About Me

  1. Hello, I'm certain I saw an OGXbox Discord server, but I couldn't find any link with Google or the forums internal search either. Can I have an invite please ? Cheers
  2. Hello, I have recently purchased my own OGxbox after years of playing on my brothers. I softmodded it already and I am thinking about doing more. I joined this forum because its great to have a place like this where people can come and get there questions answered.
  3. I have a modded v1.6 that has been used regularly, although not heavily over it's life time. Went to turn on today, powers on for a second and shuts down again. Have tried a different power cable, same result. I have also blown out the vents, although not to dusty. I have found that if I dissconnect the display port it will boot fully, discs spinning etc, but with the flashing green/orange lights. If I connect the display back to the unit it powers straight down. Could anyone offer advice please? Thank you.
  4. I wonder if there is any PDF reader out there (didn't found anything) or if someone is able to make a simple one?
  5. 1.0-1.4 ogxbox mainboard wanted in the uk preferably with the hdd key or better still a print out of xbox info, please. pm me if you are selling. thanks, aly.
  6. I have two OG XBOX consoles and I'd like to get them up and running again if possible. One unit powers on but shows an error 7 and the other powers on and reaches the dashboard but will not read any disc I put into the drive(There is also no message about not being able to read the disc either). What steps should I take to get started with a repair? Is either unit a lost cause? I know I'm probably leaving out important info but hopefully this can get me going.
  7. Hey guys and lady's, the titel mostly say it already. I would be interested in which tools you use for your xbox and which tools you think should be on an installer. And also interesting is what you would like to have on an installer as well like emulators (and ofc which), dasdboards (Old, new ect.) or which options you think would be nice to have on that disc. Reason is, Dave an I had a little chat about the installer and some little issues with it and like I wrote in the topic (of the installer), I plan to re-design it a bit, if you will so. (Because Dave is right here and there so, yeah....) Thats why I would like to get some imput of you guys. PM's are also welcome, in case you're shy. So hit me with your suggestions ect.. EDIT. And no softmodding. Rocky does a awesome job with his softmodding tool so there would be no need to put something like that on an other installer.
  8. Hey everyone. Thanks for this community - yet another Xbox 1.4 that's been with me since it was new, out of the closet and getting the gold star treatment.
  9. $25 Custom DIY Component Cables for OGXbox made from an official Xbox360 set of cables. I do not grantee my work. This was a personal use set and I figured I'd pass them on to the community. *NOTE* Composite is NOT connected. There is only YPbPr and L/R audio
  10. Just passing this information on: I've just got word that FatXplorer 3.0 beta 1 has just been released for testing! https://fatxplorer.eaton-works.com/3-0-beta/ This contains the long-awaited support of OGXbox disks! This means no more being restricted to FTP transfer speeds to fill your disks- you can drag and drop using the ordinary Windows interface. Some features are not yet supported such as: formatting. This means you would still need to format your disk first via your XBox using XBPartitioner, then connect it to your laptop/PC. I have noted that it does appear to support opening raw backup images, although NOT compressed ones (notably the XBMCOrigins torrent, as that comes in a custom .imgc compressed format due to being backed up by HDDRawCopyTool.). Also note that the final version will be pay-for software, although in my opinion well worth it. I've been using the 2.5 version for years for managing my 360 disks and love it.
  11. Hey, Everyone! I joined the a few weeks ago. I've been modding OG Xbox since the days of The Screen Savers on Tech (G4) TV. I got my first and only modchip, an Xecuter 2.3b Lite+ back in around 2003. The very first time I got the new Evolution-X Dashboard to load and a Genesis emulator to run I was over the moon thrilled and thus began my heightened interest in "modding" things. I was always perusing the Xbox-scene website. Shortly thereafter, I had quite a few folks ask me to mod their systems but they were all softmods and hard drive upgrades. I left the Xbox modding scene pretty much right after the 360 came out but, when I discovered CoinOps, Rocky5's softmod tools, and TSOP modding a couple years ago, it reignited my interest. I've been practicing my soldering skills so I figured I'd give TSOP modding a go. My model 1.0 Xbox I bought back in 2001 was the guinea pig and was successful with the TSOP on the first try. I first removed the old modchip as it was having issues staying in contact with the motherboard. This would cause it to power cycle 3 times then flash red. Once it was removed, the problem went away. I was so elated that I found someone on FB Marketplace who sold my his 1.0, 2 duke controllers, and about 12 games for $30. He said it was having issues shutting off but, after a good cleaning and