  1. Sounds like he is asking about UIX but its possible he could be thinking of something else. It is hard to understand the question sometimes
  2. If you are talking about patches to the original MS dashboard that would be UIX and the different variants of it. UIX and the Lite/Ultra Lite variants are based on the original MS dashboard and have patches involved to change the behavior of the original MS dashboard. I dont use UIX as Im a bigger fan of the more modern dashboards so I cant tell you all of the various quirks UIX has but I know its not a completed dashboard. https://github.com/MrMilenko/UIX-Ultra-Lite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkiaQZAqEys https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlFVf--V0Ac
  3. ToniHC was involved with Coinops so I would imagine his 4TB build would be pretty good quality. Dragon4Gamers also has a bunch of emulators with artwork including CoinOPs massive, Ninja Massive, MAME etc.. so if someone were setting up a hard drive it would probably be a good build to use since it has about everything.
  4. Im not sure who runs the https://back-ups.me/index.php site but that is where the various CoinOPS builds and addon packages were initially released before those releases got spread through other outlets. It looks like ToniHC has released his 2TB and 4TB dragon builds there as well so it doesnt look like you need to donate to download those torrents. I would encourage anyone that wants either the 2TB or 4TB dragon4gamers build to use a VPN even though its a private torrent.
  5. I would give it a try but ToniHC wants you to be a patreon supporter. If you look in his youtube video description "I only share this pack with emuxtras patreons and my patreons"
  6. Never tried either one but I know ToniHC did some things for Coinops and has been around awhile. I would bet the 2TB build is pretty good. I was never a fan of the 2TB Origins build. Very unorganized and a bit sloppy.
  7. It seems very hypocritical to complain about copying a hardware design when Ryzee did the same thing. The original XboxHD+ is no longer being made either. The design was abandoned so its no longer produced & sold. Again I dont see the issue when its no longer being made. Ryzee still copied a hardware design that someone else initially made and I am pretty sure he has profited off of that Open sourced a hardware design that someone else made? Also, maybe NeMesiS will use open source firmware Stolen firmware? How is using open source firmware stealing when its open source? Maybe NeMesiS releases his HDMI mod with no firmware. And the reverse engineering stuff you have me a little confused, is it not ok to reverse engineer hardware if you're NeMesiS but its OK to reverse engineer software? or is it just OK to reverse engineer hardware but only if you're Ryzee taking the Xenium hardware and turning that in to OpenXenium? Is one or both OK depending on who you are? or is it just not OK for either NeMesiS hasnt lied. Im guessing you are here because you have seen the pictures and the videos of his progress. He isnt hiding anything. If he were trying to hide something he wouldnt be so clearly showing you what he is doing. NeMesiS is working on providing an option that no longer exists for people of the Xbox community. An HDMI mod that works independent of whatever modchip someone is using. Nobody else is offering a solution like this, certainly not Dustin with his Stellar stuff. Many people already have a modchip installed in their Xbox. These people may not want to uninstall their modchip and install a different modchip just to get HDMI output from their Xbox. The work being done by NeMesiS is appreciated by many people in this Xbox community.
  8. Are you using a USB adapter? and what kind are you are using? The problem with some of these IDE to USB adapters is often times they just dont work well for locking/unlocking IDE hard drives with xboxHDM23usb and FATXplorer.
  9. Isn't the hardware design of the OpenXenium a clone?
  10. Im not sure what the issue is here. Dustin doesnt use the same design with his Stellar XboxHD+. He abandoned the old design and went with something he felt was better with the Stellar XboxHD+ and as Dustin himself says, he doesnt even use the same BIOS for Stellar. The old design is no longer being made, doesnt use the same BIOS and was abandoned. His Stellar XboxHD+ is a different design. It reminds me of the original Xenium modchip that was originally made by TeamXodus. They stopped making that modchip and you know what happened? Somebody took the TeamXodus design, recreated it and came out with their own version called Open Xenium. Was that a rip off of the original design? If TeamXodus is no longer making it and someone else takes that design and makes a working recreation, what is the problem. I think before people complain they need to look in the mirror.

    files fail

You could try WinSCP to transfer the files and see if it makes any difference.
  12. Yes, the automatic Safe Mode a nice feature. If for some reason Cerbios didnt detect a wrong UDMA mode, you could also boot in to safe mode yourself by powering on the Xbox with the eject button. Its a really good BIOS although Im still not a big fan of the logo.
  13. His soft modded Xbox hard drive is 2TB. His hard modded Xbox is 4TB. Im guessing there are a good number of files that need to be transferred over to the new 4TB. I do think connecting both to the computer would probably be a good idea since SATA would be the quickest way to transfer but it is nice to have other options for transferring the files.
