  1. The quick upgrade does delete all the files on the C drive leaving only the UnleashX dashboard installed. If you have any other apps or data on C make sure you back it up first - FTP download. (Move it somewhere else: E, F or G drives.)
  2. Yes, get a 24-inch long Ultra ATA cable instead of the standard 18-inch length. It will be a lot easier to install.
  3. Found a zip archive for the Aladdin Programmer. It includes the software application files and a PDF manual. From the images in the manual, looks like the app's for Windows XP (AladdinProgrammer.zip). Update Found 4 additional archive files, there may be duplicates here, with various versions of the Aladdin Programmer software. aladdinsoftlive.rar ALDlive2.rar Aladdin_Live_driver.rar aladdinsoftlive.rar Also a couple pics. The V1 programmer needs the Aladdin Live's BT pad tied to GND (pin 25 on the programmer's parallel printer port connector) as shown below for the chip to be recognized. The USB cable is only used for power. The PC must have a bi-directional parallel printer port too. The DB-25 connection on the programmer ties to a parallel printer port, not a serial port. 4. I think it's the same across all Xbox v1.0-1.5 models, U7C2: Rohm 24C02 The v1.6 EEPROM, U7D1, is labeled L02 not sure of the vendor: Rohm, MicroChip, other - BR24L02. It too is an 8-pin 2-Kbit (256 x 8 bit aka 256 bytes) I2C 2-wire serial bus interface EEPROM. However, I think they are all interchangeable across all versions of the Xbox.
  5. Best is very subjective. Different people prefer different skins. I myself like tazorax_g included in my Top 10 UnleashX Skin Picks download available here at ogXbox.com
  6. From an old tech document, I see the LED ring ORANGE flashing and read elsewhere that the exhaust fan speeds up as an overheating indicator. RED flashing - config EEPROM corrupt. LED Color Coded Fault Indicators (Update: So much for markdown, trying BBCode next. Not that either, okay I'll add a graphic image of the table. Eureka! ADMINs, add a more complete editor capability toolbar also remove or move the right-hand sidebar for Similar Content. If moved, I suggest placing it at the bottom of the page so the entire width can be used for presentation of a post's content and view of the wider editor toolbar.)
  7. Can you post pictures of the top and bottom side of this Aladdin programmer?
  8. Easiest fix as neighbor's already stated is to install a modchip: Aladdin XT plus 2 (aka XT 4032). They sell on eBay and other outlets with a wide price range ~$3-12 each. Other recovery methods require many additional hardware and software applications: Xbox EEPROM reader and PonyProg software or Raspberry Pi and PiPROM software to extract the content of the 8-pin configuration EEPROM that holds the HDDKey so you can lock the HDD. You'll also need a copy of XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 or 3 software, A USB-to-HDD interface adapter to connect the new Xbox HDD to your PC. XboxHDM23USB requires the HDD to be connected via a USB connection to the PC.
  9. The green PCB programmer is an older (previous) model of the Team Xecuter programmer for X2.x lite/lite+ modchips. It too can program those older chips using X2BM Update: or, iXia or the DOS text-based app X2Cable.exe. It can also be used with many other LPC-based modchips. More info soon in a follow-up post.. It too has a connector for USB power and plugs into the PC's bi-directional parallel printer port. If you don't have a USB cable to attach a 9V battery can be used or (I think) an external 9VDC power supply. I've found a tiny bit of documentation on the older programmer but I'm still looking for a more complete and detailed write-up on how to use it. (9V battery and external power supply usage, etc.) The white, newer, Xecuter 2.6 programmer also included 2 red wires terminated with different connectors that couple with the mating connector style on older X2 modchip's. Thus, enabling the 2.6 programmer to be backward compatible with Team Xecuter's older modchips: 2.2, 2.3, etc.
  10. Sounded good to me, fits the ogXbox to a T.
  11. The X2.6 programmer works with a PC that has a bi-directional parallel printer port and Xecuter2 BIOS Manager (X2BM v2.3). Still looking for info about the other programmer.
  12. Welcome to ogXbox.com. Mod it or lose it, KaosEngineer
  13. Yes, you can reflash a new BIOS if not running the latest already. What version kernel are you using (BIOS)?
  14. Of that, I'm not sure. There's MAMEoX and MAMEoXtras are these the same?? Also, MAMEdOX v1.1 FULL 080305 from xbins ftp server and MAMEoX128 Plus ver20060505 that supports 128MB of RAM on memory upgraded v1.0-1.5 consoles.
  15. Still here v2.07, Xbins FTP server and website backup for c-xboxtool206.zip.
  16. MAMEoX 0.72.1b or later and CoinOPS 5 or later should. AFAIK, MAMEoX v.0.84.b3 and CoinOPS 8 are the latest releases of each emulator. Xbins FTP server or backup website for MAMEoX releases CoinOPS 8 - ??? for download Torrent or other.
  17. VLC on a PC doesn't play XMV files well. The Xbox plays them without the stutter. Are you previewing them on your PC as you mention VLC? (It always stutters on my old laptop - not a speedy machine.) Are they stuttering on the Xbox? Which particular preview videos do so?
  18. The BIOS must have a different LBA48 configuration than originally used to format it. Does this 2TB HDD have the partition table written to it by XBPartitioner v1.3? Which BIOS are you using?
  19. In a command prompt window, list the disk drives Windows 10 recognizes using the following wmic command: - wmic diskdrive get model, interfacetype What's it list under the InterfaceType column for the Xbox HDD: SCSI, IDE, or USB? The stock XboxHDM23USB configuration requires it to be connected as a USB device. I think some docks connect via a SCSI device driver instead of as a USB attached device.
  20. Yeah, the IDE-to-SATA adapter's negotiated transfer rate seems to create havoc with correctly accessing data from the HDD without an 80-wire 40-pin IDE cable. The stock cable just can't handle the higher data transfer rate.
  21. Does it show that it's connected? Menu #1 Is it unlocked? Check with menu #5. What USB adapter are you using?
  22. M8plus, iND-BiOS 5003.67 or the beta (aka 5004.67), X2 4983 or 4981. as these are all 256KB that will fit the 1.4's TSOP flash chip.
  23. From what I recall, XboxHDM has a filemanager, MC - Midnight Commander, that when in Linux you can access the FATX mounted drive contents. It allows you to copy files to/from the PC's FAT32 (possibly NTFS) mounted drive(s) and the Xbox's FATX format HDD..
  24. You need to use the .bfm.bin version of any BIOS file with PBL, not the plain .bin file. BFM.bin's are Boot From Media versions of the BIOS while the .bin alone versions are to be flashed to a either a modchip or TSOP.
