Hey yall I have a hd44780 lcd And a arduino pro micro Wired to open xenium without spi2par board. It boots and lcd is on and the arduino is programmed. There is no characters and no control of backlight or contrast through any dash board. Has anyone installed lcd with pro micro and no spi2par board to open xenium? From what I understand on githubs ox lcd repository it can be done and I followed wiring instructions. Any help would be appreciated

This HDMI mod replaces the AV port completely and offers an HDMI port instead for convenience. The Installed HDMI mod does look like this: The HDMI mod does offer 5.1 sound through the HDMI port. If you don't need 5.1 (or your TV might not support it) you can simply disable 5.1 audio and get digital stereo audio instead. For those who want to add an optical output to there Xbox the HDMI mod does offer 3 solder points to add a TOTX178 optical transmitter. To get the HDMI mod installed you first need to get the AV-port removed. To get it removed you could either use a hot-air station or a heat-gun to remove it at once. But that would put a lot of thermal stress on the board! The better and recommended alternative is to disassemble the Port and remove it one part at a time. First desolder the Metal Tab holding it in place by heating them and prying the metal tab up to pull it out. When the metal tab is removed take a sidecutter and clip off all the pins from the video port as they are what keeps the Port in place. When they are clipped off you can take the port cover off by simply pulling it upwards. Next step is to remove the remaining plastic piece and desolder the rest of the pins and clean up the area a little. Position the first Adapter exactly as show in the photo. The red arrow marks the PTH that has to be alligned centered. Once Positioned solder all the marked points down and make sure they are properly connected before continuing with the second adapter! After soldering all the necessary points insulate the 2 soler points shown in green. A piece of kapton tape works well. You should do this to be sure there's no unwanted connection occuring between the 2 adapter pcbs. Next up is the second adapter. Just position it above the first adapter using the 2 big holes to allign them and solder down the marked points. Again check continuity before continuing with the next PCB! Last PCB is the HDMI mod itself. You need to position it slightly off centered on the second PCB. The HDMI ports pins will be position it correctly. Just solder down the points that are marked with the red arrows and the install is almos done! Last up is setting the Video mode. You need to add 2 small bridges on the bottom side of the PCB. Just solder in the 2 bridges and the video mode is set correctly! If you want to use the optical out you can easily add a toslink port to the HDMI mod by simply soldering a Transmitter to the 3 marked pins.

Just a random question can I wire spi2par and arduino to 2 lcds at same time? Just like daisy chain from spi2par to first lcd then connect those wires to another lcd?

I'm trying to install the debug dashboard on a Rocky5 softmodded Xbox (v1.2). Getting a black screen, probably because of the ShadowC that Rocky5 uses. I've tried copying the debug dash files to the real C drive but it seems that I've run out of space. The shadow C file is around 500MB so there's hardly anything left. Should I just delete the shadow file? Or will that brick it? If I keep a backup can I somehow restore it if I brick it? P.S. I've replaced the original HDD with a 1TB drive (using a SATA adapter). I did not null the key but I gave a backup of the password.

Hello everyone First wanted to say thanks to this forum, I have gathered alot of useful info here. Now onto my dilemma. I have two OG XBoxes one is mine from when I was a kid and softmodded way back when. It is still softmodded, however after lightning struck our house, the network port hasn't worked in over 10 years. This is a version 1.4. So I was ecstatic when I found a second OG XBox with controllers and a bunch of games a couple years ago for $20 at a rummage sale. This is a version 1.2 I removed the clock capacitor from both of them before they could do any damage and confirmed both to be working after doing so. Recently I decided I wanted to mod the new XBox and bought a Xenium Nemesis Modchip. I got everything soldered into place pretty easily, and went to boot it up and to my horror got the start three times then flash red/green with no video output. I went back and double checked my solder points, everything looked good, then I saw it.....somehow a large solder splash landed on the R7T2, R7T3, R7T4 resistors. Hoping for the best I removed the solder splash (it wasn't fully attached) and ensured the resistors were still soldered to the board. Tried booting up again...same behavior. And my journey began.... To keep things clear and concise....here is a list of everything else I tried with no change in behavior. Tried with and without the modchip Removed the d0 wire and modchip Reflowed the modchip lpc connector Installed the modchip into my old XBox, quadruple checking for splashes, and it works just fine and boots into PrometheOS Scoured the board for any bad traces or fried/missing chips, additional splashes, none found. Cleaned entire board with rubbing alcohol Used compressed air to blow off board. Swapped power supplies, both work on good board Checked the LPC pin voltages, everything matched the below page except pins 5 and 10 read 0 volts, not sure if that's because it's FRAGing or not. https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index.php?/topic/239-lpc-diagnostics-v01/#comment-945 Followed the traces from the LPC pins to their respective points using the baldbouncer image on the above page and they all check out to no resistance Compared the resistances between the new(bad) board and the old(good) board and they match for those three resistors. R7T2=1.8k, R7T3=5.3k, R7T4=4.7k Replaced the 6 CPU capacitors using the kit from Console5 Reapplied thermal paste to CPU and GPU Use hair dryer to warm up the board (saw in a youtube video it helped with some bad capacitors) Here is a link to an album with several close up pics of the motherboard: https://photos.app.goo.gl/GbRpT2M8hbqE2grm7 So my ask is, is there anything else anyone can think of, or do you see anything of concern in the pictures that I could look into? Ultimately I would just love to have a modded XBox with a working network card, so I might have to just give up on this board and keep looking for another. Thank you for reading my novel!

