1. This adapter is for my Windows PC's HDD, not an Xbox HDD fix/mod. There's supposedly a bug in the firmware that when it glitches causes the drive to report a size of 0 blocks. During POST, the PC BIOS won't recognize the drive so Windows can use it. The BIOS sees the drive brand/model/serial number/etc; however, It has 0 blocks accessible and won't set it up for the OS to access it. A majority of the Xbox Tools I've downloaded over several years are on that HDD. Seagate SATA drives have a serial port accessible on 3 pins of the header next to the SATA connector: RX, TX and GND. This serial port allows Seagate to communicate with the drive's firmware. Some people have found a few proprietary (secret) commands to reinitialize the drive so it once again is seen with the correct size by the PC's BIOS with the data intact.
2. Most, if not all, SATA HDDs support the ATA security feature to lock the HDD. The Xbox compatible HDD list is accessible at: http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/
3. A Dev Kit already supports the entire 128MB of RAM with it's BIOS. To run retail games, there's an app to allow you to run them from the devkit's dashboard. I'll have to see if I can find it again as my HDD croaked with a majority of my Xbox modding files. Finally received the USB serial-to-TTL level adapter to try and repair the drive as I've found others have done. Can you PM me a copy of the EEPROM file?
4. I think the Yoshihiro BIOS is a fixed M8 for 1.6B, not Evox M8plus. The M8plus release has a v1.0-1.5 and v1.6 compatible dot bin file to flash according to which version console you are modding. I'm not sure what LBA48 configuration Yoshihiro's M8 BIOS supports. F takes the rest F up to 137GB and G the rest if present, uses the custom partition table written to the HDD by XBPartitioner v1.3 instead The G drive has to be enabled in UnleashX before it will show up.
5. Sounds like a bad power/control cable (all yellow 12 wires), not the IDE cable. This cable carries power and status signals to the PIC System Management Controller (SMC) about the tray status. The picture above should state at DVD, not at MB. The motherboard end of the able has two more pins 13 and 14 with no connection (N/C).
6. Decisions made to during development of XBMC. Q: will always be a fixed drive letter to access folders needed to run the default.xbe file of XBMC. WHY? Also. X, Y, and Z were MS cache drives. the devs decided a user should not touch; thus, they are hidden. This default behavior can be changed by editing the configuration file(s). I seem to recall separate settings for the file manager and FTP server.
7. It's 80-wires with 40-pins still, not 80.
8. Have you tried an 80-wire 40-pin IDE cable instead of the Xbox's stock 40-wire/pin cable? Seems most IDE-to-SATA adapters negotiate a higher transfer rate which exceeds the 33MB/s speed it supports .Use XBPartitioner v1.3, no need to make a small partition then change to a different XBPartitioner version to set the larger partition size. V1.3 supports 64KB clusters for up to 1TB (927.78GB) partitions you'll need to install a 2TB HDD. BIOS Use one of the latest versions released. There are several: Evolution-x M8plus (256KB) X2 5035 (512KB), or X2 4983.67 (256KB) iND-BiOS 5003.67 (256KB), or iND-BiOS Beta Feb-11-05 (256KB) (aka, 5004.67) Which version Xbox? I'm guessing a 1.6 with the BIOS you were using. Use M8plus as it supports v1.6 Xboxes.
9. Does the TSOP_M7 BIOS boot to a dashboard? Which one? Can you upload and run evoxdash from the booting dashboard? If it runs, evoxdash should be able to re-flash the modchip.
10. The MEGA and mediafire.com links don't require 3 posts, do they? Only the link to download directly from ogxbox.com but I've more than 3 posts and that one never works for me.
11. No, it does not. The sites that hosted the skins are no longer online and have not been for many years.
12. Try using XboxHDM 2.2a or XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 or Beta 3 versions (HDD connected to PC via a USB to HDD interface adapter). XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 vs Beta 3 Beta 2, at a minimum, needs the MSDashboard files added to the hdm\C folder. Beta 3 is preconfigured to install a no-original-game-disc-required installer of Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool.
