  1. You will lose any data if you need to reformat the partition so make sure you have anything you need backed up.
  2. The chip is a clone of the original Aladdin. Yours is the 4032 chip so you cannot do anything fancy like a lcd, but it does the job.
  3. I had a similar problem when I formatted a drive and had a couple of folders appear using up a couple of gig. I could not get rid of them until I reformatted the drive. If the files are not taking up any space I wouldn't worry about them.
  4. Just remove it, if you're hooked up to the internet it will show the correct time. You can replace it but there is no need.
  5. It's a good idea to open it to make sure the clock capacitor has been removed, unless you have a 1.6 which doesn't have one. They leak and can mess up the board.
  6. 2 12v fans of the same wattage as a 6v fan will use the same amount of current (amps). Power/Volts=Amps
  7. Evercool make a molex to 4 way 12v fan adapter, you would also need a molex splitter.
  8. Here’s a link to a few force 480p bios. you could try one of them and see if that helps. http://www.eurasia.nu/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=11314&ttitle=Force_480p_Xbox_BIOS_Collection_v3
  9. Are you running your xbox ntsc or pal, try swapping and see if that works.
  10. you can also null the hdd key in both XBoxes and this should allow you to swap between boxes. use configmagic to null hdd key just remember to lock it afterwards.
  11. It would be easier if your new xbox was hard modded as the hdd would not need to be locked. You can use the eeprom from your 1st xbox and inject it to your new one. You can then just move hdds between the XBoxes.
  12. Is it easy to remove just in case you didn't want to accidentally reflash the TSOP?
  13. Any particular reason you didn't TSOP them?
  14. Regarding temp you could use xbmc as your dash and just set a max temp so it doesn't overheat.
  15. So that's why I have never had one, doh!
  16. If you have a 2nd X3 chip and a multi meter you can try and bell them out and look for any differences and a potential short.
  17. A 1.4 and a 1.5 look the same. If there is no continuity between Pin 2 and ground it is a 1.5.
  18. Connect the ide cable, dvd drive, hdd and check again, if you still have a problem recheck the soldering for an unwanted bridging.
  19. Have a look in here. http://the-eye.eu/public/xbins/XBOX/PC Based Applications/bios tools/
  20. Just make sure the target path is e:
  21. When I am home next i’ll see if I have a copy.
  22. Yes, you will also need a .cfg file telling the xbox where to find xbmc4gamers
  23. Have you tried xbins?
  24. Give this a try. Look in unofficial. http://the-eye.eu/public/xbins/XBOX/Console Based Applications/bios/Xecuter/Xecuter2/MULTI_VERSION/
