I'm new to modding and basically have near zero computer knowledge. I downloaded and unpacked Eartwormjames's 212 pack and I'm a little lost on where to put everything. I'm running the Rocky5 emustation and have a few roms sets running, but the 212 pack is giving me a headache. I'm using filezilla and have moved the roms from the roms folder to the n64 roms folder on my xbox, they are recognized but I get black screen when trying to launch a game. I'm assuming the surreal6.0 needs placed somewhere, or that maybe the 212 pack needs placed somewhere as a whole? Any help, as always, would be greatly appreciated. Going from no computer experience to the xbox mod has been a pretty steep learning curve.

While tinkering with my Ndure softmodded Xbox, I have managed to mess something up with the files on the hard drive. I now get error 21. I'm not too concerned as I was sure to back up the eeprom. What I would like to do is use something like xboxhdm to build a new hard drive but have the softmod files included when the hard drive was being built. This way I simply put the hard drive in and I dont have to go through the process of softmodding all over again as it was included when I built the hard drive. From there I will probably just go ahead and TSOP flash the Xbox to make any future issues easier to deal with. What would be the easiest way to do something like this?

Brought out my Original Xbox from the closet. Wanted to get a few games for it and update Hexen. It's already soft modded. I can't download yet, that sucks.

Hi everyone! I am absolutely thrilled that the original XBOX scene is still alive! I modded a bunch of XBOXs back in the day and I kept one of them. It's a nice crystal XBOX with an X3 (with a 1MB 3294 BIOS) and the nice LED control panel. I don't know why but back then I put a version 1.1 mobo in the crystal case. Back then a popular addition was a little fan underneath the HDD when you did an IDE HDD upgrade so it still has one of those still. (Nobody does that these days?) The other day I started it up and it was okay but it froze on a half a dozen or so games. At a closer glance, some of the file or folder names had some funky symbols so I thought to myself that I better replace the aging HDD. I'm so happy to see the new hardware available. I ordered a nice 80-wire cable and the SATA to IDE adapter and that arrived today. I didn't have a single DVD-R in the house so I couldn't do the HDD installation easily. Sure, hooking everything up was a charm. I did a quick cleaning of the interior of the case and removed the clock cap. Started it back up and I could only use the X3 BIOS to handle the HDD prep. I had to use the X3 BIOS to FTP the new dash. That was terrible but it worked in the end. Huge problem trying to get the partition correct. I recently flashed a bunch of different (and recommended) BIOSes and when I switched from one to another, it deleted what I had on the HDD and the partition size was different. All BIOSes that I selected, to my knowledge, supported LBA48. I used XBpartitioner 1.3 and also tried XBPTableWriter to write the table for those BIOSes that needed it. It looks good right now but I'm hesitant to change to a different bank to try a different BIOS. Anyways, in the near future, I'm doing that Noctua 80mm silent fan installation and I'll replace the thermal compound on the CPU and GPU. Glad to be here! Cheers!

To be honest I'm just not sure If I should swap my softmoded MB to the halo edition or softmod them both. I honestly want to sell the MB but I donk know how to show its a Halo Edition on the /MB. ANY ideas ?

Hi, I'm new here and have had both of my original xboxs modded when they came out years ago. I finally dusted them off and to my surprised they're still working great...well one of them at least. I'm hoping I can pick up some tips on what I can do to get the other up and running well again.

Dusting off my old xbox. Thinking about dumping avalaunch and using XBMC4gamers instead. Is it worth it?

Hello OG Xbox Members i am new here and i am here to stay.... However i am in trouble with something right now i recently picked up a MAXTOR PATA133 DIAMOND MAX 10 200GB (IDE HDD) and it seems to be failing when cloning with chimp not sure if i have to reformat the drive and repair the bad sectors but how would i do that using my PC is there a way i can use the IDE cable from the xbox and plug it into my motherboard from my PC and clone my HDD that way any programs out there for such activities Or would it be best for me to buy a IDE to sata connector from ebay and just use the 2TB 3.5" barracuda HDD that i just have laying around not sure if i will even need that much space unless i download the A-Z games list has me thinking thos please any suggestions to help me sway my ideas would be helpful sorry for any mistakes whilst typing Tired moments Kinx Gorilla

Howdy folks. I just started in on HW modding. Ive soft modded things and built many computers but this is something else entirely. I have disassembled my 1.0 xbox and will solder the tsop. THe next step is to figure out how to flash the bios and enable the hdd. I've never done this before so wish me luck!!!