Came across this on another Xbox forum: guy tried to softmod with Rocky5's XBSMT using AUF. Installer worked to a point but at the stage where you're meant to reboot, eject the game disc and the softmod install completes he forgot to eject the AUF disc, it booted and the softmod did not complete. Result blank screen and from the sound of it the Xbox is still effectively in retail state but now without the retail MS dashboard. It cold boots original game discs including AUF but running the exploit again just reboots the console and the game reloads. It apparently won't cold boot burned discs, getting that confirmed just to be sure, but it means he can't use Rocky5's Xtras disc or any other recovery disc. The poster also said he tried to run a dash-updater afterwards to restore the original MS dash but 'it did not work'. I'm skeptical about that and am concerned it might have added another level of complexity to the problem. Likely no eeprom backup available but, again, that has to be confirmed. What to do? My thought in the absence of other better advice is to delete the AUF game saves and try with SC or MechAssault or TH4 but I know from my own experience that re-softmodding like that does not always work, the games have a tendency to reboot rather that launch the installer.

UPDATED link to the new 3.2 version. Includes everything from the XBMC4Gamers downloader before 25/09/24 UPDATE 26/09/24 Link has been updated again and includes the latest files inc the fixes for the manual installer. I have seen a few people having issues with downloading the Artwork Installer so I went ahead and grabbed the latest version, along with the Preview Videos and 128mb Fanart and have uploaded the whole thing to share here. Xbox Artwork Installer 3.2.7z Just FTP to your console and run the xbe. Choose in the options if you wish to install the 128mb Art and/or the Preview Videos or not. Now includes my artwork from the custom art thread here at OGX @Rocky5 I hope this is ok to share here, if not then please let me know and I will remove it immediately.

Hi everyone, I recently purchased my xbox OG, I opened it, cleaned it and replaced the thermal paste. The xbox reads burned games and I noticed it probably has a modchip and a single cable soldered to the motherboard. I would like to ask you kindly, which chip is this exactly? I would like to replace the hard disk with a larger one, since it still has the original one and I would like to be able to play games directly from it, to safeguard the DVD player (a Samsung). How can I proceed? Is it possible to install a bios mod and a dash mod? My xbox still has the original Microsoft dashboard. I thank everyone and apologize for my bad English Link to image gallery https://postimg.cc/gallery/cSfvKk9

Hello! New to the forum, and completely new to xbox modding. I have made a BIG misstake, an destroyed the VIA for the LAD0 that is next to the resistor R7P4 on the QSB. Solder wont stick to it and now i cant install the QSB. Is there any chance to save this? Any other point on the board where i can solder a wire to and connect to the QSB? I did some searching and found a post in this thread There looks like there are two VIA's on the side where the QSB goes? Or possibly to the leg on the chip and route a wire to the other side and connect it? Or am i just simply screwed? Thanks for any help and suggestions in advance!

Is it possible to have XeniumRGB and a SPI2Par installed at the same time with OpenXenium; there's only one JST port on the chip.

Hello there, I have an old OGXbox rev 1.0 with a homemade modchip with an executer bios (don't know which version as of yet) and the EvolutionX dashboard on a 120GB PATA HDD. I'm gonna put in a new SSD instead, and reinstall everything and possibly flash another custom bios. My question is, which installation disc is most recommended to use? I have HeXen 2018, TruHeXen 2021/2024, OGXbox 1.5.4, 1.9.3, 2.3.2, SlaYers 3.5 etc... And which custom bios is recommended to use? Best regards

Soooooooo I started to attempt the 128mb ram mod myself today. I was using a mix of soldering iron and hot air but after painstakingly getting the first chip lined up perfectly, then soldered on, TWICE and then both times it ending up ever so slightly out of line.... I BOTTLED IT, removed the chip, cleaned up and put away all the equipment. I clearly don't have the patience or a steady enough hand to do this mod I am now looking for anyone in the UK who can do this mod for me. I will happily pay for the service. Its a 1.4 console. So no stacking needed. Anyone out there who can be my saviour???

