About Me

  1. This is happening on a stock console btw, I've read that the Microsoft logo appearing indicates an XBE has been found to launch so it's more likely to be something besides the HDD, there's no error code or change in LED color. I could put a chip in it and see what happens but maybe someone else who's seen this before could share their experience and save me some time.
  2. Hi, I have a 1.1 xbox with cerbios 2.0.3R, a seagate barracuda 2tb hdd, startech adapter and 80 wire cable from amazon. The problem is that the optical drive works only if cold booted with a disk in. After that I can swap disks without problems and everything is working. If I cold boot without a disk in, and I insert it after a dash has booted after checking the disk the dvd status become Busy (XBMC) or unknown (unleashX). Same for games or audiocd. The only quirk is that if I coldboot with an audiocd and swap for a game, the xbox still see the disk as an audiocd. I also tried m8+ and it's the same. Interesting is that if I set cerbios without the nodvd patch it can't find the dvd drive and frag but if I cold boot with a disk in, it finds the drive and boot as normal. Where could be the problem? Thanks
  3. Hey folks It has been some time since I last posted. Hope you're doing well... What have you been up to? I recently preordered the new version of the HDMI+ mod from MakeMhz which will arrive in july and i wanted to upgrade one of my my existing xboxes with it. Since I'm going to solder anyway and i got some RAM chips laying around, i thought about upgrading the RAM as well. In this regard, i was wondering if there is a BIOS that supports both (HDMI and 128MB RAM). Is the MakeMHz-BIOS taking advantage of 128MB RAM? Does somebody have some experince with this? Thanks in advance for you thoughts! Greetings Bot
  4. Hi. I just got a second xbox classic, but with the problem that it's missing the hard drive. It's hard-moded with xc-changer chip. I have some knowlage, but still need some help. My plan is to first backup the eeprom using rpi or arduino (i have both). After that I have to find a compatible hdd (or maybe ssd). And at the end I have to use the eeprom backup to change the hdd key using a pc (forgot the name of the program). Correct me if i'm wrong. I appreciate your help.
  5. I've placed all the files properly and set jumpers correctly. BFM loading seems to happen and then blank screen. I'm using a Pound HDMI adapter. Do I need to buy composite cables? I've read that that is probably the reason for my present misfortune. Anybody have luck running with HDMI? As a side note, ANY time a BFM is loaded on my machine, my partition table is ERASED. It's kinda freaking me out. I keep having to boot with my X3 bios, run XBPartitioner, write the table, and then Cerbios will see F:. Any idea why BFMs keep wiping out my table? ISO loaders do the same thing.
  6. A few of us at Steel Battalion Online OG Xbox community have put something together just in time for Insignia's beta launch. A relatively simple & cheap method to use modern gaming headsets with the OG Xbox Voice Chat Comm's. No hard mods necessary just a couple adapters from Amazon and you will be Golden. We've tested and with your modern headset you will get game audio, voice chat and microphone compatability all in the one headset like it should be. Full Guide can be found here with links to required hardware. https://www.reddit.com/r/steelbattaliononline/comments/yr9d7u/a_few_of_us_steel_battalion_players_have_figured/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
  7. Hello There, yesterday I was with my father trying to upgrade our old and loved Og Xbox, but I'm new with Xbox tools, and after some try and error trying to get Chimp to work. I ran accidentaly the XBP Table Writer after that, and all games in the F: and G: partitions were gone. Now when I try to send any file to these partitions via FTP using Filezilla, I get the error "550 Internal error" or "Failed to get folders" I just ignored the error and got a DVD that I instaled the HexEn 2018, and with that I could clone my HD, but all the games that we had (Almost 120gb of games) are missing. Someone knows if there's any way to recover the games that I lost or at least recover the storage ?

