About Me

  1. I have the Xerc 2 from Nemesis and I have a 1.0 I'm putting it in. I'm just wondering what the motherboard pinout is and what all is necessary. I found a video for the 2.0 xerc Install, but I need to know the 1.0 power pinout to hook it up. I cannot find install instructions for the xenium version at ALL. I actually found it in the video, but I have no idea which wires coming from the IR molex are IRD, IR- and IR+. There's red, white and black. wires pluggin into the IR module. Also... aren't I missing the HDD activity wire? Isn't that what the blue LED is? Also, there's only one SL contact on the xerc, but the wiring diagram mentions SL green and SL red. WTF? @NeMesiS Edit: I think I'm being stupid and need to use common sense. IR + should be red, IR- should be black, and IRD, logically since it's the only one left, should be white. Wow. Still need to figure out the SL wiring thing, though. Edit: After I ended up making multiple retarded posts, Nemesis was kind enough to point me in the right direction. Couldn't find it with a search engine. https://www.emuxtras.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=187&t=6786&start=170
  2. Hi all, just finished a cerbios build for a friend. It’s a 1.2 with a 4TB drive. I’m finding that every so often the system will freeze. When I reboot the system, I’ll just have a black screen or sometimes black screen with a sporadic blink of an image onscreen. Then I’ll get a quick green flash on the eject light. Does anyone know what a flashing green light might mean?
  3. Hello, I have a chipped Xbox with all the goodies: FTP access, 2TB hard drive, XBOX4gamers as default, etc... I'm the original owner and I never connected it to Xbox Live! I would like to connect it to Insignia but I believe that my dashboard needs an update... My dashboard version is 4817 How can I install V2 Xbox Live for Insignia? I already have an Insignia registration! THANK YOU! and have a good weekend! Also, my XBOX4gamers version is 1.2.122 and I can FTP to it but when I click the URL downloader updater is says no network access but I'm sure that it's connected to the internet! I just want to update the game trainers! any way to do that manually? Thanks again!
  4. I had a little trouble figuring this out, so i figured i would write this up. 1) install XBMC4GAMERS 2) launch it and setup your profile 3) go to settings, the downloader 4) update/install URL downloader (this is auto) 5) go to artwork 6) install XBOX artwork installer 7) when asking where to install it, install it into E:\apps\ 8. Use the left arrow to switch from games to applications 9) Run xbox artwork installer 10) Reboot and your artwork should be there. Give it some time as it caches everything.
  5. I'm not a huge fan of mounting PCBs on the outside of my Xbox, so I came up with a way to use controller ports with an internal OGX360 (latest firmware supports OG controllers) and I thought I'd share. This is just a USB hub designed to use the Xbox's proprietary connectors, your motherboard plugs into the OGX360's Pro Micro boards, the OGX360 and controller port cables plug into the hub. I included a few extra headers, two are for video sync lines (CLK A and CLK B) which get passed from the motherboard to the controller ports, though I have not tested if OG Xbox lightguns will work (I don't have any). There's also a DC header so you can power the hub/peripherals from a +5V source inside the Xbox, I've been using the Molex HDD connector so no soldering is required to install it. The power source automatically switches to the DC header once a +5V source is plugged in (using a TPS2116DRLR power switch). If all you want to use is a 360 wireless PC adapter, the extra power isn't really needed. It mounts on the rf shield, above the middle tab for the faceplate. The latest version of the board (pictured above) fits all Xbox models: Here's the link to the GitHub, it includes wiring diagrams for making your own cables and gerbers for that USB adapter^ A couple of notes: Memory cards will not work with this, OG Xbox communicators probably won't work either. v1.6 Xboxes need cable extensions for their controller ports since their wires are too short to reach the hub. If anyone has an OGX360 and a lightgun setup, I'd be willing to send out a kit with video sync headers and connectors to test and see if they work.
  6. Hello, History of the error I got a modded Xbox as a gift, but I know almost nothing about the Xbox. I think it has a hard mod. When I started the Xbox it said "Xecuter2" under the Xbox logo and then the menu opened where you could start/select/delete the installed games. But I didn't manage to install games via FTP. Therefore I tried to install the Rocky5 softmod with Splinter Cell. When the soft mod was installed, the Xbox restarted, but only a black screen was displayed and the LED around the eject button is solid orange-yellow. When I restart the Xbox, it also only shows a black screen and the LED is solid orange-yellow. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything about my problem on the internet. I am glad if you can help me. If more photos or a video helps, I'll post them. My questions Is it correct that the Xbox has a hardmod? What hardmod exactly does the Xbox have? What options do I have to get the Xbox working again?