a clock capacitor removal, it's working great. I TSOP modded that one as well although it took me about 6 tries to get the TSOP writeable. My next hardware venture may be into the realm of 128MB upgrades although my soldering skills are kinda crappy. I actually really enjoy playing these old games too and have recently completed Baldur's Gate I and II, Evil Dead: Regeneration, and am currently playing Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. Here are some of the other retrogaming interests I've involved myself with: Created a Arcade (LaunchBox/Hyperspin) system from a shoddy empty arcade cabinet. It now includes about 80 systems and tens of thousands of games (see slideshow below). You can view my Hyperspin contributions here: https://hyperspin-fe.com/profile/18535-malarrya/content/?type=downloads_file You can view my LaunchBox contributions here: https://forums.launchbox-app.com/profile/79634-malarrya/content/?type=downloads_file (I'm very proud of the D&D Platform I created). Fully restored a Marvel vs Capcom 2 machine from non-working/shoddy status to fully working and Net DIMM expandable. The Net DIMM is a Naomi system cartridge that's network capable and contains 512MB of flash memory so many other Naomi games can be flashed to the cabinet. Soft-modded several Nintendo Wii systems installing new games, emulators, and programs with an SD card. Updated my Sega Dreamcast so games are launchable from the rear serial port using an SD card. Still own my original Sega Genesis with 32x and Sega CD and have collected about 30+ 32x games. Restored/fixed 2 ColecoVisions and amassed about 50 games Own about 60 Original Xbox games, 2 dozen Xbox 360, and about 10 Xbox One games. I've owned the following consoles (in personal chronological order): Pong, Atari 2600, ColecoVision, NES, Sega Genesis, Sega 32x, Xbox original, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Sega Dreamcast, Xbox One S, and Sega CD. I've always been the "other system" guy. Coleco over Atari, Sega over Nintendo, Xbox over PlayStation, Samsung over Apple, Samsung over Sony (TVs), etc. My interests also include my family, snowboarding, baseball, hockey, movies, guitar, boardgames, throwing Halloween parties, and Comic-Con (conventions). I mostly listen to Celtic music, John WIlliams music, Beatles, Pop-punk, and 80s. Good to meet you all!

  13. Hi, I am new to the community and new to the XBOX mod scene in general. Never had Xbox's for some reason... Nintendo's, PlayStation, Sega's but never Xbox. Anyway, came across an Original Xbox and an Xbox 360 for free, and fixed them up. Just softmodded the xbox & looking for some things to do with it. Thanks, Jeremy
  14. Hello, New to the site. Have 3 original Xbox consoles, one working DVD/CD drive. Want to attempt Softmodding one of the non-working DVD/CD consoles. Still enjoy the old games. Intend to upgrade the hard drive as well to be able to store games on rather than have to place in dvd/cd drive.
  15. Sad to see the Iso Zone gone but it's great to find other xbox communities around the net still going strong.
  16. If you check out the wiki list for original Xbox games that support widescreen, you'll see a shit load of games that supposedly support 16:9 widescreen in proper unstretched aspect ratio, though most at only 480p. Well, I have a modded Unleash X OGXbox and have never been able to do it, despite fiddling with every setting I can find - from the OGBox's original dash to the display settings in Unleash X. Nada. Nothing works. The few games like that Incredible Hulk one that were released in 720p have no problems with proper 16:9 widescreen but all these others that supposedly support it just don't work. I even messed with the various aspect ratio & zoom settings on my Vizio 42" E420i-B0 Smart TV and no joy. Just curious: has anyone here managed to do it? I can easily live with those black bars on either side it's just that it would be nice to have 16:9 on all 480p games that supposedly support. it.
  17. I've been asking around at different sites to try and see what FPS's were able to be ported to the xbox. I've had a lot of information but without any results. So far I know of these from the PC will work. 1.Alien Vs. Predator: Gold Edition 2 Descent II 3 Doom 4 Doom II 5 The Ultimate Doom 6 Final Doom: The Plutonia Experiment 7 Final Doom: TNT: Evilution 8 Duke Nukem 3D 9 Heretic 10 Hexen 11 Rise of the Triad 12 Shadow Warrior 13 Quake 14 Quake II 15 Quake III Arena (Featuring Homer Simpson vs Darth Vader) 16 Zombie Crisis I found these at this link here. http://digthatbox.com/2011.02.27_arch.html#1298943709066 I also found these games listed on eBay. The seller's Xbox had a lot listed here. Star Wars Doom _______________________________ Doom II: Hell On Earth Herian Herian 2 Biowar Dimensions of Time Wolfenstein Nocturnal Mission Wolfenstein Spear of Destiny Wolfenstein Second Encounter Quake: ________________________________ Quake/Hipnotic Quake/Rogue Quake III Arena Shadow Warrior: ________________________________ Wanton Destruction Twin Dragon In Time Lo Nukem Last War Park Rampage Warrior Tai Wang Tonight Never Ends Wang Bang Heaven When I Was Young ______________________________ Any help with links to these or if someone had made a game pack of these on the Xbox then please let me know.
