The chip is a clone of the original Aladdin. Yours is the 4032 chip so you cannot do anything fancy like a lcd, but it does the job.

I had a similar problem when I formatted a drive and had a couple of folders appear using up a couple of gig. I could not get rid of them until I reformatted the drive. If the files are not taking up any space I wouldn't worry about them.

Just remove it, if you're hooked up to the internet it will show the correct time. You can replace it but there is no need.

It's a good idea to open it to make sure the clock capacitor has been removed, unless you have a 1.6 which doesn't have one. They leak and can mess up the board.

2 12v fans of the same wattage as a 6v fan will use the same amount of current (amps). Power/Volts=Amps

Here’s a link to a few force 480p bios. you could try one of them and see if that helps. http://www.eurasia.nu/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=11314&ttitle=Force_480p_Xbox_BIOS_Collection_v3

you can also null the hdd key in both XBoxes and this should allow you to swap between boxes. use configmagic to null hdd key just remember to lock it afterwards.
-
It would be easier if your new xbox was hard modded as the hdd would not need to be locked. You can use the eeprom from your 1st xbox and inject it to your new one. You can then just move hdds between the XBoxes.

Regarding temp you could use xbmc as your dash and just set a max temp so it doesn't overheat. -
So that's why I have never had one, doh!

A 1.4 and a 1.5 look the same. If there is no continuity between Pin 2 and ground it is a 1.5.

Have a look in here. http://the-eye.eu/public/xbins/XBOX/PC Based Applications/bios tools/

When I am home next i’ll see if I have a copy.

Yes, you will also need a .cfg file telling the xbox where to find xbmc4gamers
