ConsoleTechUS
My HDD on my main xbox is an old IDE from 2004 so I decided it was time for an upgrade to modern SATA WD Drive. Only problem is that it now doesn't fit in my case, despite it being large, due to the NES microcontrollers. I'm pretty sure that if I use this adaptor that I can get everything to fit in the case as I'm no longer extending the length of the HDD with my usual goto adaptor. I've tried googling around but everything I see mentions doing some sort of TSOP flash. Is there a way to skip the DVD check without doing a TSOP flash? HDShadow
Whatever you're talking about the one thing I can tell you for sure is that can't do a TSOP flash on a v1.6 Xbox as it doesn't have a TSOP. A WD SATA (HDD?) not fitting the Xbox case? You're going to have to explain (photos?) exactly what you're trying to do because none of this makes any sense to me.
L2000
To be able to have a nodvd bios on a 1.6 you will need a modchip and you will need to rebuild the LPC , as you already have the chip you can simply build a new bios using Cerbios tool and enable nodvd. BTW very impressive build , hope you figure out the wire routing for controllers and the HD adapter . HDShadow
Ah, I see we're talking about a custom case - now it makes more sense.