I've installed MakeMHz HD+ to a 1.0 motherboard. Picture looks great, but I'm not getting any sound. The HD+ accesses SPDIF directly from the AV port, so this isn't a ribbon cable issue. The SPDIF pad has continuity with the chip on the HD+ board. The trace isn't broken on the motherboard. Any ideas?

So I hadn’t done this mod before and figured Id send it. Unfortunately I set a chip kinda off center and when I tried to fix it just created more issues for myself. I sadly damaged one of the legs pads on the chip next to the power by the CPU caps. The system kinda try’s to power on but it is only by slight fan movement over the heatsink (it’s a v1.1) then it turns off. It was doing this prior so it’s not acting worse. I plan to go back and look for solder splashes/bridging. Im worried though that the damaged caused will prevent it from ever working even if I do fix and potential bridges. I stepped away for the night to get fresh eyes later. However I’m concerned I might require professional help haha

Hi everyone, first post here. I've tried researching this myself but i'm struggling with a few aspects. This is my first attempt at trying anything hard or soft mod related. I have a stock 1.6 xbox which i have installed an old duo x2 modchip in that i took out of a non-working xbox i bought. I believe i have soldered it in correctly as it starts up with the evox logo and goes to the standard xbox dashboard. I have purchased: A 2tb sata hdd Startech IDE to SATA adapter An 80 wire IDE cable 1. Should i try and flash the bios of the modchip to something new like cerbios now or leave this until after i have installed the new hard drive? If so, is there a good guide for this? All the resources i can find are softmod methods 2. How do i go about installing the new hard drive setup? Do i need to format it using my pc first or am i able to connect it straight to the xbox and set it up via an ethernet connection to my pc? I= 3. When it comes to software, i'm a little unsure about why there are so many dashboard options? Once again, i can only find softmod videos on the internet about setting up rocky5 xbmc4gamers etc and i don't have the ability to burn discs to do these methods. I do have a usb adapter and a compatible usb drive though. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had a little trouble figuring this out, so i figured i would write this up. 1) install XBMC4GAMERS 2) launch it and setup your profile 3) go to settings, the downloader 4) update/install URL downloader (this is auto) 5) go to artwork 6) install XBOX artwork installer 7) when asking where to install it, install it into E:\apps\ 8. Use the left arrow to switch from games to applications 9) Run xbox artwork installer 10) Reboot and your artwork should be there. Give it some time as it caches everything.

Hi everyone, new to the scene and the OG Xbox in general (had a 360 and One for many years). Bought an OG Xbox a few years ago for cheap to play some og Xbox exclusive games that are either not backwards compatible or are buggy on the 360's software emulation. I got as far as softmodding it to Rocky's v1.1.6 (this was in end of 2019 when I did this). Then I burnt the extras disc and my Xbox wouldn't read it. Then left the Xbox as is and did some other hobbies and life happened and put the Xbox in a closet for four years. Recently pulled it out and want to continue where I left off. My main goal is to upgrade the HDD to copy my games to the hard drive and play off it. To do this I need the extras disc to get Chimp onto my xbox. My Samsung drive, while sometimes is reluctant to eject the disc unless there is a disc inside, reads the games just fine. However when I burn the extras disc using Img burn (4x speed is the lowest I can go), using either the iso from Rocky's GitHub or the "Build XISO"bat file, nothing seems to work. So discs I tried where Staples CD-RW and Staples DVD-RW. Both of these where pretty scratches. So then I tried three times with Verbatim CD-Rs, flawless discs brand new no scratches, the Xbox still will not read the disc. Again, it's the Samsung Drive so it should be able to read CD-R. My next step is to buy a Verbatim DVD-R, Staples has a pack of 5 for $5.99. If that doesn't work the only way to do it would be I guess to FTP. Was wondering if a USB would work as well. Lost the generic 4gb 2.0.usb I used four years ago to softmod but ordered another one from eBay should arrive within a couple of weeks. But why is the extras disc giving me so much trouble? Can anyone chime in what I could be doing wrong? I also forgot to mention, I have a 1.6 Xbox produced in May 2005, TSOP is not an option, and I am not confident in my soldering abilities to install a mod chip hence the softmod.

