  1. IGR is embedded in the bios, you can turn it off and on with some of the dashboards. You can edit the ind-bios.cfg file to tell which dash to boot to. If you had a softmod it would boot to your default dash. here’s an old list of which bios has igr and which options are available. Just scroll down to igr options. https://web.archive.org/web/20160316051856/http://xbox-scene.com:80/bios_retail.html
  2. With evtool you can edit the bios to boot to logo or dash.
  3. Are you hardmodded, if so what bios are you using and what igr settings are you using with it?
  4. why don’t you just use xboxhdm to install the files you need for the hardmod, then you don’t need hexen? Are you sure that you dvd drive is reading aftermarket disks?
  5. Hiya and welcome, hard or soft?! Whichever you should be able to get help and answers here.
  6. Go for the latest version, there is also slayer’s and auto installer deluxe.
  7. If flashbios is on the other bank it would normally show a black screen if you were using the wrong version or video output cable. What error code are you getting?
  8. Check your connections, make sure the wires are crossing over to a minimum and away from other components as much as possible.
  9. Flashbios is normally on the other bank and you use it flash the 1st. If you have the evox dash you can flash using the flash menu with the bios you want to load in a folder called bios either on your c or e partition. If you have an install disk you can use that to flash the bios. If you want to flash the 2nd bank, boot up using the 1st bank then just switch to the 2nd bank before you press the flash bios on what ever method you use.
  10. It’s based on this https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index.php?/topic/996-internal-hdmi-mod-diy-sets/
  11. You can run 480 and 720 on a pal Xbox it just needs to be modded and to use enigmah to run video in ntsc. There are plenty of how to videos on YouTube to softmod or hardmod your 1.6, but I think you will find it easier to softmod you can always hardmod later. Here are a couple of the more recent softmod videos. https://youtu.be/PpCIgmPG6hk https://youtu.be/lW6QsGXTrFQ
  12. If you don’t have any soldering skills you are going to need to buy a 128MB MB or do a lot of practicing before you give it a try. You will also need to make sure you have a bios on your modchip or TSOP that supports the ram upgrade. The advantages of using a xenium or multi bank modchip is that you can edit the bios and not have to worry about bricking your Xbox. With the xenium you also have support for an lcd mod.
  13. If you are starting with no modding skills or equipment it will be easier for you to softmod an Xbox. Do you have a Xbox or are you planning to use a pc with an emulator?
  14. Hi, so you have a softmod, which one have you used? Have you used the enigmah app to run your Xbox in ntsc to allow 480 and 720? Have you used a patched .xbe for gta San Andreas?
  15. From the picture it doesn’t look like the chip is setting on the pinheader.
  16. Post a picture of the pads you have damaged as there are alternative tsop points on the MB. Here’s an old thread on alternative points https://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1822
  17. Practice on a piece of junk 1st and then practice some more and don’t drink coffee immediately before giving it a go, it always gives me the shakes.
  18. Here’s an old thread about using hdd raw to clone your drive. https://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3997
  19. When you do a tsop you normally start from a softmod. The softmod allows you to use a install disk like hexen to flash the bios to the tsop and then load the files you need to run as a hardmod. Dave has a usb that loads via the game save straight into the XBlast os to do the tsop bios flash. I think there is a YouTube video of it. found it
  20. Here’s a list of what should work https://www.reddit.com/r/originalxbox/wiki/usb?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf I use a sandisk 1gb micro sd card in a usb adaptor.
  21. Hiya, just post a couple of pictures someone here should be able to id them.
  22. Why don’t you just tsop it?
  23. Here you go https://xboxdevwiki.net/LPC_Debug_Port i would do as Dave suggest and run a wire from ground for pin 2.
  24. Have you done a resistance test between ground and pin 2?
  25. I think they are a bit potluck. I was lucky and got one that works great. There are reports on the earlier version working better than the latest.
