  1. Dear All, I would like to thank you very much for your responses. We have now succeeded by changing the IDE cable to an 80. And Use Saved Partition Table. Everthing is working now.

  2. C is ALLWAYS 500MB and E is ALLWAYS 5000MB and those values should not be touched in any case. The folders on E are just createt to avoid error massages in X4G when launiching it. And OFC C & E should also not be used for anything else like apps. For emus, ga,es and such use F,G. WHihc would you may could have guessed by reding the configs or by just finding the " Setup default folders on F/G/FG. (No need to move folders (But I know, yelling first is always the best option)). Maybe you should also think about the fact that the installer does not know how you like to set up your system. What should I do in case you just have a 8GB hdd which may isn't to far of in case you just came from stock XBox? AHHHH. I just limit the installer to 8TB with some dummy files next. In case the user has a smaller HDD, he could use a different disc.

  3. Before putting a new one on… please go over the board (front and back) for any solder balls or other that may be shorting out something a normal install shouldn’t cause a malfunction like that. Hate to see ya fry another chip

  4. I recently hopped into the Prometheos thread here with trouble getting my original Xenium chip updated. I searched all over the web and only found users with the same issue and not one shred of evidence on how to get passed this obstacle, until today. Being that Prometheos is new and most everyone doesn’t run into the xenium tools issue, there was no step by step guide on what to do otherwise. Embarrassingly, it was a fairly easy fix, but risky without having full confirmation and no success stories to go off of. It occurred to me to just rename the files so the old Xenium tools would see them, since it doesn’t allow you to choose your file. I didn’t write these files and do not know the full extent of what they do behind the curtain so I ruled that option out and continued my research in fear of making a brick. I also had other flashers in different folders with backups for each one. In the end, with @Harcroft holding my hand, we got it done. He assured me it was ok to delete all the other files completely and go ahead to rename the Prometheos.bin file to flash.bin (this is also not mentioned in the text files) and put it in the folder with the the old xenium tools. That’s the fix and I just made you read all of that when I could have just told you outright LOL. The previous versions apparently weren’t designed to work with the old Team Xodus chips and this is already being addressed To summarize, users using very old XOS versions (2.3.1>) were not able to use the newest versions of Xenium Tools. The modified tools is included in the download for Prometheus 2.0.1. Be sure to be running a bios from your Xenium and not your TSOP, otherwise even the new tools will not detect your chip. Also you must rename the Prometheos.bin file to “flash.bin” and have it in the same folder as your xenium tools. DO NOT create a backup of your chip before flashing. This will cause the program to flash what you just backed up. I think that’s pretty much it. The dev team will have a much more professional explanation.

  5. I think it worth making this clear in case other coming here make the same mistake of misunderstanding the XBPartitioner Xbox drive information:- STANDARD PARTITIONS Partition 1 = E:\drive Partition 2 = C:\drive Partition 3 = X:\drive Partition 4 = Y:\drive Partition 5 = Z:\drive X,Y, and Z drives are for temporary cached content, typically it will allow you to skip long intros in some games which otherwise take their time (re)writing it to X, Y or Z. They will be over-written by any other game that use X, Y or Z for that purpose so can not be used for anything else. Also be aware that XBMC and its variants will not show X, Y and Z in the file manager without enabling them each as a Source. EXTENDED PARTITIONS Partition 6 = F:\Drive Partition 7 = G:\drive Any other partitions listed are said to be for attached external storage. However, contrary to the wiki info, I have found neither official memory cards or <4GB USB flash drives display in XBPartitioner v1.3. That is not on any Xbox I've used to test such things. https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox:XBpartitioner Clarification about this, from those who know more, would be interesting and possibly useful.

  6. Only problem with ordering a TSOP chip like that is that it is likely to come blank unless it's been removed from an old xbox and if don't you have a programmer you'll have no way to flash it to see if it works. You'll also need a copy of an original MS bios or a modded bios of your choice to flash on to it. Since they are from a 1.0, any 1.0 or 1.1 1mb TSOP should work. I have a spare 1mb sharp at home on a 1.1 board but won't be there until the middle of next month to remove it. If you're still in need when I get there I'll remove it and send it to you.

  7. C7C4 as you can (could) see factory solder with no cap/resisor added. To keep it short. The Cap does not belong there! C7C4 is unpopulated!

  8. I beat you to it! Lol. It would’ve taken me longer to find usually but I had just pulled the psu out of it yesterday so I knew exactly where it was.

  9. I had a 1.0 laying around in a parts box. I took a pic of the area for comparison.

  10. I'll need to see if I have any v1.0 motherboards lying around to check if that same cap is missing on it or not. Not sure I'll get to it tonight.

