  1. I was hoping for guides for the 8160B, there are guides I've found but they are incomplete.
  2. Is your XBOX wired to a router or switch directly?
  3. Yeah, most installer disks have an option for adding dashboards like XBMC...I haven't used XBMC in years though.
  4. Do you have a wiring guide you could recommend?
  5. Assuming you still have a pin-header on the motherboard, just slap in a >$10 Aladdin XT and call it a day. (Remember to ground D0)
  6. It sounds like OP wanted to add XBMC to their XBOX, not use it as a dashboard to FTP files.
  7. Yeah, a WiFi extender is simply an access point. If it has an ethernet port, just connect an ethernet cable from that to your XBOX. The WiFi extender should have a web interface that you can log into and see the IP address of the XBOX.
  8. You could go into Network properties and see what IP address is issued to the ethernet port (I'm assuming something like 10.0.0.1) and use that to assign a static IP on the XBOX. Is there any opportunity to hardwire the XBOX into a router or switch?
  9. You can choose a profile to log into on XBMC4Gamers....or auto login if you always boot into the same profile.
  10. You should probably reconsider the way you approach these modifications if you're going to attempt another one.
  11. No one is going to make a high-ticket aftermarket accessory for a gaming console that has been out of production for over a decade and a half. That's not how "economies of scale" operate.
  12. The shielding on those third-party component cables is practically nonexistent....
  13. There's nothing exceptionally noteworthy about the 360 component cable mod....other than it has all the cables needed for HD already bundled. You can find component cables with better shielding, imho.
  14. I would just go with this. Make sure you find a reputable seller.
  15. Nobody knows that answer because we don't know the cause of your XBOX's current reason for malfunction.
  16. There's no "softmod" for the 360. Look into the RGH 1.2 or RGH 3 mod for your particular XBOX version.
  17. Everything was working fine, then you opened it up and "worked on it".... I suspect something regarding your work or the way you handled the motherboard points towards it's apparent death. Scratched or broken trace, component knocked off the board, static shock, bridged points....it's hard to say.
  18. You're one tiny bottle of conductive paint away from ever having to fuss with softmods on this console again.
  19. I always tie D0 to the motherboard ground for chip installs. It just makes it easier if you're testing modchips and moving them around.