So I've had a modded Xbox original for a few years now, and I just got around to using it again. Thanks to this forum it's running much stronger. Upgraded to the Startech SATA adapter, changed to an 80wire IDE cable (not pictured) and then moved over to a TSOP flash instead of a softmod.

Hi, Joined this site recently, thought i should say hello. Looks like a good resource for the OG box and i shall be using it frequently as ive recently been getting back into the box. Currently have a 2tb hdd on order with an ide to sata adapter ready and waiting to go in my X3 modded crystal box. Also have 2 more soft mod boxes

just saying hi, and came looking for some skins. i have a bit of modding experience in general jut not og xbox specialized. i was bigger into the 360 scene but i do still have an x3 og xbox and a tsop 1.0. that currently has a dead lan port.

Hi all. Firstly it's great to see a active old Xbox community. I am a new member so please be patient I am a retro collector and I have 3 old Xbox consoles. X2 are tsop modded with the wincore 256 chip.. and I have one v1.6 that I am awaiting to chip. Anyway.. one of the 1.5's I bought a long time ago and when it booted it no longer displayed the green Microsoft boot screen before the xecutor logo.. and the logo was orange. I flashed the bios chip with a bios off the hexen disk everything works.. but now I get the green boot screen and normal xecutor flash screen before my console launches.. So guess my question is. was this a custom bios and are they difficult to change? Many thanks

I knew this was extremely hard for me to get my hands on. I've looked all over the Internet for wide custom banners. I found a few but they were missing quite a bit. I had to get a little bit from this guy a little bit from that guy and made my own bundle. In this ZIP file is not my entire wide set. Just the ones I had very hard time finding I wanted to share this with the group because I made them myself. I could not find any online. In this download you will find borders 4 wide icons for XBMC. Some of the icons are coin-ops. Premium. Hyper vision ninja and ninja gold. Even adults only with neon lights... I hope that somebody can actually use these. This way I did not waste a bunch of time just making it for myself. Please seed this as much as possible and share as much as possible. Hi there I am new to modding Xboxes, i have watched a number of videos on the subject . I plan to look through all the forum topics to guide me , my biggest hurdle is knowing what tools, leads and software to have so it makes the process easier. I have four Xboxes, two have been soft modded by the previous owners (one has an extension kit with three HDD's internally and has an Akira 2 mod chip), one standard Xbox and one Pal Crystal Xbox version 1.5 I plan to TSOP all of them if possible. My soldier skills are good, i have installed mod chips in my PS2, and Gamecube. I have also modded my Dreamcast with an IDE Reborn and have an IDE drive in a custom built DC table top arcade. Any help on where to look for info would be much appreciated

Hi, just saying hello, I have my org xbox with xecutor chip working well for years and now i have Coinops 8 installed on it but have to access it using xbmc. Thought i was doing a smart thing by copying the default.xbe of coinops to the c: drive and renaming it xboxdash.xbe but surprise surprise, locked out now. I have thankfully renamed the old xboxdash.xbe to a different name which i will try and rename once i can get into FTP again, (cant get in ). Ive used angry ip to find the ip address but i think im locked out. once i get permission i will use the hexen disc to give me FTP access and change back the way they were.

Hey guys, promaori here - new member from New Zealand. Have been interested in modifying my second Xbox console for a few years now - picked it up for $10 with some games and have successfully soft-modded it using the Tom Clancy exploit. Just been holding out for a 2TB drive to finalise it before exploring homebrew and emulation. Looking forward to talking to you all about this and learning more about my soft-mod! Peace!

Hello, I'm trying to get my old modded xbox working. Back in the day I was big into it, but I damaged the board messing with led's and eventually moved onto the pc world. I picked up another xbox from ebay and put my old modchip and my old 250gb hd in, but it's only showing 5gb and none of the games are showing up, so I'm hoping I can flash some new software on it and get it working again. I've been out of the loop on xbox mods for over 10 years, but everyone says hexen will have the software I need, so here I am