  11. The few guides that were available for Prometheos upgrades were strictly for OpenXeniums, which most ppl had up to date. They overlooked older chips and potential for customers having them. They acknowledged the oversight by Implementing the TeamXodus chips with a different version on Xenium Tools. (EVERY OLD VERSION WONT WORK). They created two, new modified versions. With the new you can navigate to your file and choose it, but not two that the old ones. It only looks in the file that xenium tools is opened from. This is where my backups were already and the guides said to simply drag your Prometheos files into a folder. They weren’t as specific as they should’ve been. Once renaming the Prometheos files to flash.bin, erasing all old traces of thes files and recovery.bins, it was now able to see the flash and execute it. THIS STILL WILL NOT WORK WITH NEW XENIUM TOOLS, but it does detect the chip now. Ok I’m done retyping this over and over.

  13. Here's the M29 TSOP: https://www.ebay.com/itm/155509484752?hash=item2435166cd0:g:T6QAAOSw3IVkOWvs&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwHdPlaNBFjk%2FFXMj9cVGe0V8PRfnJbDpIwUmYBaYd2Xxcmigr2boHdYEPpB7fc9YVDNspgxNAXE4MWTDTqYxa67chOGCrQfmffpDr%2FrgcvmV8vm0DFnuUusW2nU1QLA7ZvPLHFu8pP%2F8wVjCu2ZBOJSeheRQcdFcj3N5aqr3ilMgOahs7ZS9fDUdWE%2Fcvs2NgXkDLDYxs%2Bc7mbo2vv46tFV5Q00U0D6lLVvZHfOjrIRL6EGxe%2BBxydWDsr0CT2Ea1Q%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR7LE9ruqYw I have one OpenXenium built and I can build another one for you tomorrow night if you are interested. Are you sure you can solder the TSOP? It requires a decent soldering iron, good flux and magnification is almost essential. It DOES require some soldering experience.

  15. The cap that I am seeing is a smaller size than the one under it. Like the size of C6D8. I am not SURE of this though as I cannot compare the sizes definitively. If you see that the loose cap is smaller look for a smaller cap like that on photos of 1.0 boards without components missing. See if you can find one of that size missing on the board. Some SMD cap spots are already empty on normal boards, so verify that too. Just to verify. You're saying the consoles were fine until you hooked up the modchip? That's the only thing I can blame is that something about the chip is causing a short. Is somebody with some electronics knowledge able to say whether there is enough power going to the LPC to cause a short like that on the TSOP? @KaosEngineer I still cannot imagine how a bunch of SMD components on that one board just ended up floating all over the place. Only think I can think of is that some dude got pissed and started raking a flathead across the surface of the PCB. @Dtomcat18 That's the best one. The vias are full and are perfect for that pogo adapter.

  16. It looks like the resistors came from R7D4 and R7D5. Don't want to assume because the picture doesn't show it but if I had to guess, the capacitor is probably from C7D2 giving it's location to the LPC.

  17. I was going to suggest that was it's location but since I'm at work and don't have a board here to verify it actually went there I didn't want to misleading. The second board he posted also don't have a cap in that spot so I'm not convinced that's where it came from unless both boards have the same missing components.

  18. Here's a simple command I used on my Windows desktop, to unpack everything into one large F partition, mounted as X: in FatXplorer. Hope it helps someone. open a command prompt window into the base folder you downloaded make sure you have 7z.exe in there (if not already setup in PATH to a different location) then type the following: for /r %a in (*.7z) do 7z.exe x "%~a" -o"X:\Games" Thank you so much! @nikeymikey for all your hard work and sharing with the community.

  19. Looks like C7D4 is missing. That piggyback rider probably goes there. And those two small resistors need to be put back where they go. Any other loose SMD components on the motherboard? ST M29F080T-90 Flash memory chip. The sticker on top covered all the manufacturer's labeling. ST M29F080A-90, Hyundai or Hynix HY29F080T-90 flash memory chips will work to replace the TSOP.

  20. There's a newer set available at back-ups.me Repackinator shortens the folder names to keep them within FATX spec.

  21. XBPartitioner v1.3. What's effed up with the partitions? Don't do anything other than take a picture of its main screen and post it in a reply. To exit the app, press Back followed by any button other than Start.

  22. I wish I had taken a before photo of the display. It was BAD. pincushioning and the image basically sucking in from the edges. Both dimensions of deflection were dying. But I will take DSLR pics of of the screen when running. Should be later tonight. Edit: looks like 2 capacitors did not ship until today, so I will not be able to finish until they arrive, probably in 5 days. Edit2: tomorrow. not 5 days!