  9. Hi everyone I'm new here to this forum. I'm going to make this short and sweet. I was given an original Xbox by an older friend of mines. It was his sons, he knows nothing about it. I start it up and I get this screen. ( smartxx ) screen, the picture below. when I click on the ( x2 evox 2005 ) it takes me to the photo with the error code 6. I removed the mod chip and then started the Xbox again. the screen went black with some green lettering and a code error 6 on the top left of the screen. is there anyway I can completely remove this chip and have it back to factory settings. or do I need to keep this mod chip in the Xbox? is there something I can do to make this thing work? there's no games anywhere in this chip. idk what to do. if you need more pictures of the menu please let me know so i can post them, thank you for your help
  10. Hi there, I'm back doing another 1.6 mod with an Aladdin XT Plus2. It's a stock 1.6 xbox, so I thought a modchip would be pretty straightforward... Added the pin header and the tutorial I followed said cut the pins marked with an X (hopefully this makes sense) X O O O O O O O X X O O I've rebuilt the LPC and cut the L Frame trace, linked the BT to enable chip at all times, soldering went smoothly, no traces pulled etc. This is my third xbox mod install hi When trying to turn it on, I get the 3 restarts and the green red flashing ring led Any help or checklists to work through would be hugely appreciated, I can add photos tomorrow Cheers, Bryce
  11. Hi all, I tried searching but didn't see this exact question. I have an old softmodded (10 years ago?) v1.6 XBOX that I tried to install an Aladdin XT+2 on so I could double the RAM. Long story short, I think I borked that motherboard and it won't boot now. I've gotten a replacement v1.4 XBOX and correctly installed the Aladdin and gotten it to boot properly to EvoX. Is there a way I can transfer my modded HDD from the 1.6 to my 1.4 with the Aladdin? I had XBMC and a lot of apps installed so would prefer not to start from scratch. Thanks!
  12. Kaos Engineer Can You Compress This File To .XPR For Me? https://www.mediafire.com/file/5uvq7uqs4a75mwa/LoaderMedia.zip/file This is the tool: https://www.mediafire.com/file/gygcx54d740brx9/Bundler.zip/file I don't know how to use it because it doesn't contain a .exe file and i don't know how to use it through the DOS menu
  13. Hi, I’ve been trying to fix an Xbox which used to work perfectly. I tried to do the wii to hdmi mod and screwed it up, so put the old av port back on and confirmed all the pins going to where they should go, but it started fragging. I compared it with a working Xbox and found one line across the motherboard giving a strange diode reading of -1.1 or -1.0 when it should be 0.497 (red probe on ground). I’m attaching 2 photos showing a red line where this strange reading is. Any advice would be grateful.
  14. Hello all, I've just dusted off my old Xbox and have some questions about it, I've tried to Google it but the people writing answers is on a whole other level of knowledge. I'm looking to install a 3TB HDD in my Xbox and I have some questions. I have a Xenium modchip, and I'm wondering if I can follow along this guy from 24:18 and forward? Can I use Cerbios with my Xenium modchip? When I boot the Xbox now it says Xecuter2 under the Xbox logo, I've tried every tool in my dashboard but no one seems to tell me the BIOS that I run now. I think I have a revision 1.4 because I've a Focus video chip, I've also looked for soldering on those pins for TSOP flash, but they don't seem to be touch (just read about a guy that managed to flash TSOP and brick his device). I just want someone to verify that I can upgrade the BIOS so that I can utilize the 3TB HDD before I manage to brick it. Second question that I have is this little switch that's connected to the modchip itself, what does it do? There seems to be no difference where it put it, it has two "modes" front and back. Thanks in advance
  15. Ok so I recently soft modded my Xbox with the latest Rocky5 build and installed chimp via the extras disc. I then hooked up my 1tb lockable sata hard drive with a star tech ide adapter and also a 80 pin cable. This was set to slave with the og hardrive set to master. Everything seemed to be ok whilst rubbing chimp. The process took around an hour and half with speeds of around 3MiB’s per second to transfer the 5gb of content stored on the Xbox. I then fully installed my 1tb whilst set to master but I got error 7/6 on boot. I tried to re do the process but now when I launch chimp it states that my slave drive is locked and I can’t unlock it even though I’ve tried all of the unlock options. I’ve also tried 2 other compatible drives but as soon as I launch chimp it states that they are locked even though they wasn’t before. Even when I try them back in my pc they are now password locked at the bios screen and can not be unlocked. For these drives I haven’t even ran any processes within chimp for it to lock them in the first place. Anyone have any ideas?
  16. I looked all over the internet and I didn't find it, I also heard that it is very difficult to find, can someone give me the link if you have it?

