  1. I would not recommend using a clock cap pulled from a version 1.6 board as it's get to the end of it's life as well, It's not the usage it's the age and build quality of the cap that's the problem. There is also now cases of the version 1.6 caps now starting to leak so if you really want to replace it for the short term (hours) clock retention then fit a new 1f 2.5v or 1.5f 2.5 volt capacitor Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. That is the OGX360 This is the original of the OGX360 The one in mine came from Lukas (N64 Freak) Pros and cons The original version is supplied as a 2 controller system but can be expanded to 4 controllers and if you use Xbox 360 controls and the usb receiver it will do up to 4 player. It can with a separate interface be internally fitted with auto switching from the stock ports and the USB receiver. The version that's in mine is 2 player max using the Xbox 360 controls and usb receiver and has the switching built in and is really plug and play With both versions it is feasible to fit the receiver inside the Xbox but you would need to remote mount a button for pairing the controllers. 3. There is 2 types of internal HDMI This one is based on a wii2hdmi and the PCB can be got from a chinese place called dirty pcb. On this one I removed the 3.5mm socket thats for left.right audio out as it's not needed Then the better one is the N64 freak's version Both take the component signal and convert to HDMI with the audio for the wii2hdmi taking the left and right audio and injecting it to the HDMI, The N64 freak version uses the digital audio to HDMI. There is a fair size cost difference but you get what you pay for either a custom made item or a item that been modified to work. Picture wise it's a close call but the digital sound wins out especially if the rest of you sound system is up to it. There has also been some work been done on a pure digital HDMI (no conversion from component) that looks like it grabs what it needs before the on board video chip. The only negative is that Chimp the hard drive cloning program won't display on anything above composite . 4. DVD dongle and the Ir is under the black tape where the white plug is hanging Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. I did some calculations some time a go and a CR2032 battery would give around 85 days and a CR2025 around 60 days. There is plenty of super caps that would drop in place of the Aerogel one but it will also fail over time as well. Even the super cap in one of my nixie tube clock failed after 5 years and like a version 1.6 Xbox it stopped working until I replaced it. And in that 5 years the clock and not been disconnected for the power. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. That version 1.4 is one of the cleanest I have seen in a long time and it's for a forum member and he has some big plans for it. This is my $5 version 1.4 and the ram upgrade happen because I could not sleep one night and it's come to a standstill for a bit. This is one I am working on at the moment for myself and waiting on the ram chip that are on the way. As well as a N64 freaks internal HDMI to be fitted after the ram. So far I have set Port 3 as a DVD dongle and USB port that can both work at the same time. Port 4 is the USB for the OGX360 interface. Ports 1,2 are stock controller ports. See if you can spot the DVD dongle. And the Ir receiver for the DVD dongle is mounted 100% out of sight with no affect to the remote range (over 10 meters). 7. Sound like the F and G partitions are not set try using Xbpartitioner to set the Drive space correctly . Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  8. What size Hard drive and what are you using to FTP? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  9. I would have a look at it for you but the postage would be a killer to and from Australia. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. Looks very nice and the leds would look good as long as they are not to bright. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. How many is too many ? Last count 20 not including my X3cp for the lounge, Guest kid's bed room, Pool room, and the display NOS black box,Halo,Crystal. