  1. So two months ago I was really enjoying playing doom on my Xbox via Odamex and found out that it can also directly be run through the use of shortcuts. So I made some shortcuts for the wads that I wanted to play and put them in a folder. When I tried to add artwork (_resources) to it they don't show up at the hombrew screen but inside of the folder (also it doesn't show the name of the folder) : Now I don't think this is supported but I wanted to know if there's a way to pull it off. Xbmc probably requires a default.xbe inside the folder for it to not get recognized as "just a folder" and show the name and artwork. What I was thinking is that would be possible to make it read some dummy xbe and use that to recognize the folder's name and artwork? (But then launching the shortcuts might not be possible) Also for some reason it reads the _resources folder as an item and it's subdirectories as well. (If there's a way to make xbmc ignore/don't do this that would be great as well) : https://i.postimg.cc/7PM1FTMc/IMG-20231124-134650.jpg (Shortcuts works fine tho)
  2. hi so rather that downloading the massive version i opted to add stuff to the lite version only problem is when i added say n64 or psx roms/isos to the correct folders it doesn't reflect in coinops what am i doing wrong?
  3. OK, I have tried many times to add a .jpg picture as my profile pic. I have ftpd it over and I pick it as a profile pick but it shows up blank. My jpg is 315 x 274 pixels. Also there is no preview. Also I can select other jpgs stored on my Xbox and they work. Any suggestions? Thanks
  4. using JX 720 skin, it has tray button - open and close, and run .xbe file from the disk. So i guess there is a way to make a button that activates unmount .xbe file. I managed to add custom entries like for Homebrew, etc. Really cool thing to have entrie like that, but instead of opening homebrew folder, it activates .xbe file which unmounts xiso.

  6. Hey I know you can add main menu options with custom folder paths but when I set it to an app and select it, it opens the folder instead of the app inside it. Is there any way to add a path to a specific file?
  7. I have recently discovered the stuff you can do with a wii2hdmi adapter, where you can chuck an xbox video connector to the back of it, and have the xbox og output over HDMI. I have just completed this mod, and found it simple enough. The xbox connector itself is however a bit fidly. I think there would be enough room under the DVD drive to mount a board and get hdmi output directly out of the back of the console, which would be alot cleaner in style and easier to use (without having a huge dongle sticking out of the back of the console). Now in order to get video signals, I figured I would just solder to the bottom of the motherboard where the video output connector is connected. I havnt had much play with this connector yet, and had planned to attempt to map it out to the connector., Does anyone have this already, which would make my life a little easier. I am also mindful of the fact that the wires inside the Faraday cage of the xbox would be liable to interference, it is part of my plan to perhaps use cat6 or similar shielded cable between the connections. Has anyone got any thoughts on this?
  8. So I want to add some LEDs now to my Xbox. I don't have an understanding standing yet of electrical currents and voltages and resistors it'll be something I pick up as I understand but if someome could point me in the right direction or give me we ideas on the things I might need? I'm curious to how many LEDs I could run or how to figure that out.
  9. All, I've got Xbox with the Rocky soft mod. It is remod of an old Xbox that has all the emulators on the G drive. What is the best way for me to get emulators? I have found them online and can FTP into the Xbox but where do I add them? Should I be downloading an emulator specific software to the Xbox? Maybe there is a walkthrough somewhere that I am missing? Thanks!
  10. Hey I am having an issue with emustation and adding Sega games. I have SNES and NES all setup. When I go and add my Sega ROMs they cut off the last letter of most of my ROMs names. Which then it won't allow me to link my artwork. I can't seem to get around this. Any one else experience this. Could it be my rom set? The games all work as they should just the art work and names being cut off. They are .Md. Designation. I have tried it under both genesis and mega drive
  11. Hey guys, So @N64 freak posted his awesome PCB HDMI converter in another thread. With luck he will be able to make these available for everyone. Until such a time I am annoyed with having my DIY Component cable going into a cheap amazon converter. I figure it would be easy enough to do the "dirty version" where you gut a converter down to the PCB and solder wires to the mobo. In researching the pinout of the AV connector on the mobo i found a great post from a gent named William Quade. He did a nice write up on his blog about doing it and I thought i'd share it here in case someone else is interested. https://quade.co/2017/original-xbox-hdmi/ Note: He admits his hole for the HDMI port is terrible and I recommend anyone who's doing this mod do it properly with a panel mount HDMI or at the very least, cut the hole with a dremel. His looks like a tiny bear was trying to get into his xbox but the point of the blog post was to show where you need to solder which is the important part.
  12. I am sure it is just experience (my lack of) but there seems to be a certain amount of Voodoo involved with adding a new Hard Disk to a TSOP'd system using HeXEn I have successfully done it but now I am using a SATA 1TB Drive w/adapter and I am on my third try at it (formatting etc.). Still nothing. I am wondering if my Seagate ST1000DM003 is not compatible or I am missing something? Any advice?
