Frag XBox With Dead Hdd?

Recommended Posts

How would you go about replacing a hdd in a dead xbox? mod chips? I've been looking for a tutorial but I can't find anything. Also, everything on the xbox seems to work, so but the hdd is just freaking out with sound, so I assume its the hdd 1.0 btw.

Yes, but unless you are proficient in soldering electronic components, I would practice on something first..

its not an easy install to rebuild lpc. some of us are fortunate to have a ton of mistakes behind us. alot of mistakes can be corrected, some cannot. destroying an xbox is always destroying an xbox. even a 10$ unit.... its one less functional xbox on this chunk of slag spinning around the sun

EEPROM reader to obtain the data needed to lock a new HDD set up with XboxHDM.  PC with IDE if you use XboxHDM v1.9 or 2.2a or USB-to-HDD interface adapter with XboxHDM23USB Beta 2.

Or, install a modchip, Aladdin XT plus 2 (aka XT 4032, etc) boot Hexen 2017 or 2018 to format the new HDD and install the dashboard to it.

Hey so I have a 1.0 and the main fan header isn't working. Can I just replace the mosfet or is there a greater issue?

      Hi everyone!
I have a 1.4 with trace issues, upon plugging in the power it starts automatically and when it's off, will occasionally boot at random.
I managed to repair one trace as a preventative but not the 3 needed to ensure it's not an issue anymore, I found them too hard to work on

I did the equivalent of the white wire and blue, is there another place to solder the other green/purple equivalent connections? It would be on the other side of the board I assume.