  14. I think people generally have a harder time with a direct connection from the Xbox to a computer. You may want to try connecting your Xbox to your router and see if that will work for flashing the BIOS next time. This is a longer video that deals with installing the Xenium but I have it marked at the time it deals with flashing the Xenium so this may be helpful: https://youtu.be/ICRS3yHICKQ?t=1833 There are a few ways you could do this. The fastest might be to remove both hard drives connect them to your computer and have FATXplorer transfer the files between the hard drives. You could also maybe just connect one, save the files to your computer then connect the second hard drive and transfer files back. You could also FTP files to your computer but this would probably be slower. Last you can connect an Xbox directly to another Xbox but you would need to use a crossover cable. I believe the Avalaunch dashboard has a boost mode for this but its been such a long time since I have done an Xbox to Xbox file transfer I dont remember the steps. Im sure someone else on the forum knows the fastest way to do an Xbox to Xbox file transfer.
  15. Im not 100% sure on all the various reasons but I know some of these bridge chips used in these adapters/docking stations dont support ATA pass-through commands and USB 3.0 adapters dont seem to work at all for locked IDE drives. Although most people are using SATA there are times where you might need to read/write/erase an old IDE drive. People still use the hotswap method to softmod their stock Xbox. USB IDE adapters with the JM20337 chip are known to work with IDE drives which is why the Startech USB2SATAIDE and Warmstor are good choices USB 3.x for SATA drives tend to work better but even then you can have issues with those not working. I bought a cheap off brand adapter I tried to use for a SATA drive and it wouldnt work. I ended up spending more money to get the Sabrent DS-UTC1 and it works fine. I think the biggest part of what determines if a adapter or docking station will work is what kind of bridge chip is used in the adapter/docking station.
  16. When I first joined this forum I had a ton of trouble trying to get a USB adapter to work and spent hours on it. Turns out it the adapter was just not compatible with XboxHDM 2.3 USB nor FATXplorer.
  17. The software doesn't need a SATA port on the PC at all. You could set up the hard drive using an old IDE computer because you would be using the USB port not a SATA or PATA. The fastest and best solution would be a SATA connection as it is much faster but USB can work albeit at a slower rate. Something I didnt mention in my earlier post that may useful for others that may read this thread that do not already know, not all USB adapters/docking stations ect... are compatible with FATXplorer. If trying to use an IDE drive, the best solution would be to find a USB 2.0 adapter with the JM20337 chip like the Startech USB2SATAIDE or Warmster adapter use. If setting up a SATA drive, the recommended device is the Sabrent DS-UTC1 docking station that uses the ASM235CM chip. Hope this helps anyone that may look to try setting up a hard drive with FATXplorer
  18. If you dont have a SATA port you can use a USB adapter and set it up through USB
  19. I think I would have been ready to pull my hair out being back at the same spot you were already in. Glad to hear you didnt give up. That's why I suggested installing a new dashboard first. You can still have those problems even with a new modchip depending on the bios and how the hard drive is setup. Installing a new dashboard will often fix the issue so its usually a good first try.
  20. According to the readme included with Cerbios v2.3.1: To launch Cerbios as a BFM BIOS, simply copy the Phoenix BIOS Loader folder to your HDD along with a copy of Cerbios BIOS file renamed as Cerbios.bin, Copy BootAnims folder & Cerbios.ini to root of C Launch default.xbe & let the magic happen. Console should reboot into Cerbios.
  21. You can install a SATA hard drive up to 16TB in size. I personally think a 4TB hard drive is a good size to pick but everyone has their own opinions. Once you pick your hard drive you will also need to buy an IDE to SATA adapter. The Startech is the one recommended to use but depending on what part of the world you live in, it may be hard to get. Another thing you will need to do is replace your original Xbox IDE cable with a new 80 wire IDE cable preferably one that is 24 inches long. The 18 inch long IDE cables are a very tight fit and are almost too short. Once you have your hard drive, IDE to SATA adapter and 80 wire IDE cable, you can use FATXplorer 3.0 beta to setup your new hard drive. Here is a guide: https://www.hazeno.com/og-xbox-hdd-2tb-and-under If you want to install a larger hard drive than 2TB you should update your modchip bios to Cerbios 2.3.1, then follow this guide: https://www.hazeno.com/ogxbox-large-hdd-cerbios
  22. Crossover cables were used years ago on old computers. Newer computers feature Auto MDI-X which does the crossover for you. Unless your computer is 15-20 years old you wont need a crossover cable.
  23. I dont know what tool you are thinking of patching a bios but I know if you are using Cerbios you can use the Cerbios Tool to load a Cerbios bios and edit the UDMA speeds along with other settings: https://github.com/Team-Resurgent/CerbiosTool
  24. Startech uses the Marvell 88SA8052. A few other adapters use it as well
  25. A hard modded Xbox doesnt need the hard drive locked. That is one big advantage to using a modchip. You said in one of your earlier posts you disconnected the modchip and got an error 5. That was before you tried Hexen. If you disconnected the modchip before you tried all this other stuff and got the error 5, I dont think your hard drive was ever locked. From your pictures I cant tell what kind of mod chip you have but I do see jumpers on it. Could you have moved a jumper which disabled the modchip? or accidentally pulled a soldered wire? If you disabled the modchip you would no longer be booting the with the Xecuter2 logo. You would be booting stock with an unlocked hard drive and of course you would get the error 5.