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. Hi Craiguk For the 128meg upgrade there maybe a member here that will put there hand up. The 1st time I replaced a 80 pin micro it took me 60 minutes the ram upgrade I did the other night 90 minutes including 2 coffee stops 10 SMS and talking hands free for 15 minutes while soldering and board cleaning between each chip. I got up in the morning and seen this on my bench, The Xblast lite chip is temporary to test each chip as I go then gets removed when it's all done. Then I connect a SD card hard drive and sit a small fan on the heatsinks like below and soak test for 24 hours including launching some games, attract mode in CoinOps 8 and power cycles. This fan is a quick adjustable temperature controlled setup I made and it keeps the CPU/GPU at 47c with the room temp around 25c. 13. Use the 256kb for that Aladdin modchip Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  14. It would be better if you can tell me the make of modchip or maybe a pic before you go flashing. The problem with the bios checking program is 2 things 1st it's way out of date and 2nd is it inaccurate. I tested it with 4 different modchips and it got it correct once. For flashing the mod chip's I use Xblast and that can be installed from hexen you then FTP the BIOS file to C drive in a folder called bios (C:bios) then load Xblast and select settings,Flash menu,HDD flash then click on the EvoxM8plus_16 bios from the list and confirm flash with the buttons displayed on the screen. The Xbox will reboot with the new BIOS when finished. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. The Aladdin XT plus chip can have the LC4032 chip flash to be a single 1024kb(1meg) with write protect ,dual 512kb providing that the 49LF080A is used. So it's a duoX2 chip in other words If it flashed as a Xblast it' has a 1 X512kb and a 1 X256kb Bios using the 49LF080A Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  16. You need to use a M8plus_16.bin bios The _16 is for a version 1.6 Xbox This is a tool that can customise the Evox BIOS (EVtool.exe) and there is a copy of the M8plus_16 bios in there as well https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wm71grg65h285lf/AAApzqnRjA9KjomS73xmImfUa?dl=0 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  17. Hi bassinhuntin It sound like a power supply problem and possibly solder joints have started to fail. Is it possible to post some picks. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  18. Yes the power supplies can bite there is nearly 2 times the line voltage there ie 110 volt around 200 volt dc and 220 volt ac around 300 volt dc. The thing that I did see was the conductive paint and that means it was more than likely TSOP Flashed before. I would clean the paint so that it is not over the other traces as it possibly could be shorting out several traces at once. What happens if you try and boot the Xbox with the DVD drive and the Hard drive fully disconnected? You are really going to need a multimeter for any further testing. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  19. Hi archfranck What version Xbox are you working on now and what mod chip.? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  20. Some Xbox hard drive's are 10g and then you would see the extra 2g and the others are only 8g. You won't see G antil you fit a 137+g drive unless you use Xbox partitioner to make super small partitions. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  21. There is no option in the Evox program to flash the BIOS. I mean the EVtools. On the hexen disk there is a app called Xblast install and use that, Xblast will look for C:/bios folder if your flashing via HDD, Or you can flash via your network. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  22. You click unlock and the job is done. It's only Soft mods and the stock BIOS that needs the drive locked the other reason was Xbox Live would detect an unlocked drive and ban that Xbox from there system. With the mod chip fitted if your upgrading the hard drive you fit the new drive then load your install dvd(TruHexen,Slayers, etc etc) to set up the new drive. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  23. I have used Artic 5 Silver and Prolima PK-2 as well as liquid metalpads and didn't see any difference in CPU temps, I got a 2 deg celsius drop by painting the heat sink matt black. When you try and remove the GPU heat sink run the Xbox for 5 minutes 1st then gentle twisting. For the 80 way some thing like this and trim the round casing of works well. https://www.amazon.co.uk/equip-111425-UDMA-Drives-Round-Cable/dp/B00FLP3QC8/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?keywords=UDMA+80+way+ide&qid=1582505347&sr=8-1-fkmr1 The last 80 way cable I paid $2 for 3 at the shop run by the local rubbish tip. That also where I have got 75% of my Xbox's for $20 aud each or less. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  24. With a Mod chip/TSOP flash the Hard drive doesn't need to be locked. I run all my hard drives unlocked. And I use Filezilla to manage the files on the Xbox via FTP. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  25. The OGX 360 was designed by one of the forum members here. https://github.com/Ryzee119/ogx360 There is 2 versions the one like in the post above that can be made for up to 4 players or the one that I got from N64 freak also a forum member that's 2 player max. Just add a 8bitdo for a Xbox one controller. send Lukas N64 freak a PM Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
