  1. Is it possible, somehow, force Xbox to display 720p/1080i video resolution without changing the region of it? Is it safe to force it?
  2. I've been a casual user/lurker in the Xbox scene since 2003 probably. I've just joined to browse the forums here for any good skins, dashboards, emulator front ends.
  3. I'm looking for an Xbox arcade stick
  4. Hello, does anybody have a part number for 12 pin 2 row male header for yellow cable connection ? Many years ago, I followed a tutorial thread that had a part number, but could not find it. Regards, David
  5. Hello World Let's discuss about Linux on Xbox Original, and what is it good for? I've read people use it to browse the internet and even watch Youtube throught a special distributive of Mozilla. Can anyone confirm launching Linux ports of Windows games on XDSL, and which ones? Counter Strike port for Linux would be awesome, never tried that, but found a port of 1.4 or 1.5 on the web. Maybe anyone kept a website on Xbox, by using it as server? What I was most impressed of, is the posibility of running a cluster of Xbox-es, tried that few years ago, but the update links for that distro were all dead, hope somebody has an image of a Linux distributive with everything set up or maybe can point on how to fully install everything in 2018. Do I understand correctly. that the cluster's power is all node's powers summarized, for example as the picture shows , is 12 x 733 mhz = 8796mhz? http://www.bgfax.com/xbox/home.html https://www.anandtech.com/show/1539/8 http://www.xl-cluster.org/index.php
  6. Took me 2 days to get all the wiring right. for the wii2hdmi for og xbox modd ... using a wii2hdmi device ordered off eBay you can also find an Alibaba and other places like this. Very inexpensive around 5 Canadian dollars. You're also going to need some sort of a donor Xbox RCA wires or component wires in order to pull this off. There is 11 connections total five of which are ground I do not suggest not adding all the ground cuz could cause interference. Had pretty good luck I made to both of them are crystal clear with no interference. I tested on version 1.0 as well as version 1.4 turned out very good. I tried to look up and down online for some sort of schematic nothing appeared. There was one picture that was in Spanish but it was misleading I tried to look into it to find out who the original inventor was found the person at XB Classics a Brazilian site. After conversating with him he told me that he had better pictures but he would not share. Then I noticed a site that they has linked where they were selling these to the equivalent of 40 US dollars a piece so that is the reason the images that they uploaded are just there to confuse people. So that they cannot make it. Does not include audio left or right. And apparently La stands for 5 V? Don't ask me but that's what the guy told me makes no sense at all. I spent two days getting the wiring correct. I documented everything and put it on a YouTube video (link2come) was trying to figure out the best way to make this readily available for everybody in the world any Xbox Enthusiast should have a low cost HDMI adapter solution available to them this is where these schematics come in. Again I didn't notice any interference at all. Just a little bit in the Bios when only running 480 but there's not much you can do unless you re Flash the BIOS to force. I've noticed people in the group posting pictures not even having soldering skills and getting very good results from this method. In theory you can use this exact same adapter in order to have an internal HDMI solution. These images are water marked because these are going to be the only good images that are online and I seen the way XB classic does their water mark and it really bugs me that they did that so I wanted to make sure that everyone knows where it came from. That being said I'm Mister James Reid really helped me out with this he volunteered his services in order to take my hard copy drawings that were on paper and make it look something presentable. Which he did and he did a great job thank you very much James I did in fact alter the images to have the watermark across them. Sorry about that but I figured since I put in the work I deserve to have my name on it. If you have any questions please do not hesitate I do not check this site every day but I do come in from time to time. Thanks again and I hope people online can use this receive money from the big corporations like pounds and hyperkin charging ridiculous amounts of money for something so cheap... I've also got a lot of questions recently about people asking if this is any better than component. It uses the component wires in order to transfer the signal into HDMI. I'm not too technical with that end but when looking up the chip number on the actual board for the Wii to HDMI adapter I did notice in there schematics and their breakdown for the actual board they did mention that the video board that does the decoding actually does video on hand splint what kind of video enhancement I have no idea. But it should be an enhancement over component if they are speaking the truth. Anyway gentleman without further delay here are the schematics. I hope this hope somebody somewhere. Thank you very much Frank
  7. Hey guys, i' got this 1.6 PSU that seems to be turning the 12v line OFF after some time until it stops feeding it at all. The PSU was burned and repaired by other than me. It seems to be working perfectly, as i made a jumper from the 12v capacitor and it does indeed boot and work for hours, so it must be some component that's responsible for turning off the 12v line on it that is shorted or not operating properly. The thing is, i can't see any damaged component. All the other lines do work and the power button does seem to function. I've been trying to track what component turns off the 12v line when i turn off the console, but to do that i'd need a spare 1.6 PSU which i don't have at the moment. It's a Delta PSU by the way. I've made another post on this forum about the issue but it was in the wrong section. Also i didn't had a clue about what was making the PSU turn off until i found it was the 12v line.