Hi all, I have recently acquired a hardmodded crystal 1.6 box from a popular online auction website, which has with a 200gb hdd. I opened it up and gave it a good lean as it was pretty disgusting! Literally spiders inside. It has an Aladdin XT hardmod, I don’t know when it was installed. Current dash is EvolutionX V+3935. I had a good poke around in EvoX settings, it states that it has unknown BIOS. Says the same in Xbox BIOS checker 5.0. I can’t see anywhere to backup EEPROM (I read that this is important) – do I need to do this? There are no options that I can find in EvoX that will allow me to backup. There are various apps, including XBMC, Avalaunch, etc. Should I just delete them? If so, how? The app ‘Xenium’ when loaded states “You have a Cloned Fake Xenium” – what does this mean? I assume that the BIOS is out of date and so is the dash. I read that UnleashX and Xbox4Gamers is the best combo to have. How can I update to these please? Thanks in advance all!

Hi There, I just happened to come across an Xbox with an xecuter 3 mod chip with LCD on a second hand website. Bought this and continues to work. So now it still has the standard hard drive in it. I wanted to replace this with a hard drive that is in my other hardmodded Xbox. (This is the well-known Origin 2TB disc) When I put this in, it does not boot any further and I end up on the X3 modschip screen. When I FTP to the original hard drive I find it strange that it uses the C D E. Furthermore, I think this is one of the first Xectuer 3 mod chips because it also contains a very old version of XBMC. Any idea what I will be able to do?

Good evening, I have a 1.6b xbox, it is currently softmodded (this was done about 12 years ago) and the disk drive died on me to the point where the xbox wont boot to the dashboard (error code 12), anyway I read that since this is a 1.6b motherboard a TSOP flash is out of the question. I purchased a open xenium mod chip and performed the installation. Currently when the xbox is powered off but plugged in the mod chip emits a bright white light. This is after rechecking my joints due to having a bright red light. Im not sure which one of those is good or not. Anyway when I attempt to turn on the console with just the power and video cables and fan plugged in, no controller port cables plugged into the mb and no hard drive/disk drive, the mod chip emits a slightly less intense red light and the LED on the front of the xbox starts of green then flashes orange, fan spins up, then everything goes back to a powered down state and the white light returns. This is when powering on with the eject button btw. If I take the chip off the pin header, the xbox boots to the splash screen then ofc does nothing because there is no hard drive or disk drive. edit: forgot to mention I took a multimeter in continuity mode and the pins and points on the board are all connected as they should be, and I do have a picture of the chip itself but it currently is failing to upload here, ill try to do what I can in that regard Any guidance would be appreciated, attached are some photos of my amateur soldering work.

I have the Xerc 2 from Nemesis and I have a 1.0 I'm putting it in. I'm just wondering what the motherboard pinout is and what all is necessary. I found a video for the 2.0 xerc Install, but I need to know the 1.0 power pinout to hook it up. I cannot find install instructions for the xenium version at ALL. I actually found it in the video, but I have no idea which wires coming from the IR molex are IRD, IR- and IR+. There's red, white and black. wires pluggin into the IR module. Also... aren't I missing the HDD activity wire? Isn't that what the blue LED is? Also, there's only one SL contact on the xerc, but the wiring diagram mentions SL green and SL red. WTF? @NeMesiS Edit: I think I'm being stupid and need to use common sense. IR + should be red, IR- should be black, and IRD, logically since it's the only one left, should be white. Wow. Still need to figure out the SL wiring thing, though. Edit: After I ended up making multiple retarded posts, Nemesis was kind enough to point me in the right direction. Couldn't find it with a search engine. https://www.emuxtras.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=187&t=6786&start=170

Hi all, just finished a cerbios build for a friend. It’s a 1.2 with a 4TB drive. I’m finding that every so often the system will freeze. When I reboot the system, I’ll just have a black screen or sometimes black screen with a sporadic blink of an image onscreen. Then I’ll get a quick green flash on the eject light. Does anyone know what a flashing green light might mean?

Hello, I have a chipped Xbox with all the goodies: FTP access, 2TB hard drive, XBOX4gamers as default, etc... I'm the original owner and I never connected it to Xbox Live! I would like to connect it to Insignia but I believe that my dashboard needs an update... My dashboard version is 4817 How can I install V2 Xbox Live for Insignia? I already have an Insignia registration! THANK YOU! and have a good weekend! Also, my XBOX4gamers version is 1.2.122 and I can FTP to it but when I click the URL downloader updater is says no network access but I'm sure that it's connected to the internet! I just want to update the game trainers! any way to do that manually? Thanks again!
