If you are running XBMC-Emustation, I would do like @KaosEngineer said. Install the URLDownloader. After which you can download and install ports and homebrew games that are in the list for download.

yes, this works on windows 10, I have done this with all windows versions starting with xp all the way to the current windows 10. though i would not recommend filezilla for your FTP client, instead i would use FlashFXP

Yeah, not sure what causes it. honestly all my devices are back at dhcp, and i no longer have the issue. i myself thought it weird when it started happening to me. not even i could figure out why.

the ram upgrade is more for some of the homebrew games, that require 128 MB of ram. some games will actually run faster as in double time with the upgraded ram, and so the game has to be patched to properly run. that aside, its not really all that useful, only if you want to try to play some of the homebrew games. as for making my own modchip, no, i actually havent done that, not yet anyway. im in the process of making one as we speak utilizing the aladdin xblast svf file that was released. i know nothing about coding, let alone the ins and outs of an og, so making a chip from scratch with my own code is simply out of the question.

if you cant get FTP to work at all, you could burn them to CD or DVD and launch them that way

yeah, if you manage to get ftp to work even temporarily, ftp them into applications folder in F or G or even E, and launch it

not sure honestly. I've not really kept up with which ones were more popular, or up to date. From everything I read though, seems like unleash x is the popular dash these days, I myself use XBMC, there is also Avalaunch. and evox. any of those have an FTP server you could try with.

lol, I feel ya. Yeah, like I said, the only other thing I can think of is to clear the cache on the box. maybe even go as far as to reboot the router...

try deleting your cache. or maybe a different dash. not sure what else it could be, because if settings are correct when switching to static, then it should work...period. Even if the router is set to DHCP and the box to Static

I had this happen to me on more than just my OG, where my boxes were pulling bogus 10 net addresses from DHCP, and my router isnt even setup for 10 net IPs. If set to static, and everything set accordingly to match how my routers DHCP hands them out, and the IP is not already taken, I had no issues FTPing my OG or getting back online with any of my other boxes. I'd make sure you have your dns set to your router's gateway when setting to static. e.g. if your router hands out an address like 192.168.0.52, then this is what your settings should be: IP: 192.168.0.* // * being a number not taken by a device, between 2 and 254 Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.0.1 DNS1: 192.168.0.1 DNS2: 192.168.0.1 or blank Hope this helps.

I myself have 3 boxes, a 1.1 that is currently being refurbished and rebuilt, Have to get a DVD Drive for it, as well as a hard drive, I've got an Aladdin Xblast chip, that I made myself, that will be going into it. I've got a 1.4 that I am doing a ram upgrade on, it has been tsop'd with IND-BIOS and will have my X3 installed with LCD and Pro Switch, and I have a 1.6 that will have an Aladdin XBlast in it as well. The All of the boxes will soon get 2TB drives.

I am aware this is an old post. But thought I'd throw out some info. ToxicMedz is correct in saying that the CPLD needs to be flashed before a hotswap can take place. However, OP has already stated that the CPLD was flashed with the issue occured. @CleggorZ, If you are looking, or still need assistance with this. I have 4 Aladdin chips in stock with the 1MB flash chip installed already flashed with xblast, I just need to program the CPLD's. I can sell you one if you need it.

You can if one of the banks is flashed with tsop_m7. I speak from experience. Though you have to ground d0 and a15 to do it, and you need something like hexen in the disc drive to boot to.

Hello all. Just recently got into making my own Aladdin xblast chips. I've noticed a few people around here have been looking for them. Currently have 4 Aladdin chips in stock. The CPLD will be flashed with xblast by this weekend. Please bare with me, if I am out of stock, as my current job only pay's minimum wage, and it is quite difficult for me to purchase materials to make the Xblast chips. I am working to make some more soon. In the mean time, if you need one I'm selling.