  19. Hi all, I have a problem that has me outside my element and completely stymied. Hoping someone has seen this before and could assist. My long-time main Xbox is a 1.2 hardmodded with a clone AladdinXT chip, running EvoX M8+ bios, and a 500 gig hard drive. I recently picked up a 1.4 that was in good shape. I fixed it up and TSOP-modded it, then I got my hands on an OpenXenium chip (it has Xecuter 2, Ind-bios and I added M8+), so I added it to the 1.4. I set X2 as the default launch bios. I wanted to move to the 1.4 as my main box, so I tried to clone my 500 gig hdd to a 1 TB I wanted to put in the 1.4. It appeared to work, but when I tried loading a game, I found that all of my savegames were corrupted. Dead or Alive 2 said the save was corrupted, and Burnout 3 said the save was "unuseable." Everything else except for my savegames, seems to have copied over fine. Did I do something wrong? I'm re-cloning the drive to see if it was just a bad transfer, but I'd definitely appreciate any advice you could offer. Thanks!
  20. Hey guys, Bought a second hand xbox that came hard modded with a sst 49lf020. Seems this xbox hasn't been used in a while as some of the apps are a couple of revisions behind. Should I wipe it clean and start again? Should I buy a different modchip? Attached an image below of the details from EvoX.
  21. @miggawhatStarted a thread back in 2019, with issues about ethernet port not working right. I have an ethernet problem as well, but different. This is new to me, never had any network problems of this type before. I bought an ebay "as-is" untested box, luckily it booted up, cd worked, and after 20 years of life, the clock capacitor was in "like new" shape (no leakage or anything, but of course, I still removed it). It had never been opened before, and oddly there was a HDD screw floating around the HDD tray that had come loose, just as an anecdote. Anyway, I took the G & CPUs's heat-sinks out to re-thermal compound them. I plan on making this my first TSOP, getting my feet wetter, so to speak. After softmodding in my normal fashion, I attempted to FTP over the C, eeprom, and MS backups to my master backup storage drive. Unfortunately, I wasn't getting an IP showing up in the dash, even and after confirming I had all the network settings correct: FTP enabled Set to static 192.168.0.2 port 21 4 users allowed User and pw both : xbox Known good x over cable, and double checked on another box (as I describe below) I was able to copy the C and eeprom's to USB/mem card and transfer to a working 1.6 softmod. I then FTP'd, from the working 1.6, the contents of the memory card. So I can technically upgrade the HDD externally, and add the games and emulators I want. However, I'm more into system link stuff, and a non functioning ethernet port/network stuff isn't desirable. On the rear of the box, I get NO lights whatsoever. I gave it a little wiggle and jiggle, but nothing would light up and no IP address would show up on the dash. I checked and cleaned the port with swabs/qtips and iso, the swabs came out basically clean. All the pins/tabs looked to have good contact surfaces, none bent or missing, etc. I'm considering getting a solder pump finally, and trying to swap out the physical port for another one, but swapping ports depends on what advice you fine folks might provide, which I thank you for greatly!! Anyone else have an issue like this? V1.0, Unleash X (Ebay #3)
  22. Hey guys, my softmodded 1.6 box with a SATA adapter in it is taking a while to boot up and I'm wondering if the drive is on its way out. I'd like to be able to clone the drive to a SATA SSD I have lying around but every drive cloning tutorial I see out there involves hotswapping an IDE drive. How would I accomplish this?
  23. Hey, I have installed the chip successfully and flashed the M8plus16 bios to the 256k slot but my DVD drive is toast and wont read my setup dvd (I tried tweaking the pot in stages all the way down to 500 ohms but nothing). I have installed and formatted a new harddrive within Xblast but is there a way to install a dashboard without a dvd drive? Is there a Bios with a built in FTP server for example? Thanks!
  24. Hello I'm just in the process of dusting off my Green Halo edition OG xbox, that I modded years ago. Had a problem with the hdd, formatted it (with a release of slayers) and never got around to finishing the job. There it sat for 10? years and I am now in the process of sorting it out. I dont remember what chip I put in, but I do recall it has connectiopn to the power and eject buttons. When I press the power button, the dashboard comes up (cant remember which one), and when I press the eject button, I get a boot error screen... wall of text.... I remember that it will boot differently depending on which button you use, but I dont recall what it was. So, to get to the point, is there any reason I should lock the hdd? 120gb ide... Does the MS dashboard require it to be locked? I recall I had the p[rescense of mind to unlock the drive before I worked on it way back when, but dont recall why I locked it in the first place...
