Hi guys, I just repaired traces A-D on a board with the FOCUS chipset. 2 of them were damaged with no continuity and the other 2 had damage but they still had continuity. I still did them anyway. When I tried to do E though, the spots indicated on the pics in this thread had no continuity but the E trace looks pristine. Also, there's a post indicating that E is incorrect and will ground. Do you have any link to the correct 'E' repair?

1.3 Has No Power, Potential Catastriphic Damage?

Which Delta PSU? Was it a drop in replacement or external? Thx -
Your hypothesis is correct. Here's the process, step-by-step: Burn a CD with Xblast and a dummy file. Cerbios BIOS (renamed to bios.bin) located in C:/Bios. Boot your Xbox with the CD inserted. Toggle the switch on your modchip to select the other bank. Initiate the flash process.

Judging from the screen I got in Xblast it'll only flash the current bank. So I'd need to physically flip the switch to bank 2, flash it and then see if everything works. That would be my guess at least. Bank 2 is currently unusable by me anyway, since it has a bios for 1.6 boards on it, while I have a 1.4. Any ideas are welcome though, since this chip is basically an antique and I can't really find much modern information on it.

The white button on the chip is used to select the bank. I'm not sure if you can flash Xblast to one bank and then flash the other bank from Xblast itself. I've always used a CD with the BIOS and a dummy file for flashing. Xblast is a newer tool, and it will adapt the BIOS size (from what I remember, these banks are 512KB). Back in the day, we had to run a .bat file on a PC to adapt the BIOS size

@KaosEngineer I'm unfamiliar with the Duo. Can he flash Xblast to bank 1 and use it to flash bank 2?

Which file are you using, exactly?

No problem, I actually removed the pin header that was there because the previous owner was soldering directly to them and I preferred to solder directly to the board. About the connections themselves, I followed the modxo diagram exactly, using new wires, good quality solder and flux as well, always checking the continuity. My guesses are that I'm doing something wrong when installing the files on the rpi or the lpc port is not receiving the proper signals because, when putting D0 to ground it tries to start through the port and can't complete the boot process.

Hmmm. Are you sure your wiring is correct? How confident are you that you can remove the solder from the LPC port and solder in a pin header?

I confirm the continuity of this point with the alternative under the board every time I change the installation. There is also no short with any of the nearby points...

I actually found an answer in this nifty YouTube video: So my plan: - Prepare HDD using FarExplorer on my PC. Hopefully this won't take ages, but USB connections are pretty slow. - Remove original HDD, DVD drive and flip switch to bank 2 of the X2 DUO. Since I have a 1.4 system I can flash bank 2 with Cerbios just fine. So if all else fails I flip it back to 1 and reinstall the original HDD. - Then I do some cleanup of the hardware, reinstall the DVD drive, install the new HDD. And flash the bios on bank 2 with Cerbios. I think this should be a solid plan.

This controller is multi volt - I use 5v and 12v strips - Pick your voltage, match your strip, solder from mobo 12v/5v/ point to controller vcc point, and 1 ground. Then the 3 points from controller to led strip, they are all labeled. Power, data, ground on strip and controller - these 3 are separate from the power n ground lines to power controller.

i had been using the modified m8 evo(i think that's what it is called) bios because there is just something about seeing that stock boot image that i love. i don't know how to describe it but, it just does something to me. i recently started using cerbios because i wanted to take full advantage of my 3tb drive. so how can i make cerbios have the stock boot flubber and sound?

So I wanted to flash Cerbios UDMA2 (256kb seemed like a safe option) to bank 2 of my Xecuter chip. I chose the Cerbios flash option, I saw the bios was being loaded unto my HDD. Then OGXbox Installer 2021 booted into Xblast OS. There I chose "HDD Flash" (because I suppose OGXbox Installer 2021 just prepared Cerbios in 'C:\BIOS\bios.bin'). But then I'm met with the screen shown in the attached image. How do I switch to bank 2 first? I don't want to write to bank 1 for now. As @dedmentioned earlier, I wanted to use bank 2 to test stuff out first. Does anyone have any ideas? When I turn on the Xbox by opening the DVD drive, it boots to the stock Microsoft dashboard.

I already have the alcohol handy. I could replace it, but I'm not sure it's going to be worth the effort. I ordered a SATA to USB, the IDE cable thingy and the converter. So in a week or two I should be ready to go. In the meantime I can have a look at flashing the bios.

Correct. The one with the blue mark. They are notorious for leaking electrolytic fluid on the boards and causing degradation to both components and traces on the mobo not to mention the mobo itself. You don’t really need it anymore so it can just be removed on the pre 1.6 revs like this. Be sure to clean the area with some 91-99 percent ipa after removal and remediate any leakage that has occurred on the top and underside of the motherboard.

I’d remove that clock cap or you can replace it if you want.

Thank you for the reply! I'd mainly use Cerbios because then I won't need to use Chimp or something to copy stuff over. My Xbox is a 1.4. So having EvoX M8 on the second bank won't really help. My idea would be to first flash bank 2 with an X2 bios. Then if that seems to work I can try Cerbios on bank 1. I believe I will always be able to boot from DVD, even if things go wrong. Is that correct?

Happens mate, I've rebuilt a shell 3 times here and certainly prefer homebuilt for main PC. I did a little synopsis for the Halo Alpha / beta stuff for my own drive and shared it in the OGX facebook file section if it helps.