  8. Looking to sell my X3CP xbox. It's a 1.6 with a 2tb hdd and startech sata to IDE adapter with 80 wire IDE cable. The hdd isn't a fully loaded one, it allows you to put the content on that you want but does have xbmc4gamers front end and a few games/emulators on there. The Xerc 2 XE allows you to turn the console on/off via the official dvd remote and also fades the eject button LED's on and off when in standby. No controllers included, but I can include a dvd remote if required (albeit with out battery cover) Video of the actual xbox here: £350 plus postage from the UK. Postage will depend where you are obviously. PM for more info
  9. Hello everyone, first off all, excuse for my English as I am Brazilian I just got an Og Xbox 1.0 with Xecuter2 and I'm still learning a lot about this beauty but I have a problem and maybe someone here can help me. I was browsing the forum but found nothing on this specific matter. The Xbox works fine except for one thing: the controller keeps disconnecting. It came with some 3rd party controllers and an adapter for PS2 controllers, so no original controller for me. The funny thing is that when it disconnects I only can make it work again when I wrap the cable around the controller and make my way unpluging and pluging it back. Someone told me that it could be caused by a faulty cable on the controllers but I checked the cables with a multimeter and they appear to work fine. The PS2 adapter sometimes work and sometimes do not work, but the LED on the adapter is always on. I also disassembled the box for cleaning and to take off the clock capacitor (that was leaked btw), time when I also checked the daughterboard to see if it was faulty, and it was not. Given the situation, I can only think of two options: 1. the 3rd party controllers and adapter are really crappy and don't work fine with the console and I should get an original controller; or 2. my daughterboard is defective and should be replaced. I don't think there's a software problem here but since all things related to Og Xbox are completely new to me, I can be wrong. Anyways, the help I want/need is to try to find a way to discover the problem since Og Xbox parts or controllers are really not easy or cheap to find in Brazil... Cheers
  10. i recently obtained a broken xbox and i'm having 2 weird problems with it. (not the weird part)1st off, the power supply had a bad solder joint that i fixed so now the system powers on. (weird parts) 1. there is no picture on the tv screen at all even though the the eject button light turns solid green telling me that it detects the a/v cable. it flashes green/orange when the a/v cable is unplugged. but there is absolutely no change on the tv screen. 2. the disk drive does not eject even though i can take the top off of the drive and see the spindle turn and the laser move reacting to me pressing the eject button. i know a stuck dvd drive tray isn't uncommon on these system but i have tried 2 different drives in it that eject fine in another xbox. the only change i have made to the mobo is that i removed the clock cap which appeared to not even have leaked onto the mobo yet(i did this before testing the xbox which i wish i wouldn't have). the system also has mild rust on the tray underneath the mobo which suggest it's had moisture in it(even the dvd laser has rust on the metal around the laser lens). btw, it's a version 1.0 xbox. any idea what the heck is wrong with it? thanks for any advice.
  11. My only controller died, and I've been in need of a replacement, but eBay's often awful shipping prices have made my choices limited in that I either spend on a "knockoff" that might be questionable in quality, or spend quite a bit more on an OGX360 kit. Would be looking for an original Xbox controller here to ship to Canada. I'll accept any of the colours, though Blue is the most preferred. Please contact with price offers. Thanks!
  12. Hi,have another xbox 1.4 no modchip no softmod no tsop flashing, DVD is Philips and HDD Seagate, when turn on the xbox red ring lithing any solutions? Desolder a clock capacitor.
  13. If no one had seen this yet, just yesterday Modern Vintage Gamer released a game called FreeFall 3050AD for the OG Xbox, which he helped finishing after 15 years being lost! The links to the game are in the Youtube video below! This is really wonderful
  14. Hi, bought the XBox 360 along time ago, not just for me but for my 2 new kids ... both boys. It was supplanted by a wonderful and powerful PC. But, now it is back on and the games still seem great. So, I have a new found desire to get the most out of this console. Glad I found this forum and hoping to learn from you all. Will contribute where I can. To start though - one of our discs is playing up and I just wondered what is the best approach apart from trying to polish the scratches out of the surface.??? My initial thoughts are to install a program to copy the disk to hdd. This should make it a little faster to load and more reliable for normal use. I see a progam called dvd2xbox was available but don't know if this is the best and only choice. Any advice will appreciated. Thanks to those who made this forum available and all members... Brett
  15. Hi people, i bought an softmoded OG Xbox a couple of months ago with an 80GB Ide hard drive. I wasn't able to use it because i needed to get an Voltage converter (v220 to v110, 300W) and i wasn't able to test it untill now. During that time i replaced the thermal paste following some tutorials and cleaned the upper case. Now that i have the converter the console won't turn on. It doesn't make any noise. I checked the capacitors and all of them seem to be alright (Flat on the top and no leaking) and i tried with a different power cable and nothing. Thanks for your time. Here are some pics of the console. https://imgur.com/a/3XkDNpe https://imgur.com/a/h9GBXQS
  16. Hi All, Thank you for creating a fine forum. I had the original xbox when it was new-ish, but I traded it and all my games to gamestop for 2 360 games. bum deal. Anyway, I have an xbox again along with many other consoles from my youth. The hdd sounds like it's from a 20 year old computer(which it kind of is) and the optical drive is on its way out. I'm glad to find these are taken care with relatively painless software type mods on the Xbox. I did the Rocky5 softmod and then I did the hexen disc to EvoX 8+, but I'm having two issues that don't seem common. 1. after the tsop flash, the .wav sound files have disappeared I can't seem to add them back with the hexen disc or the Rocky5 extras disc. 2. I'm having issues with ftp programs not liking the directory structure and I can't drill down or transfer, only just connect I have a 1.0 xbox and I flashed the 256kb version of evox. Can I redo all of this with a bigger version and just start over? I'm not sure what went wrong or which forum that can help with this.
