On the 1.0 - 1.1 the bios chip is a 1024kb size and most bios files are 256kb so the flashing soft where will make 4 copies to fill the chip. If you are going to fit a mod chip then you don't need to soft mod it 1st. Although if you can solder a modchip it's less soldering to reflash the bios on a 1.0-1.4 and the 1.2 - 1.4 you don't have to remove the main board as the 2 links are on the top of the board and you can even use a conductive pain to make the 2 links need. If you re re-flashing the on board bios you 1sst add the 2 links to the board then flash the new bios file, Once it's re flashed the load a installer disk like the OGXbox installer 2021 and it has a remove soft mod option. If you fit a mod chip you can load the same disk after fitting it and use it to remove the soft mod files.
