  1. It's really one of the most ubiquitous cables you'll find. Good on Microsoft for at least not making this a proprietary piece.
  2. It's a common cable on many electrical devices (boom boxes, radios, printers....etc...) You should be able to find a decent one at a thrift shop, that's where I buy them. Usually $2 or $3.
  3. Another process running in the background on my PC? nawww....I'm good
  4. You tested each RAM module separately with XBlast OS during the install?
  5. Try Cerbios with a different UDMA mode.
  6. Did you use the correct value for the capacitors. Are they all oriented properly?
  7. Which step are you stuck on?
  8. If you didn't originally make backups, you're going to need an EEPROM reader, to say the least.
  9. If you have the talent to code, you should probably choose a more current and popular platform.
  10. The only partial guide I found on Wayback has important sections missing....specifically solder points on the DVD PCB.
  11. I was hoping for guides for the 8160B, there are guides I've found but they are incomplete.
  12. Is your XBOX wired to a router or switch directly?
  13. Yeah, most installer disks have an option for adding dashboards like XBMC...I haven't used XBMC in years though.
  14. Do you have a wiring guide you could recommend?
  15. Assuming you still have a pin-header on the motherboard, just slap in a >$10 Aladdin XT and call it a day. (Remember to ground D0)
  16. It sounds like OP wanted to add XBMC to their XBOX, not use it as a dashboard to FTP files.
  17. Yeah, a WiFi extender is simply an access point. If it has an ethernet port, just connect an ethernet cable from that to your XBOX. The WiFi extender should have a web interface that you can log into and see the IP address of the XBOX.
  18. You could go into Network properties and see what IP address is issued to the ethernet port (I'm assuming something like 10.0.0.1) and use that to assign a static IP on the XBOX. Is there any opportunity to hardwire the XBOX into a router or switch?
  19. You can choose a profile to log into on XBMC4Gamers....or auto login if you always boot into the same profile.
  20. You should probably reconsider the way you approach these modifications if you're going to attempt another one.
  21. No one is going to make a high-ticket aftermarket accessory for a gaming console that has been out of production for over a decade and a half. That's not how "economies of scale" operate.
  22. The shielding on those third-party component cables is practically nonexistent....