  17. Hi all, Long time modder and lurker, first time poster but I wanted to share a project I have been working on the last couple months. It is a small PCB which allows you to use Wireless Xbox 360 controllers (via the Xbox 360 USB Wireless Receiver) on an OG Xbox console. The design is loosely based on another similar project I did for the Nintendo 64 console https://imgur.com/gallery/HVLea3d Following the release of this board another forum user sent me an email asking if this device could be adapted for the OG Xbox, and funnily enough that was the next thing I was going to attempt! I wanted to support the following features atleast: Up to four players with rumble support. 100% USB Bus Powered so no external power supply needed. Fast bootup time, so it's up and running in time for the OG Xbox. Low input lag. As always, this is a hard thing to measure, however I can say that an OG Xbox controller is polled by the console every 4ms or so. My software gathers all the Xbox 360 wireless controller data, collates it and generates all the HID reports every 4 ms aswell. It's possible an input may miss this 4ms window, so would happen in the next 4ms window. As you probably know, an OG Xbox controller is basically a USB HID device, however it has some custom requests and other slight differences, meaning that it doesn't work on a Windows machine without a custom driver, and conversely a generic HID controller will not work in an OG Xbox so there was some work in getting a reliable and compatible solution working. To support four controllers, it is necessary to have 4x Full USB device controllers. However I imagine most people would rarely play with 4 people at once so my design is modular meaning you can support anywhere from one up to 4 players as required to keep cost down. This is a link to the github repo with what I came up with https://github.com/Ryzee119/ogx360 A link to my etsy store where you can buy one pre-assembled https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/672315615/ogx360-add-wireless-xbox-360-controller Cheers!
  18. Hi everyone, I'm a new user, have xbox I don't know what version it is, modchip is Aladdin XT with bios M8plus, but a strange thing happens when I turn on the console by holding down the power button 2 seconds it turns on but when I start any game via the evox 3935 dashboard gets stuck on the loading screen, the chip appears to be deactivated....the power button turns green..after 5 seconds it is power on.

  20. Hello all... I've been researching this issue for over a week and can't find a solution so hoping you all can help. I bought this modded xbox about 15 years ago with the games already backed up on HDD. I've added a bunch of pics of the screens. 1- why is the default xecuter2 (or is it evoX?) main menu screen so ugly and inefficient? it takes up to 3 clicks to actually get to games. Could you point me to tutorials on how to customize this? 2- when i looked up tutorials on how to ftp and finally figured it out, it looks like i have folders (partitions??) C, E, and F with files loaded. E only has ~4GB capacity, and F has about 60GB. But I'm reading that actually F and G should have large capacities. Should G be able to hold games or files? Currently G is empty. 3- I've made 6 coasters so far trying to burn ISOs to play from the Disc drive. Nothing seems to be working because the xbox doesn't recognize the discs at all. Normal xbox discs and DVD movies play perfectly. Burned ISO images on DVD-R do not work. Any ideas?? I'm using ImgBurn and extract-XISO at 4x speed with DVD-Rs.
  21. Hey guys, I'm trying to find the problem of this Delta psu, it's a us 110v psu. I turn it on, and after some time the console turns off. If I try to turn it on again, it does, but it turns off in a shorter time. It goes like this until it doesn't turn on anymore. If I unplug it and wait some time, it goes back to working until it decides to turn off again. I've checked all caps and all seems to be in working condition. This psu has been repaired before by someone else before I got my hands on it, the fuse has been replaced and the old varistor left some black fumes around it. There isn't any visible damage on the components. Any tips? I just noticed I created the thread in the wrong section. Sorry about that
  22. the compound used is sorta like a rubber, under heat it softens. like ps2 rubber pad, but more advanced and more efficient. same for cpu.
  23. Hi. I just took out my old crystal xbox with xecuter 3 chip, so I can show my kids how it was for me, and see what has changed in the game-scene Sadly I keep getting the 07 HDD error, so I am going to install a new drive. Just popped in here, so I can figure out how to do it
  24. Hi just got the xbox original running again. Forgot about TSOP and all that stuff. Will need to update and upgrade it to a larger HDD. Thanks and will look into it now on this nice forum!
