  1. OMG! Those pads!!! Where have they gone!?! Cool looking 6.3v caps.
  2. No, not for a small HDD. 64 for a 2TB but it will be a lot different for yours - maybe 16. Goal is to get rid of the ER.
  3. yes
  4. If both Xboxes are TSOP flashed then install the HDD from the good Xbox into the non-working Xbox. This will rule out a software conflict and then we move into hardware.
  5. Greetings from Canada! Glad to have you here!
  6. I use a StarTech HDD duplicator that can do a sector by sector write. (Mine is a SATDOCK2REU3.) I use HDD Raw Copy Tool to write the HDD image. The SATDOCK2REU3 is very flexible. You can have it setup like a regular USB 3.0 device where Windows reads and writes to it. It can work independent from a computer and perform 1:1 clones of existing HDDs. You can make a copy (image) of the HDD on your computer and then write it to other HDDs. Very cool toy.
  7. I think next time I might just paint a white dot on the one side so that I can determine polarity in plain sight.
  8. (Those darn diodes were the worst, @Ryzee119! Next time think of your elders. LOL!)
  9. Had so much fun assembling some OGX360s today. The Xbox 360 controller on an OG Xbox is a dream. Thank you, @Ryzee119!!!
  10. I look forward to hearing your success story!
  11. Just fault-finding at this point. The problem is probably within the Xbox but it is good to go through a few of these steps to to confirm. If you don't eliminate these possibilities then you risk going down rabbit holes when you open up the Xbox. Let us know what you find out.
  12. Is it possible to try the Xbox with a different component cable running directly to the TV's component ports? (Even if you need to bring it to a friend's TV.)
  13. So, with the same cable setup, can you load TruHexen2019 Disc, and if so, does it produce the same problems? EDIT: and you are using all NTSC, including TV?
  14. Light drag. No pressure really. If you need to apply pressure, do it only in the same direction as the pins, one or two pins at a time. I've done this memory upgrade at 650 deg F and at 750 deg F. 750 deg F seemed flawless. 650 deg F seemed to need more work. Safer for people to start off at lower temps though.
