joshua_1543
When i plug in my xbox, it starts the boot up for 4-6 seconds with the green ring flashing, then the video and audio cut off and the ring stops flashing but it keeps running for about 2 seconds, then restarts. sometimes if i leave the power out for a while and plug it back in, it works. any help? SS_Dave
It could be damaged traces from a leaking clock cap or possibly the cap's near the heat sink. Best to open it up and have a look, If you are unsure post some images of the insides Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing. That is one clean-ass pic of a disturbingly unmodified xbox. I do NOT disagree! But can you throw us a bone? Is it tsop flashed or totally stock? Edit: i'm a jackass. My browser jumped to your last post and i thought that was the opener. I'm a tool. Yes, other side too, please. Also, it looks like the clock cap has leaked a bit. Check my edited post! Thanks for the info. I'll research a bit. I'm sure dave or kaos will drop some wisdom shortly. ..That pic IS disturbing though. NO xbox motherboard should look that stock in 2022. I look at it and I just wanna' fuckin' solder shit to it. Bowlsnapper
There's nothing that stands out to me. In fact, it looks pretty good. That clock capacitor should get pulled and the area around it inspected.

TWis3
It's still hard to make out for sure. Seek to around 11:40 in the video where he points out the corrosion to get an idea of what to look for. After that, see if you see anything similar along the edge in the area he was looking. I know for my board I couldn't pick out the corrosion in the pictures I took. Once I got it under good light and followed the traces along the edge, I could see a break clear as day. That's what i was going to suggest. Better light and from multiple sources/points, if possible. If you grab a meter an test the two spots ( blue and purple) in this pic they should test a close to 0ohm that will confirm a problem if they test open circuit. If they don't test 0 ohm then add a wire link( use wire wrap wire) Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
