  1. Welcome to OGXbox.com. Enjoy the ride!
  2. A dot of conductive glue across the bridge points is so much easier. No possibility of burning a trace or pad off the motherboard.
  3. Please, continue discussion about @Ryzee119's Spi2par2019 project in the Hardware Mod topic thread he created.
  4. Flip the switches back and forth several times to clean the contacts/wiper arm inside the housing. Next, set the switches to boot the bank with 4976.02 and flash protection off. Then, try to flash it again.
  5. You you mean Unlockable or Lockable? Subject says Unlockable. Post say lockable.
  6. Yes. I don't remember 100% if it will work without unlocking the current hard drive but I think it will. After the TSOP is reflashed, IIRC, you don't have to unlock the current HDD before swapping hard drives. Remember to boot Hexen 2018 and clean off the softmod after TSOP mod (reflash) finishes.
  7. Ok, fan and temp would be nice. Those two values are read by the spi2par2019 directly from the SMBus and displayed on the LCD, interesting...
  8. @eustachy1973, the SmartXX modchip already supports the Parallel data connection to an LCD screen that uses an HD44780 controller. No need for this SPI2par2019 adapter.
  9. @DamonC,I split several posts off to the repair forum as they were not directly related to the original thread's topic.
  10. Depends how warm "quite warm" is? I don't notice any heat from my Xbox while off. However, even though the Xbox is off, there is standby power being provided by the power supply unit (PSU) to keep the clock circuitry running and clock cap charged while plugged in.
  11. Which dot bin files are you trying to use? What size are they? Some are 1MB files (4x duplication of the same BIOS's dot bin file one after another) for 1.0-1.1 flash chips. Those BIOS dot bin files won't work as they are too big for a 256KB flash chip.
  12. Yes If the flashing software says the BIOS is no good, the flash enable points must not be connected. Any 256KB BIOS should work - M8+ F and G, iND-BiOS 5003 or 5004, X2 4983.67 or 4981.67. If using iND-BiOS, you need to upload the ind-bios.cfg file to the C drive before flashing the TSOP.
  13. The motherboard is most likely not a 1.5 but a 1.4. See: https://www.eurasia.nu/wiki/index.php/Xbox1.5LpcPortRecovery If it is a 1.5's, the LPC debug port's pin 2 is not connected to ground and pin 9 is not connected to a 3.3Vdc power supply source. LPC Debug Port Pinout
  14. What standoffs? Those two larger holes near the bottom of the picture are for mounting the thru-hole USB Female Type A connector. Something like seen below. USB Female Type A Connector Source: www.ttinc.com
  15. It's 2Mbit not Mbyte - 256K x 8. ST Microelectronics TSOP flash memory chip used on various Xbox motherboards revisions - 1.2-1.5.
  16. I don't think it matters. Either get you to the same final solution. Another method XboxHDM23USB beta 3 installs a no-original-game-disk-required installer to the C drive in place of the stock MS dashboard. The files are in its HDD_files/C folder. Place those files/folders on the C drive using XboxHDM v1.9 and install the hard drive into the console. Boot the console and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the softmod installation. Make sure the Xbox's clock is set and don't unplug the AC power so the clock data is retained. Some have had Error 16 - Loss of clock data show up. I'm not sure why. From what I understand, this installer should not have such an error. I've not tested it myself though to see if and try to figure out why it occurs.
  17. Where's the XboxGamePreviews-N.rar file? I don't see it on the XvGM google drive. -- KaosEngineer
  18. From the old xbox-scene.com modchip table, I'd say it will not work on a 1.4/1.5 console. It may only be because the BIOS preflashed to it is not compatible with the later models. Or, LPC signal removal and/or changes Microsoft made between 1.2 to 1.3 or later revision motherboards. Most likely the later. Purchase a newer Aladdin XT plus 2 clone (aka XT 4032) modchip for USD$4-5 from eBay.com or AliExpress.com
  19. Yes, nothing else to do. Until the console is modded and a replacement dashboard is installed, the MS dashboard will look no different. It does not use the additional space. Has not access to it. The replacement dashboard installed by Rocky5's Xbox SoftmoddingTool - UnleashX - will be able to access the additional storage space.
  20. This game is available elsewhere to download. The version there seems to be ready for installation (FTPing) to the Xbox after extraction from the Quake3.rar archive.
  21. According to how damaged the traces are in and around the LPC debug port and TSOP, the console may still boot from an LPC connected modchip.
  22. I'm sure there are several people on this web site that can fix the power on problem and upgrade the hard drive. The only problem is getting the console to someone near you. Shipping each way for the console in the U.S. runs about $20 maybe more. The old thermal paste needs to be cleaned off of the CPU, GPU and associated heatsinks and replaced. Dust and other contamination inside the case removed and all the electrolytic caps need to be checked for leakage or bulging and if found, replaced with new ones. Even though the 1.6's clock cap was a higher quality than previous versions of the console, the 3 ultra-low ESR electrolytic caps next to the power supply connector on the 1.6's motherboard are not. Many are found to be leaking an orangish-brown goo out the top which can cause a multitude of problems. Check and if needed, the DVD drive laser lens cleaned, not really necessary as the hard drive should be used for applications; cough, cough, ahem games; instead of the DVD drive and/or the eject belt replaced.
  23. No need to connect it to the PC again. I know that later versions of XboxHDM, namely XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 or Beta 3, prompt you to format the F and/or G drives when working with a larger than 8GB hard drive. But, there are many ways to format the extended partitions, F and/or G drives, in the Xbox. G is not required for hard drives up to 1TB in size.
  24. It's an Xbox Memory Unit slot to USB adapter. The PCB plugs into one of the two memory unit slots on the back of an OEM Xbox controller and provides a female USB port to connect a flash drive, USB keyboard or mouse.