  7. Is there a video made that shows step by step installing Ninja and Ninja Packs
  8. I have downloaded Beats Of Rage from XBMC-EmuStation using the built in Downloader. I had to swap the default.xbe with (default_samba.xbe) by swapping the names around. this enabled me to use the BOR as an emulator instead of just playing Beats Of Rage. I filled the PAKs folder with games and nearly all of them run. You can find the games on Google. Unzip them and just use the Title.PAK (small and uppercase names don’t matter) the only 4 games that don’t work are •Evil Dead •He-Man Masters of the U • Mortal Kombat •Justice League Legends I have a 128mb 1.3 Xbox tested with XBlast and using IND-Bios 5003.06 I have used the xResizer.xbe that comes with BOR to shrink the screen to help on Resolution stretching but the two games won’t play! HE-MAN just freezes the whole Xbox and a hard reboot is required Evil Dead /Mortal Kombat /Justice League Legends will let you start the game and use the menu but when the game boots the overlays are corrupted and it soon force-exits when you try and continue game play. All 4 of the listed games work on my PI-3 using EmulationStation. But the PI has a GPU frequency of 1.2 GHz. And the XBox is only 733 MHz. my list of compatible games that I found in raw PAK extensions are Alien Vs Predator Art of Fighting Astrix Beats Of Rage Castlevania Crisis Evil 1 & 2 Destruction 2 - Street Fighter Double Dragon Reloaded Dragon Rage Ed Ed’s n Eddy Final Fight X Golden Axe Legends Kill Ryu Volume 2 Kirby Nights & Dragons : the endless quest Simpsons : monster mash Streets Of Rage 4: by dawd
  9. Hello, is it possible to add SSD to softmodded xbox? If so, can someone tell me how to do it.
  10. I started working on an alternative to the HD AV pack but with added SPDIF RCA, as well as an internally mountable version with a 3d printed panel to snap or screw into the outer case if anyone would be interested in that. I liked the XOSVP's use of a VGA connector so I've included that and I see most designs with YPbPr output using 75ohm resistors, but are these actually necessary if my traces are wide enough to have an impedance of 75 ohms and will they make a difference on the L/R analog audio connections? I've only started learning this stuff recently so I'd like to know if anything about the schematic is no good. I'll post the design and editable PCB once I have it finalized. Integrally mounted version with DPDT switch to enable av mode 2+3: based on this diagram:
  11. OK, I had a lot of trouble getting the AV port out of my v1.6 XBox. The solder pump I was using removed the traces on the underside of the board. Traces on the top are fine so I am able to tap the SPDIF and 5V. However, on the bottom, I tried using bodge wires soldered directly to the resistors going to pins 11, 12 and 13. My work so far has unfortunately been messy at best and I am getting flashing orange when starting the XBox so I am pretty sure it is my bodge work that is the issue. Does anyone know if there is a better way to short pins 11/12 and 13/14 elsewhere if my AV port through holes are toast? Reference picture of pins below... http://i.imgur.com/pyjq4y6.jpg BTW, the specific behavior I am seeing is I get a green light on the Xbox initially. The HD+ blue light blinks slowly (about every 3 seconds on 3 seconds off). After 10 or so seconds the Xbox flashes orange and needs to be unplugged to turn off. I did check the ribbon cable installation a couple of times. I checked for bridged connections. I also checked that I got continuity all the way from the ribbon far edge to the opposite side of the resistor that the trace was soldered to. So I believe the cable is soldered correctly (I'm sure, however, I could be proven wrong). I also tried checking continuity from by bodges to the other side of each resistor and had mixed results. I checked my soldering and it appears to be good. Not sure if maybe I fried the resistors if that is possible. Maybe I need to jump across the resistor (not sure if they do anything when pins 11/12 and 13/14 are bridged).
  12. I've installed MakeMHz HD+ to a 1.0 motherboard. Picture looks great, but I'm not getting any sound. The HD+ accesses SPDIF directly from the AV port, so this isn't a ribbon cable issue. The SPDIF pad has continuity with the chip on the HD+ board. The trace isn't broken on the motherboard. Any ideas?
  13. Hi, a few months ago I bought 2 Xboxes to repair. I was happy to find out that one of them had a xt plus chip installed. I have tried flashing evo m8+ to the chip through hexen, unleashed x and xblast (ftp). Xblast got me as far as letting me confirm the flash by letting me press the required button combination. However it stated that the changes were not made and put be directly back to selecting the bios I wanted to use in order to flash the chip. I found online that this usually happens when the soldering of the has not been done correctly. Previously I have opened the Xbox in order to clean it, apply new thermal paste and recap the console. While I was doing this I saw that the xt plus was installed in a different manner as what I have seen previously. Could this be the reason why I am not able to re-flash the chip? I was thinking on desoldering the chip and installing it so it can be plugged in the pin header as normally. Could this solve the issue. I am quite new to modding Xboxes but so any advise would be great.
  14. I have downloaded all the DLC I could find for games( crimson skies, mechassault etc) I am wondering if it is possible to install this dlc with iso images of these games or do they have to be the HDD ready version of the game.
