  1. You cannot make it any longer. The maximum number of characters for the XBE Title is limited to 40 Unicode characters (80 bytes). Star Wars - Knights of the old Republic = 39 characters Star Wars - Knights of the old Republic 2 = 41 characters Remove the space before and after the '-' to make them similar in format and less than or equal to 40 characters.
  2. Take a look at: ps2wide.net / Xbox Original section Silent Hill 2: Restles Dreams / ID: 4B4E0004
  3. See if moving the -d sat,12 option changes anything. It may not but generally the device id is the last option of the command. smartctl.exe -d sat,12 -s security-unlock,"WDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWD" /dev/sdb Try it without the ,12 too. smartctl.exe -d sat -s security-unlock,"WDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWD" /dev/sdb Edit: Is /dev/sdb the correct device for your Xbox hard drive? Which \\.\PHYSICALDRIVEN (value of N) has Windows assigned to it? Find it by issuing the command: wmic diskdrive get model, name
  4. I fixed the WD Master password in the post on reddit. Thanks for telling me about the typo.
  5. The X3CP did not come with an IR mod. It does have a location to install an IR sensor. Team Xecuter did sell the X3IR to go along with the X3CP and X3/X3CE modchip.
  6. Try -s instead of -g for the security-unlock option as well add double quotes around the password.
  7. Sounds like it is losing power. After a power cycle the hard drive will be locked. Do you have a Molex power cable attached to the hard drive? ediy: USB alone cannot power a 3.5" hard drive.
  8. What does usbview display for the vendor and product IDs of this adapter?
  9. For better compatibility, obtain a USB 2.0 to hard drive interface adapter instead of a USB 3.0 one. smartmontools.org's Compatibility Info for the Innostor Adapter Innostor 0x1f75 (No Name) Innostor IS611 0x1f75:0x0611 (0.06) Innostor Technology Corporation / IS611 SATA/PATA Bridge Controller -d sat OR -d sat,12 Arch Linux, Windows 10 21H1 zacchi4k If IDE/PATA drives don't work (unsupported scsi opcode), try updating the firmware and running the command with the -d sat,12 argument (a Google search for "IS611 firmware" will bring you a Windows utility to upgrade the firmware to version 0937) Source: Supported_USB-Devices_idVendor-0x1000 – smartmontools The SAT device option is the one to use. Unlock Xbox Hard Drive Since it is an original Western Digital drive, you can unlock it using the MASTER password: WDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWD Simply temporarily unlock the hard drive. Do NOT remove it.
  10. Error 06 - hard drive cannot be unlocked Try connecting the hard drive to your PC and using FATXplorer 3.0 beta with its set of known Xbox scene Master passwords to unlock it.
  11. I definitely suggest updating the BIOS on your modchip to a much newer BIOS release. CerBIOS 2.2.1 beta (download available here or xbins FTP server), patched ind-bios 5003 release or M8plus after being loaded and saved by EVTool v1.0.9 to add the LBA48 v3 patch to its xbins FTP server distro.
  12. You should not have to rename the Xbox dashboard's dot xbe file - xboxdash.xbe. XBMC4Gamers is not started, well should not be started, from that file on the Xbox's C drive.
  13. You may want to grab the Audio.zip file there too. That is, if you want to Xbox dashboard's audio files.
  14. Is there a large shadowc.img file on your C drive?
  15. Not sure what they are seeing. No picture was posted by them. Only their statement in the first post: The only BIOS flash screen I know of is FlashBIOS's flash option. The Enable Network Flashing option allows one to flash the X2 modchip with a BIOS by connecting the Xbox to your home network and using a web browser. Once enabled by pressing the (A) button on the controller, enter the IP address shown on the screen in the web browser's address bar to connect to FlashBIOS's web server. Follow the instructions to select the BIOS file and flash it to the modchip.
  16. I've not tested this procedure. But, I always thought that once the BIOS was loaded from the modchip's flash, the chip could be removed without causing a problem. The kernel gets loaded into RAM and runs from there. No need for the modchip anymore until the console is rebooted/power cycled which loads the BIOS/kernel again across the LPC bus.
  17. Same as C6C12 and several other caps by the RAM chips. Power supply decoupling/bypass/filtering caps. Most likely a 0.1 microFarad ceramic X7R 0603 bypass capacitor. I've not found schematics of a retail Xbox.
  18. No, a majority of the Xbox BIOSes are only 256KBs. The flash on v1.0 and v1.1 motherboards is 1MB in size and holds 4 copies of the BIOS. Later revisions of the motherboard use a 256KB flash instead of a 1MB chip. This device holds only 1 copy of the BIOS.
  19. FlashBIOS or any other Cromwell-based BIOS does not do normal Xbox operations. They cannot play games, run a replacement dashboard or boot an Xbox disc either original or a burned copy. Booting a homebrew modded Xbox installer disc (e.g., Hexen or OGXbox Installer 2021 to name two) is such an operation it cannot do.
  20. Not quite right. The v2.x versions are only for the X2 modchips while v3.0.x work on either the X2 or X3 modchips.
  21. It's not broken. The port is 40 pins - well 39 since one is used to key the connector so it can't be installed the wrong way, not 60 that you state for a replacement part.
  22. Yes, CerBIOS will work on it. Or, you can use Evox M8plus v16 after adding the LBA48 v3 patch by loading the BIOS's dot bin file into EVTool v1.0.9 and saving it to have the patch applied then flash it to the modchip. XBMC4Gamers is a replacement dashboard that you install on the hard drive. Since your Xbox is hard modded, there's no need to clone the current to new drive. Download the content you want to place on the new drive to your PC then upload it back once the new drive has been prepared with an installer disc such as OGXbox Installer 2021 v1.5.4.
  23. What was the problem and its solution?
  24. How did you lock the hard drive? Each hard drive has its own unique password.