13. Boot the Hexen Disk and clean the HDD of softmod files as the menu states to finish the TSOP process.
14. If the Xplorer360 on the PC can't detect the partitions, most likely, the HDD is still locked.
15. The easiest way to get a new SATA drive working is to use Chimp 261812 to clone the original HDD to the new larger SATA drive. You need to power both the original and new HDD/adapter combo with a Molex Y-power splitter when the console boots. The KingWin ADP-06 adapter cannot be used to clone the HDD as it has no jumper to change from MASTER to SLAVE device on the IDE bus. The StarTech adapter does and during cloning, set it to SLAVE. Once the HDD is cloned, you will need to use an 80-wire 40-pin IDE cable for reliable SATA HDD operation. The KingWin ADP-06 adapter can be used at this point since the HDD needs to be the MASTER device on the IDE bus. Also, remember to lock the HDD before exiting Chimp.
16. Please start a new topic. This question has nothing to do with UnleashX Skins. Thx.
17. I possibly have some but on a currently dysfunctional hard drive. I had an xbox-skins archive with many skins, etc. but don't know if there were emulator icon sets in it. Do you have any examples of the style you are looking for? Update: N163LPH03N1X has some sets of icons. http://n163lph03n1x.wixsite.com/home/xbox-icons
18. You have to have a properly programmed LC4064V. From Lattice, the chips are not programmed. The code to program an LCD supporting Aladdin modchip has not been released.
19. It won't do any good as that modchip doesn't support an LCD. The CPLD, a Lattice LC4032V, doesn't have enough macrocells to implement LCD support. Thus, the reason clones left off traces to the pads for an LCD and had no pot installed.
20. You edit the menu in config.xml. The Format menu item is used to format the HDD has nothing to do with formatting the menu entries. (Passcode: AYBX) Setup of the skin's look and menu is split across two XML files Any skin name listed without being surrounded by < and > symbols are built into UnleashX and cannot be modified. If you want to use a modifiable Blueshapes skin you'll need to add a copy of its skin.xml file to a subfolder in UnleashX's skins folder. Rocky5 extracted the builtin skins from UnleashX's default.xbe file. The ZIP archive is attached. UnleashX default Skins.zip However, skin.xml only changes the look of the skin. The shapes and graphics used to create the background that menu items and dashboard information variable values (text): date/time, IP address, partition freespaces, etc. are displayed on. The menu itself (category items) are found in UnleashX's config.xml file in the <Menu>...</Menu> section. You use a text editor to edit the file, save it, FTP upload the updated copy - overwrite the current file, then reboot. See the Menu section of the Xbox Softmodding Tool's UnleashX config.xml below: <Menu>
Launch Disc
<List Text="Applications" Sort="On" DelayLoad="True"> C:\Applications E:\Applications F:\Applications G:\Applications C:\Apps E:\Apps F:\Apps G:\Apps </List> <List Text="Emulators" Sort="On" DelayLoad="True"> E:\Emulators F:\Emulators G:\Emulators E:\Emus F:\Emus G:\Emus </List> <List Text="Games" Sort="On" DelayLoad="True"> E:\Games F:\Games G:\Games </List> <List Text="Homebrew" Sort="On" DelayLoad="True"> E:\Homebrew F:\Homebrew G:\Homebrew </List> <List Text="System" Sort="On"> <List Text="Clear Cache" Sort="Off" Batch="True">
Doing this can help with applications or games that crash or refusing to boot.

The CACHE has been cleared!
</List> <List Text="Clear Recent list" Sort="Off" Batch="True">
Recent list already cleared, or recent.dat doesn't exist

Recent list cleared, this may require reloading the dashboard if list is still populated.
</List> <List Text="Copy Disc to HDD" Sort="Off" Batch="True">
Proceed with copying the disc to the HDD? 21. Is this the hulk skin you mention? [4955]Hulk_ZXB1.zip I think I have the animatrix skin too but the HDD it is stored on is currently messed up. Have some parts on order to try and fix it. Will look at my getting places in the meantime. I sure thought I'd installed it on my Xbox b4 but it is not there now.
22. Which particular skin(s)? Don't say ALL. Start with a few of the best you are mainly interested in. There are many shown.
23. Hmm, I've not had that happen. I know he's re-organized the repo. It used to be on google drive and now it's on mediafire. Update: Now that I think about it, it actually did happen a lot when it was on google. But, I've not had the same happen after he moved it all to mediafire.
24. So the system is softmodded and is using a Virtual EEPROM. Thus, any dashboard started modifying the EEPROM settings was only changing the in-memory copy, not the actual EEPROM hardware. The rescuedash on the R: drive has the Virtual EEPROM disabled.
25. Try SPPV's GREPO archive: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/7hm662wc5c6ed/SNES