  15. I was given a broken Xbox version 1.0 and I want to take that mod chip and put in in my 1.3 . the chip is explained in more detail in this post I’ve found on the forum It was previously installed SOLDERLESS with a spring pin head system you just line up and screw down. When I took it out of the Xbox I noticed a random wire that was stabbed into the board? dose anyone know if this has a purpose or if it’s a necessity ? many thanks in advance
  16. I've installed MakeMHz HD+ to a 1.0 motherboard. Picture looks great, but I'm not getting any sound. The HD+ accesses SPDIF directly from the AV port, so this isn't a ribbon cable issue. 17. Been trying to get my head around the best way to install games. I think I got it sorted, could I get some feedback please? Start with ReDump style ISOs. Next step depends if there's anti-piracy protection (determined by going through the DVD2Xbox ACL files, eg. ACL for TOCA 3) If there's protection, just remove the video partition and leave the game partition untouched. dd if=redump.iso of=game_data.iso skip=387k bs=1k Otherwise, use extract-xiso (which now has ReDump support) to convert it into a compatible XISO and shrink the size. extract-xiso.exe -r "redump.iso" If the resulting ISO is > 4gb, use XISO Split to split into smaller files. FTP the ISO file to F/G:\\Games Run the "XISO to HDD Installer" script in xbmc4gamer Source of most of my assumptions: https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1134-xiso-playing-games-from-xbox-hdd-using-iso-images/page/5/ Thanks everyone.
  18. Hi When i try to install an update for a game i got an error message just after the dash said "retreiving eeprom hdd key" can you help ? thx
  19. I am hoping someone has a saved copy or can lead me to a install guide for V2.6 ce mod chip on a 1.6 mb I have found some x3 installs but wanting to make sure I am correct. thank you in advance, Chooch
  20. I have an OG xbox, I opened up but I didn't see any chip or soldered wire, so I assume my xbox is softmoded. Also I played Splinter Cell and I saw an already existing profile called "Linux", and I saw on videos this is how people softmod their console. So I dont know which one do I have currently, but I would like to install Rocky5's softmod, looks way cooler to me. What if I install Rockys softmod while I already have one installed?
  21. OK, I'll try to be thorough here. I have a 1.2 XBox with an X-B.I.T. It had been stored in my loft for over 10 years. When I attempted to use it, the 120GB IDE HDD had failed. I re-installed my original XBox HDD which I must have also modded back in the day, and everything worked fine. I got a replacement 120GB IDE HDD and set it up as new using FATXplorer with the C and E file from the link mentioned at https://www.hazeno.com/guides/fatxplorer-2tb-preload Now, my XBox will happily boot from any disc that I put in the DVD drive, but when I boot to the UnleashX dash and pop a disc in the DVD tray in order to copy it to F:, the tray shows as Empty. It doesn't matter what disc I put in, it always shows as empty. Subsequently, if I launch the MS Dashboard from UnleashX, when the MS Dash loads I get the standard "Your Xbox can't recognize this disc. Make sure it's an Xbox game, DVD movie, or audio CD. Also check to see if the disc is dirty or damaged. Remove the disc to continue." I have iND 5003.67 and evox M8 Plus 137 flashed in the X-B.I.T.
  22. I recently took a non-functional 1.0 board with 128mb of ram to a shop and asked that they move the extra ram to another working 1.0 board. Upon getting the unit back I'm noticing some unique behavior and most importantly that it won't boot. I do have an Xblast Lite chip connected, D0 goes from the point on the back to the correct location on the chip. The chip is installed with a header. When I boot with the chip connected, I get a reboot twice and then the Flashing Red and Green. When I disconnect the chip from the headers I get two reboots and a Red and Orange light. Anything I should have the installer checking out specifically with the above in mind? It looks like they had some pad lifting issues.
  23. Hello! I have finally just got my XBMC install nearly to where I want it, and want to back it up in this state. What is the most ideal way of doing so? Should I just mount the drive in FatX and save each partition?
  24. Hi all, I’m trying to replace the stock HDD with a 1TB SSD(samsung 870 QVO). I have a 1.6b xbox with an Apple X IV pro. First thing I did was flashing the TSOP bios with 512 kb version of evox bios with forced 480p and no DVD from ogxbox installer 2021. After connecting SSD with 80 pin IDE + startech ide to sata and starting up I see the new boot animation with light blue logo. The DVD however seems to get stuck in some infinite read loop. The old HDD does still boot to the ogbox menu from the DVD. I can also connect and read the ssd with usb connector. Tried to format to exfat and still the same issue. Tried 256 kb Evox bios, same problem. I’m probably missing something obviously or the startech ife to sata is broken. Any pointers are welcome
  25. I'm about to install this spi2par2019 to use with my open xenium. I've soldered a single row pin header to the spi2par2019, can I solder the other side directly to the lcd screen? The reason I'm asking is that I can only see pictures of Rezze doing this while everone else seemed to use wires to connect to the LCD it self!!!!
