I believe they are JST 2-pin SH 1.0 mm pitch connectors. eSH.pdf (jst-mfg.com)

Do the Xbox and switch show a 100Mbit/second network link has been established when you connect the Ethernet cable? IIRC, some 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps) capable switches may not negotiate a 10/100 Mbit/second link/connection for older devices without changing a setting/switch.

One thing I always thought was required for System Link networking was a network hub, not a network switch. Network switches filter traffic to each port to only those packets destined for the device's MAC address connected to a particular port, while a network hub repeats all network traffic to all ports. I could be wrong about this System Link networking requirement. I probably am since I've not tested it.

No. The old 3944 or 4043 4034 v1.0 dashboards will not work on newer rev Xboxes.

That's not System Link gameplay. That is the old, no longer online, Xbox Live service. System Link is under a completely different menu section.

Are you using original game discs? Or, are they HDD Ready downloads installed to the hard drive - (many of these are a mess and don't play right and have content missing)? Or, extracted ReDump ISO disc image content? Or, other? If so, explain?

Xenium OS settings and replacement dashboard settings are two different things. Xenium's Settings don't carry over to the replacement dashboard. It does its own set of operations to configure the network settings. Edit: And, I don't think System Link even uses IP addressing to connect. It looks for the Xbox MAC address and creates a link between the consoles using lower level communications than IP addressing.

After installing the softmod again through UDDAE, I think you need to FTP into the Xbox and delete the E:\TDATA\fffe0000\music\ST.DB file, do NOT uninstall the softmod through the menu, simply delete that file then reboot.

Which modchip do I have? Can I install alternative bios and dash?
KaosEngineer replied to Manzernes's topic in Modchips
The cable pictured is a 40-wire 40-pin standard 33.3MB/second (UDMA2) cable, not a high-speed 80-wire 40-pin IDE cable needed for UDMA5 operation. -
one 256KB bank.

After hotswapping modchips, try flashing the X3 using the Evox dashboard. What does it show for the Manufacturer and Product ID of the flash memory on the X3?
-
Install the X2 modchip in the console, boot into a replacement dashboard then swap in the X3 modchip to run the X3erase app from the replacement dashboard.

You do need the files from the Xbox Softmodding Tool softmodded hard drive's real C drive, not the shadow C drive. The reason you must run the NKPatcher Settings application before FTPing into the console to download the real C drive's content. While the NKPatcher Settings application is running, you have access to the real C drive instead of the shadow C drive. You'll know that the real C drive is being accessed instead of the shadow C drive if you see a folder named Do not touch anything in here.

Yes, if you have the eeprom.bin backup for that Xbox, FATXplorer 3.0 beta can be used to lock the hard drive. Upgrade the old softmod with Rocky5's Quick Upgrade application. Download the Installer Variants / Quick Upgrade.zip file, extract its content and follow the instructions in the archive's Read Me.txt file to install and run it. Download the eeprom.bin file to your PC that it creates after upgrading your softmod. On the Xbox, run the NKPatcher Settings application and download the content of the C drive to your PC. Download any other content from E, F and/or G of your old hard drive. After formatting the new hard drive, write the contents downloaded to each of the new hard drive's partitions. Lock the drive using the downloaded eeprom.bin file then install the new larger hard drive in your Xbox. Edit: Fixed the link to Quick Upgrade.zip. I originally posted the link to the wrong file - Quick Update.zip.

Poor/bad LPC Debug port connections.

IDE cables are all 40-pins. An 80-wire is a 40-pin cable; however, It has 80-wires. A ground wire between each of the 40 signal lines / each pin's wire to prevent crosstalk at higher data transmission rates (e.g., UDMA5 and 6 (100 MB/s or 133 MB/s vs UDMA2 of 33.3 MB/s the stock Xbox IDE 40-pin 40-wire cable works at).

No. Edit: The only way I know to do so, is to add additional hardware to your Xbox. You need an SPI2Par20xx and supported LCD screen. The SPI2Par's optional connection to the SDA (Data) and SCL (clock) lines/pins of the LPC Debug port allow it to read real-time data during game play. Not sure about Cerbios's 128MB support but the old 5003/5004 Ind-BiOS's had a bug in them when enabling the extra 64 MBs of RAM when detected. IIRC, this caused huge memory access lags. A patched 5003 release is available that fixes this bug, the incorrect Shutdown button combo activation and allows Xbox Live (Insignia) network access to play online games. Which modified Xbox BIOS are you booting?

Please post a close-up picture of just the modchip. I mod to the modchip's wiring may make it writeable.

openxenium How to install XeniumRGB and SPI2Par w/ OpenXenium?
KaosEngineer replied to gehx's topic in Modchips
Yes, the SPI2Par and XeniumRGB use different sets of pins on the expansion connector of the OpenXenium modchip. The XeniumRGB board uses pins 7-10 for the R, G, B and 3V3 lines. SPI2Par the others I've yet to look at the specific pins used to connect the SPI2Par board to the OpenXenium. Edit: SPI2Par connects to pins 2, 3 and 5 of the OpenXenium - see the installation diagram at: https://github.com/Ryzee119/spi2par2019 OpenXenium Expansion Port Pinout -
Do you have the file, Cerbios Hybrid v2.4.1 Beta.bin, in the flash subfolder on the d:\ drive? Edit: Did you create a BIOS disc that has Cerbios' dot bin file in the flash subfolder? Swap in the BIOS disc before pressing <Start>. Edit2: Oh, I read Xflash for SST49lf020 v2's readme.txt file. You upload the bios' dot bin file into its flash subfolder. d:\ here is the folder where the application is being executed from not the DVD drive. I would say your what looks like a prototype / homemade modchip doesn't support being flashed from the Xbox.

Yes

Evoxdash I believe can flash an X3 modchip as I believe XBlast OS XBE edition can too. Edit: As can the backup FlashBIOS on the X3 modchip. Accessed by powering on pressing both the eject and power buttons.
