was faulty, and it was not. Given the situation, I can only think of two options: 1. the 3rd party controllers and adapter are really crappy and don't work fine with the console and I should get an original controller; or 2. my daughterboard is defective and should be replaced. I don't think there's a software problem here but since all things related to Og Xbox are completely new to me, I can be wrong. Anyways, the help I want/need is to try to find a way to discover the problem since Og Xbox parts or controllers are really not easy or cheap to find in Brazil... Cheers
  9. My only controller died, and I've been in need of a replacement, but eBay's often awful shipping prices have made my choices limited in that I either spend on a "knockoff" that might be questionable in quality, or spend quite a bit more on an OGX360 kit. Would be looking for an original Xbox controller here to ship to Canada. I'll accept any of the colours, though Blue is the most preferred. Please contact with price offers. Thanks!
  10. hey guys, i've a problem with my xbox-controller in connection to my pc. when I need to pair my controller with my laptop with the xbox app i am getting this mistake message: 0x800708ca do you have any concept what i'm able to do about it?
  11. I'm having a weird issue with a 1.2 I'm attempting to fix, for some reason, all of the controller ports are working except for port 2. The clock cap was removed and there looked to be some leakage however there doesn't appear to be any trace rot near the area where the cap was on either side of the board and all other caps appear to be in good condition. Also, I tried swapping out the ports with one from a console that works and port 2 still does not work with any controller plugged in. Looking around, this doesn't appear to be a common issue and I'm not sure what else I could be missing. Pictures of the board are attached.
  12. Hi, I've managed to do all of the steps to install the unleashedx softmod via usb and splinter cell, the ftp settings, placing the snes9x X folder in the correct location, and getting the emulator to show up on the console. All i had left to do is simply hit the A button on any one one of the Roms to start them up, and yet nothing happens when i do that? The A button works fine for literally everything else except starting the Roms. I'm hoping it's because i have an off brand madcatz controller, and not an original xbox controller. Or maybe it's something more simple than that? Corrupted Roms maybe?
  13. Hi I just stepped into this does anyone have some info about this Controller?
  14. xbox controller keeps disconnecting i tried another new controller and is disconnecting again i tried with ps2 converter adaptor controller still the same problem the controller work fine the xbox ports are fine where is the problem plz help me
  15. So yes, I know it sounds weird, but I dream with disabling or remove the analogue/sensitive button crap from my Xbox controller! I want to play the Splinter Cell games and their sensitivity is horrible the way it works with the original Xbox controller (you have to press very hard on the face buttons for actions to register). It would also help other games and compatibility with other controllers (I've heard the wireless logitech controllers have compatibility issues with original xbox controllers that USE the sensitive functionality). At least I would want to make it so every push of the button, no matter how slightly, it would push at 255 strength every time. Anybody has any idea of how to begin doing this? This would be done in hardware hopefully. All ideas are welcome

  17. Guys, I need some feedback from some veterans out there. I have my first original Xbox, and I modded it, etc. But I also have a few original games that came with my Xbox etc. one of them is the first Splinter Cell. The problem is simple, for doing anything in the game I have to press "SUPER" hard on the buttons! (for the action to be performed) Now I know what you'll tell me, buy a new Xbox controller. I just got an original mint condition controller from Japan. All other games I've played don't have this problem, on the opposite I hardly touch the button and the action is performed! (in every other game) The controller is in mint condition and it's original Xbox brand! Is this how the game was coded? I have the platinum hits version of Splinter Cell by the way. Thank you all guys, you are a great community from what I have seen, my regards
  18. Hi All It took a bit but it's working the way I wanted. All hidden inside the case. I wanted to be able to retain the Original controller or plug in a wireless adapter for the Xbox360 wirless controller. Using Ryzee119's adapter and some switching and making use of the light gun wire I got it working. At this stage it is just the 1st port with the other ports untouched. The only small issue is the 5 second delay before the 360 controller will work after that the there doesn't appear to be any lag between the 2. The video clip should give you the idea of what I wanted. https://youtu.be/rVq23B0gLdU Cheers SS Dave

  20. Hi all, I'm wanting to emulate the Steel Battalion Controller and to allow use of a keyboard or joystick or some other configuration which I haven't worked out yet. Just wondering if anyone owns a Steel Battalion Controller, a >24Mhz Logic analyser, a sense of adventure and is willing to help me out!? The information online which I have found so far is pretty limited, There's a small section at the bottom of http://xboxdevwiki.net/Xbox_Input_Devices but it is missing the rest of the interface descriptor and also doesn't have any information about the XID descriptor and capability descriptors allowing the Xbox to actually detect anything with my basic testing. (Maybe it doesn't even have them? I'm not sure yet) What I am looking for in the first instance is: 1. A complete USB descriptor dump of the Steel Battalion Controller when plugged into a PC using something like https://www.thesycon.de/eng/usb_descriptordumper.shtml 2..A Logic analyser trace of the USB data bus with the controller plugged into the OG Xbox console, probably within the Steel Battalion game or during the first 10-20 seconds of the game loading up. I'm a bit more familiar with the Saleae logic analyser software but I can probably work out whatever. But ideally it needs to be able to decode USB packets and control transfers. You can get Saleae clones for under $10 https://ebay.us/BFvaaH 3. I will take care of the rest unless I find something unusual and need further info. I've never actually used or owned one of these controllers so any input to what a good controller configuration on a keyboard/joystick might be would help but getting it detected on the OG Xbox console is the first milestone! Obviously can't guarantee anything, but the intent is that it would be compatible with https://github.com/Ryzee119/ogx360 Cheers!
  21. Will a 360 usb controller work on a OG Xbox? I see that the OG Xbox has a 5th wire labeled timing signals.
  22. Got 3 custom built NES Xbox controllers for sale. They are custom built and use the original controller cable, a new NES classic controller shell and work just like a regular official Xbox controller. Perfect for playing NES or Gameboy games on the Xbox! Price: 40€ each+shipping costs.
  23. Tried this on a v1.2 mobo but didnt have any success... Is this info bogus or am i missing something? I would appriciate any input. I attached the instructions that i followed.. ttps://www.google.com/amp/s/synapse.wordpress.com/2006/10/26/xbox-controller-power-push-button-mod/amp/ xbox_pushbuttonmod.pdf
  24. I am looking for someone who is able to preform the following mods. X3IR mod and the internal Logitech controller dongle mod. Thank you.
  25. Is anyone interested in an partly working orange Madcatz controller. It is wireless, the rubber is in bad condition, the case is good though. One rumble motor need to be soldered, the triggers needs to be pushed hard to get them to max and it is dismantled. It comes with the receiver and all parts. I have no idea on price, so open for offers if anyone is interested. Shipping must be covered by buyer, and tbh it can be a bit expensive from here. Sent from my 16th using Tapatalk
