Classic XBOX Board Rev 1.6 no PictureHi, i´m Stef from Germany and recently got my hands on a apperantly "half"- working Classic XBOX for free, MFD 2005. Since almost nothing was included (no AVIF Adapter, Cables of the Controllers were cut and are not available), I removed the AVIF-Socket and tried to get at least a Composite output on Pins 21&23 by bridging Pins 11&12 in order to select Mode 2 (both seen from the underside of the PCB). I have no signals on any Video Output Pin except for Scart Blanking. The Box starts up, LED turns solid green, Powerbutton opens the DVD tray, box turns automatically off after some time of inactivity. Before i made the 11&12-Bridge to select the mode, the Box started to Flash Green/Red after some time, so at least it recognizes the Mode settings and acts accordingly. Likewise it could be a fried BIOS, but i have some electronics experience (small analog Oscilloscope in 10 MHz Range, a 8 Channel Logic Analyzer and Fluke MM is available) and i´d like to check the Signal Flow / In-out of the - i assume - Video Converter Chip straight below of the AVIF-Plug. Is there any pinout description for this specific IC available or any additional documentation regarding signalling on the board available? Caps seem to be ok, Voltages are in their specific range. Fiddling around with heat in order to detect a loose IC connection or pressing on the board on some areas doesnt´t change anything. Thank you very much! Best regards Stef
1.2 Board lines in screen
JackedLynx posted a topic in RepairI have a 1.2 board that has these lines in the screen either with component output or with a Pound HDMI cable (love it or hate it, it works for me) I replaced the CPU caps with brand new ones from DigiKey but it still does this. I even swapped power supplies yet still the same result. I had a Mountain Dew console with a 1.2 board that did this but that was fixed with a new power supply. Anyone have any ideas as to what else could be causing this?
I've got 2 xboxes, one X3 with the inbuilt menu and one slim no-dvd xbox. I'm getting deja vu that I've had this problem before and managed to solve it. In the X3: - It powers on, I was able to get into the X3 menu by holding the white controller button, no issues. - But I wasn't able to get into my dashboard (i know it works, I used it a few months back - and I can see the game titles / menu titles on the LCD screen) - I remembered the issue was something to do with the region/video mode not matching, so I think I switched the region to PAL 480i initially directly via the X3 menu and managed to get into the dashboard. All my games etc everything is working fine, but only in 480i now. - So I go to enigmah X and switch back to NTSC thinking this would allow me to go back to 720p, no dice, now the X3 menu won't show up (again, I can see it loading correctly via the LCD screen, there's just no video out) - I tried switching to a SCART cable to try "force" PAL mode again, and I can see via OSSC's readout that i'm getting 480i but again there's no video out. What can I do here? I vaguely recall that using a composite cable somehow hardware-forced it back to default 480i and fixed this issue. The slim: - Powers on, loads up, works fine, OSSC says 720p out, can't see anything obviously wrong with it - The picture is blurry. Literally just very blurry. I've tried switching back and forth between 480/720p and it's still extremely blurry, I really can't explain why. Last time I used it the picture was crystal clear. Please help you guys!
Weird TV picture problem/glitch
Hari125 posted a topic in General Xbox DiscussionHi! I have a softmodded xbox (PAL) and i am having a problem while playing some games or running some apps. Here is what i am talking about: There is weird black line that shouldn't be there. I'm not having the same problem with dashes (UnleashX, XBMC, MS Dash), games like Doom 3, Call of Duty 3, SSX 3 or some apps (example: having problem with dvd2xbox v0.7.8, but not with version 0.7.4). As shown in the picture, I think the red section should be over the green one (on the top). Maybe there is something wrong with my tv (toshiba model: 32XV500P). I also tried different settings, but nothing changed.
Remove / Disable profile picture when starting XBMC4GAMERS
KitMikro posted a topic in DashboardsHi, I have been searching for a way to disable the profile picture of XBMC4GAMERS. I only have one profile and it is set to auto load. Looking at /system/userdata/profile.xml there is the line <thumbnail pathversion="1"> that shows where the current image is located but if I delete it, there is still an empty square shown.... now how do I get rid of this square?
Blocky and Freezing PictureSoftmod. 64mb xbox. I originally thought it was cheap component cables. Replaced, didn't work. Thought bad component connectors, switched televisions. Still didn't work. I haven't found any pattern yet. Has this happened to anyone else? The blockiness/stuttering will start happening in a game or emulator, then keep happening even upon restart on the menu. Any tips? Thanks!
XBoX Picture Won't SettleHi, it's been awhile since I've touched my XBOX. Background Information: - It's either a 1.1 or a 1.2 - Gave it a thorough cleaning - I bridged the solder points and TSOP flashed it with no issues - Removed the time capacitor - It's connected to an OSSC via the Official Microsoft XBOX Component Cables - I have a second XBOX that's also either a 1.1 / 1.2 that I did all the aforementioned things to that plays just fine. - The XBOX was working fine for over a week Issue: - The XBOX turns on fine, and the Microsoft Introduction Plays - The screen flashes once (as does my other one) before it tries to boot the HDD - Usually right after the introduction, it used to load right into the Unleash X dashboard, but now the screen stays blank for a good 20-30 seconds before I see a very unstable image of Unleash X main menu go across the screen. - It seems like the XBOX cannot hold the picture steady and keeps changing resolutions. Things I tried: - Replaced the 3x 6.3v 3300 capacitors near the CPU as one was bulging - Used the official Microsoft XBOX Composite Cables that boots normally and the picture comes up fine I'm not sure if it's just old and other things are going on the board. All the other capacitors seem to be fine on the motherboard itself, although I haven't really looked at the PSU yet. I'm mostly new to this so I'm not sure what to look for in terms of the composite working but not the component since both cables work fine on the other XBOX. Thanks in advance.
